I remember seeing somewhere that people had put their dis names along with Facebook names, where was that? I can't remember if it was on the website, here or on Facebook? Or am I just dreaming that it existed?

Lol, yes it's our dog. I was going to get a picture of the car covered in snow but she decided that would make a better picture so jumped outside. She's a good dog. Shelties are a handful though and she is more than a little bossy. She loves the snow and has to go for a roll in it whenever it's fresh or wet.

She'll be staying at her friends house while we're on the cruise having her own vacation.
She's so beautiful! We have (the most fabulous) puppy (in the world) that is a Boston Terrier and he does not like the snow :rotfl:

Nope, you're not dreaming. There is a post on FB with that info. :)

ETA: Bumped it up for you on FB

I think it was on FB. I remember seeing it as well, but can't remember for the life of me where.

Now that ValBob is back, perhaps she'll update our first post with links to things such as that.

I understand where you're coming from. We get so attached don't we? Did you ever do sports with yours? Ours loved agility. I'll have to find a picture for you we have somewhere...
I'd love to see a picture of the agility. Our puppy strikes me as the type that would have fun doing agility, but I think I'm too lazy to get him into it. That and we live in the boonies with no dog clubs nearby.

We had a sheltie mix, we lost him just this past July. RIP. They really do become one of the family, I still have moments when I tear up thinking about him! DD & I would cry when we would have to leave him with grandma while we went on cruises! They are always so happy to see you when you get home!!!

Our old dog died this past June at 15. My husband wasn't interested in a new dog, but somehow fell in love with this new puppy (who is six months old later this week). We miss our old gal, but are really enjoying this new guy. And now we're worried about our trip and how it will affect him :rotfl2:. I'm going to pay someone to stay at our house with him and the cat, I just hate the thought of him being boarded that long. Our old dog didn't mind boarding at all, but she was very different in personality. She was content to be alone. This puppy definitely lives up to his breed's reputation of being a companion dog, he needs to be right next to us and in the thick of things.

Yes, yes, yes. Definitely family. The place I took him to Puppy Kindergarten had an agility course, but I was just starting teaching then, poor, and didn't pursue. He was just like bottled energy though. :) I'll have to give you the story onboard on how he and Curt met. I think I am hesitant to get another dog because if I could have cloned that dog, I would have. He has set the bar too high for future dogs I'm afraid.
:flower3:

Looking forward to the story of how the dog and Curt met.

Our puppy is turning out to be the greatest dog in the world and I admit that I can't imagine another one after him. I've had dogs most of my life, but I've never loved any quite like this. And I really did love all the other ones! But sometimes you just get the exact right dog for you.

Is everyone else seeing the link that ValBob posted? I'm on a laptop and feel left out :p

Don't feel left out, I couldn't see it either!! I thought it was just my computer!

We had an energetic Dalmatian for 14 years. It broke my heart when he passed. It's been a little over two years and it's still hard at times. He was like one of the kids. My youngest is 22 and is back home after graduating from college and she keeps saying she wants a dog but I don't want to go through that again. Plus i always felt bad about being away all day at work. The older DD and SIL have two rescues and we love them. When they come to visit I get my dog fix. They are the grandpups. They live in Rochester NY and love to come visit and play in our acre of fenced yard.

Glad you're still getting your dog fix.

Some dogs don't mind being alone, so don't write off having a dog. Our old dog did great while we were at work all day. Our new dog wouldn't do well at all if I worked outside the home. But sooner or later all pets do die and break our hearts, so I completely understand not wanting to do that part again.

They do become a part of the family. We adopted our Kasey a month before we found out I was expecting DD16. Kasey was our first baby! It's been about 4 years since we lost her and there are still days I walk into the house expecting her to come running.

We are now the parents of 3 cats that we found abandoned on our patio when they were about a week old. Eyes were still closed and we had to bottle feed them. I was just planning to get them healthy and give them to our local no-kill shelter but we grew attached to those 3 little guys. :goodvibes
How wonderful that you were able to rescue those kittens! Pets, for us, really add to the home. But I am sorry for the loss of your dog :flower3:

Thanks everyone for the kind words and thoughts. It has been a rough couple of months. It has been hard on me so I can’t imagine what it has been like for my sister. My brother in law was my brother for almost half my life and a very close friend and he was the best man at our wedding. And as my husband says, We haven’t even gotten our album yet! I am also very close to his sister and her husband (also in our wedding) and this has put a major strain on our relationship. I am not sure what happened but it is painful to see so much anger between the two of them. I just hope they can learn to be civil to each other for the sake of the kids.
So after another family meeting, the six of us will definitely will be joining you, with the other three up in the air. My Mom has been looking so forward to this and my little sister already told the three year old about the trip, she just couldn’t tell her we weren’t going. At bed time yesterday she asked how many days till we leave to go on the ship with Mickey and then during her prayers, she blessed the cruise ship. Her father has been away at the state police academy for 6 months, so my sister had been promising her this trip. We would love to go as a family but I guess sometimes things aren’t meant to be and I will get to enjoy some alone tine with my nieces. I did just spend 14 days on a cruise with the other two. Still hoping they will join us though!
So pleased to hear that most of you will still be traveling with us pixiedust:. I truly hope that your sister and BIL are able to work through this and come to an amicable separation. I know that if anything ever went wrong between my husband and me that it'd be very hard on my entire family. They adore him and love him to bits. It makes sense how hurt you're all feeling about this; we come to love our in-laws and all feel the effects of bitter divorces. So I hope they can work it out and make it friendly for all, especially their children. :goodvibes
