If lanyard spacing is an issue ...

MAGIC ACROSS THE ATLANTIC

... could mean pretty much anything. Tejas to Espana is neat, but not sure it would fit on a lanyard.

#######

(badge inserts vs. lanyards)

- Remember, badges do not know they are supposed to point in one specific direction. It is not uncommon for a badge to get reversed. The basic idea of the lanyards is to identify a fellow DISer from a distance ... something which would enable you to introduce yourself if you do not know the other DISer (or, cannot see their nametag). If you skip the lanyard and use a badge insert, I'm guessing people would not notice the badge ... especially if it gets reversed.

#######

The lanyard spacing has various character limitations by company, screen print versus woven, etc. Woven is probably out of question (price and minimum quantity was much higher) at least from the ones I have researched.

We used lanyard and badge insert before. The badge insert was printed front/back, but I also had that thought then because of it flipping around since several ended up using their own lanyards (and they can just flip around anyway from body movement). Easy enough to print two sheets per person, slip KTTW card between the two sheets so no matter which way the badge is facing it is a clear view. Plus if it is printed in a color that is not a KTTW color, such as light blue background (?), then also helpful to view. I'd always be looking at the badge walking past someone in the hall to figure out which DIS member they were. So neat meeting them all! We also found several people resorting to using their own lanyards last time instead of the group lanyard. I think I may put a poll out there again regarding lanyards as those who responded previously may not be onboard still since PIF has passed. Kinda like money - many may have said they'd contribute to the lanyard team, but may have also cancelled the cruise at this point, so seeing where we stand with a lanyard team in donating funds as a team will be helpful as I know we had several reply they want a lanyard but are not willing to contribute.

do we all agree to take another volunteer to co-ordinate secret mickey??]

if ive missed anything let me know :thumbsup2

any volunteers to take on other activities???:worship:

Yay for those who have stepped up recently to fill the list! :)

What do we still need?

Oh - Toddler meet-and-greet - no organizer needed. It's just a time set so the toddlers can meetup at the kids' splash area on deck 9 :thumbsup2

FYI for anyone who likes to order things from VistaPrint... they are having one of their many sales this weekend: 50% off and free shipping if $50 or more.

Hope this helps someone out there! :)

Thank you!!! I get my business cards from there!

Confession: I absolutely LOVE SM; can't wait to sign the boys up. But I won't sign up to organize it, because I don't want to pick who we have (or who is giving to them) and because right now I suck at anything above and beyond getting through the day.

A big THANK YOU to those who have volunteered already!

Should we make a decision on the shorts within the next few weeks or so if Valbob doesn't check in? If you remember, they were having trouble getting RT airfare home at one point.....

Secret Mickey....

I have participated in this before on the EBTA and would love to do it again, so it would be nice if somebody stepped up to organize this.
i would be willing to volunteer but i want to participate also, is that possible??

I could just throw all the names in a hat and then draw.

But can you organize SM while participating also????

Not necessarily an Organizer, but we should get someone set up to answer questions/whatever. I've had questions via the website about it and since I no longer have a toddler, I'd not the best to answer those questions. We seem to have quite a few first time cruisers with probably simple questions but I've no experience with the event or how it goes.

Very easy thing to volunteer for then? :goodvibes

I don't see why not, you would just know your secret mickey unless you have someone who could help and hide it from you somehow!!

I will do the Scavenger Hunt. I'm volunteering my daughter Emily to help me.

Awesome. I think i may be able to handle this without mucking it up. ;)

Thanks to you all for stepping up, it with make the cruise extra special for all of us with these extra dis activities going on :cheer2:

Added you all to the list :thumbsup2

Good point! Put me down then :)

She is handling the button down shirts completely, and that design link I posted was the last I recall seeing. Maybe she'll share if that's still the current design. :confused3

We wear so many tshirts in our family, plus like a matching shirt for embarkation, so that's why I ordered the $6 tshirts from VistaPrint. Couldn't beat that deal :cool1: Our shirts from WBTA 2011 are still in tact and good after dozens of of washes.

PALO GROUP BRUNCHES
* The first will be scheduled for Mon- May 20th (Our 2nd Sea Day because the PJ Breakfast is on our first Sea Day)

* Each group will be a minimum of 12 and a max of 14.
* PM me your Names and Party size. (We will request the rest of your info before the requests are sent in)
* We will fill the groups first come first serve.
* All Guests must be 18+

Once we start our new thread I will create a post on page one that can be updated. I will see about doing the same on our website.

Even though there is conflicting information on the boards the following may be true: Once the Group Brunch is confirmed any reservation an individual holds will be cancelled since you can only have 1 reservation for brunch and 1 for dinner.

Just in case anyone missed it. :)

Those of you who have already sent PMs, I have received them and placed you in May 20th Group 1 which is close to filling up. Once we get 12, I will start Group 2 for May 22.

I will not be sending in our requests until after March 3, 2013 ( booking and online check in date for First timers).

What is secret Mickey? Is it like secret Santa? Do u give gifts everyday? Is it for everyone or just kids? Sorry for so many questions but we've never done any of this stuff on any of our cruises before, kind of new to the dis boards.

Secret mickey is like secret Santa but since it isn't Christmas and because we are on a Disney ship it's called Sectret Mickey...:-)

The rules need to be determind but it's not a gift every day.
On the EBTA we did 3 or 4 gifts in total and we also made agreements about a total amount of money for the gifts (somewhere about $30).

It's certainly not only for kids, adults are more then welcome and even highly encouraged because otherwise i would be out (adult without kids)....

No worries about the questions better just spill out all the questions because that's also why the boards are for!!!!

I would be willing to help so you don't know who your Secret Mickey is! :thumbsup2. Don't want to participate but would be willing to do what needs to be done so it's a secret to you.

Usually the questions that are asked are questions I had and didn't want to ask or I hadn't thought of. I love other people's questions.
