Aah von Deutschland, wilkommen! Welcome aboard! We live close to Germany! It's nice to read everything what is said about this cruise, you'll find some tips and trics. Enjoy it.

Hello, thanks for the warm welcome... DANKESCHÖN! :lovestruc

Yes, we already got some great tips before our other Disney cruises... Made a couple of friends on this board and who we met onboard and who I still have contact with via Facebook.

Maybe what we can do is go back to the Union Jack flag in this new Mickey design? Was that flag accurate? I thought someone said all gov't buildings in Gibraltar fly it.

I agree with the button down idea, and can see why less busy will work better for some of us. Will the shirt have a colored material? I think it would look better on a material that has color (again voting for blue for the oceanic theme, but other colors might work too?) than a plain white.

Either way, sign DH and I up for 3- always good to have 'an heir and a spare' you know? :rotfl:

We went to a showing of BRAVE last night. I really wanted to love this movie, I only liked it. We had VIP seats, in the center of the theater. Even with these seats, I found the center of the screen clear but the rest out of focus. So it wasn't a beautiful movie, even scenes that should have been. The story line was weak and not something small kids will get. But it isn't interesting enough for adults. The two female characters look like pretty dolls, with very large eyes (look like Precious Moments figures), but all the Scots men, old and young were unattractive buffoons. The mystical aspects were weak. The witch was mostly silly and looks like Mrs. Hasegawa from Lilo & Stitch. The 'spirts' were never really explained, at the end it seems they might be the soul/spirt of deceased, but they never were developed into characters. Even the evil dark character, which had a role throughout the movie was never really developed, nor seemed to play as an important role as the bare butts of the buffoons did, again, weak story development. The music was very pleasant but there are no memorable songs. I guess I didn't even like the movie as much as I thought.

It sounds like a disappointing movie. I was hoping for more.

I think if the movie was from DreamWorks it wouldn't have been disappointing, but rather a cute cartoon. However, because it was from Pixar, we all expected much more. I'llve be interested in hearing the opinion of others who see it.

I just transferred our 2012 Alaska cruise to this one. I've done an EBTA in 2010 with kcashner. We had a great time! This time I'll have my DD and DGD(11) with me. I hope there'll be more kids than last time so my DGD will have someone to hang out with. :thumbsup2

Did you feel like there was too many days at sea? What month did you go? Did you feel alot of motion on the ship?

On the Hawaii cruise I had hoped everyone would like the button down shirts I designed. I was very pleased to find out just how much everyone, including the crew liked them.

I've been working on a possible design for our group. This is the base design. The shirt company would add a material background design. This is a 12 x 12 image of one repeat. Let me know what you think?

This looks fabulous! I want one for DH and I. Is it too late?

What are your plans after arriving in Spain? Anyone doing another Disney Cruise once there or anyone planning to go to Paris or Disneyland Paris? Does anyone know if Disney Adventures will be offering something starting 6/1/12?

We are also interested in the shirt. Hoping it's not too late yet. :flower3:

Wow, you guys have been busy! I'm on a two-week trip up to the northeast US and just checked in a little for the first time in almost a week. Glad to see all the great discussion!! :thumbsup2

You are far from too late, I am still trying to come up with a design. If you have any ideas or recommendations, let us know.

I continue to work on the first design but have also been working on new one. I like the second one better but I have concerns about how well it would transfer to material. Here it is, I've used Millipie's Transatlantic design in mine.

I like this one! Although I don't know what it would look like all repeated.

OH NOOOOOO
My dd is waiting with bated breath for this movie, she has the same hair and little red cheeks, and was soooooo looking forward to being a "brave" princess as she thinks the princesses are a bit wet now that shes 7.
Dosnt come out over here for a few more weeks yet.
Thanks for the review.:wave2:

I tried to create an image that might give you an idea what the fabric would look like with the repeats. So image this is about 16inchs wide and 22 inches high. The ship box is about 6x4

I would wait and see what she thinks of it. I hope she loves it. I think it has jokes that a 7 year old will enjoy. Bob thinks a she'll think it is cool, Merida gets to ride a horse, tell off her parents. What more could a little girl want?

I posted awhile back that we were hoping to book this cruise in June and... we did!

We're officially sailing the Atlantic Ocean with Mickey! :cool1:

Looking forward to getting to know you all better.

Right now we have the first Med cruise booked, but will prob use that money for something else. This may be the only time some of the group I am cruising with will be in Europe. I think we may pick one other country besides Spain to visit and fly home from there. Any ideas? Germany, fly home from Frankfurt. France, fly home from Paris. Or fly. home from London?

So I saw somewhere that when the Magic arrived in Barcelona once they had fireworks from the shore - does this usually happening or is this likely to have been a one off? (kind of a question for people who have done this in the past)

We're definitely up for the FE too :)
The fireworks in Barcelona were for the inital visit only as far as I know. I have the whole sequence on disk (can't read the thing...wrong format :( ) There is an image of a burst with a Mickey Head over Barcelona - that never happened. A bit of Pixie Magic I guess...photoshop is an amazing program! We actually arrived in Barcelona twice - once during the day and then we went out of port again until evening when the fireworks happened. It was unusual - we were not allowed to disembark until the next morning - and we stayed overnight WITH A CURFEW...sigh.

I am interested in the FE as well....my fiance (Halloween_Gryl) is also interested. She is taking me on this cruise for my graduation present...so I am sure we will be spending alot of time at the pool!!

On the Hawaii cruise I had hoped everyone would like the button down shirts I designed. I was very pleased to find out just how much everyone, including the crew liked them.

Val - your design was amazing. As before, I would love to have the final graphics (now that I know HOW to use Elements!!) I will ask my friend to make shirts for the bears again. (this time I will have more lead time I hope to print the fabric - that killed my printer!)

New Facebook group sorted instead of page as requested due to privacy issues with facebook pages :thumbsup2

Do we need an invite? If so let me know who to PM!!

I like this one...but not as a repeating pattern. I would perfer the less busy pattern as well - maybe like the embroidered Castaway Cay shirts? With one pattern on the back and something small on the pocket area? I don't usually wear patterns that are busy - being a Larger Gryl myself - the busy pattern tends to accentuate the already economy sized attributes! (if you get my meaning!)

padalyn: I don't think I met you last week on the Canada cruise, but it looks like we'll be sailing together again! Maybe this time we'll meet!

I would also like an invite (if necessary) for the Facebook group.
