May 18, 2008 4-day Wonder--Anyone going?

Hi everybody. I'm coming too! Me, my mom and my sons, 7 and 8. I've done two 3nt cruises with my husband and kids, but since we have our own business, it's hard for both of us to be away, especially during the week, so the 4nt was a little harder for us. But the kids love the idea of grandma coming along. I really wanted to do the double dip!

:earsboy: Hi everyone!

My DH and I will be there! We will be spending three days in WDW before the cruise and this is our first vacation ever! This will also be our first plane ride too from Philadelphia. I know there's requirements with liquids and stuff, is it typical for people to get airsick?

I also have been quite busy finishing my Masters and this is a graduation present from the DH. Problem being, I have not given this vacation too much thought in terms of what to do in WDW, what I should expect on the ship, etc. Is this going to come back and haunt me? I did book a couple of excursions while at CC and Nassau and dinner at Palo on the first night.

Any tips, especially with flying for the first time, would come in real handy!

Congrats on your Masters!
I am graduating with my MBA in May and this trip is my present, as well. My partner and I are doing 3 days at WDW (staying at POFQ) before the trip and we have Palo at 6 on the first night. Small world :)

The TSA.gov site gives the details about liquids, click here for link.

I have never gotten airsick and I can be sensitive to motion. I would say get some Bonine or some people say ginger tablets can help. Since this is your first plane ride, bring some gum to help with the ear popping from the pressure change.

I think you will have fabu time regardless of whether you have micro-planned the trip or just let it happen. :) :) :) :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Has anyone in the US received their cruise docs yet? I am patiently waiting.....popcorn::

Not yet. It is hard waiting for them because I am such an organizational nut. I have already begun packing, so lack of the docs is killin' me!:scared1:

Still only about 3 weeks until the trip begins! :dance3:
:woohoo:

I am usually packing and everything right now too, but we are in the midst of selling our house and having open houses so I don't think potential buyers really want to see our suitcases out in the open! Which that is driving me crazy not being able to pack and get things ready!

Cool..... looks like you are the first one from the US to receive theirs!!!

Why is it that it somehow feels more exciting (& it feels like it's not long now) once the tickets are actually in your hand!!!!!!!!!

Hi, Leslie! My son is also 8, so they'll be in the Lab together! :)

This is going to be such a blast! Wow, before we all know it, we'll be sailin' the Wonder!! I'm so excited about the Double Dip, too!! :woohoo:

Oh...about the Disney Shopping, I bought my son the Tiki Mickey Mouse swimtrunks...they're due here tomorrow!

My TA told me today I'll have the documents in hand Saturday or Monday!

It feels good coz then it's really official!! :cool1:

I just received my documents yesterday (Wednesday), too! And I got the good news that one of my major projects at work has been postponed (so now I can focus more on preparing for this trip).

I can't believe y'all have already started packing - yikes, I feel so behind! I will try to start some packing this weekend.

Not long to go now!!!

We don't leave until May 16th to catch a flight on the 17th....... (but have another 9 days in Orlando after the cruise)

Who gets to start their vacation before the cruise & has the least time to wait before they leave????? (You'll make me jealous!!)

Can't believe you guys are packing already!! You're so organized!!!!!!!!

Our flight leaves Columbus, OH at 7:40 AM on May 15th to get us to WDW to begin the Land portion of our Land and Sea vacation.

I am packing to try to determine if I need larger luggage :lmao:
and really to see if I have forgotten anything in terms of clothing needs. I have a short list of essentials that I know that I need to pick up, but getting things in bags lets me know what else I am missing...

I will repack at least once before we go to better distribute the stuff!

Also, packing a great way to procrastinate when you really should be writing a paper... 2 weeks from today, I graduate!!!:dance3:  :cool1: :cheer2: :woohoo:

I am jealous of your 9 days after the cruise... I barely got approval for my vacation and that was only because they did not realize a major project was going to roll out during that time. They asked subtlely if I would rethink the timing... :scared1:

Vacation time is one area I know you guys in the US get a raw deal on compare to us in the UK

I get 30 days fully paid vacation + another 8 days which are public holidays spread throughout the year. That's why the Brits are always in Orlando for full 2 week periods when they are over!!!!!!!

You have the upper hand on us in many other areas but vacation time is once good benefit we get over here!!!!!

We are flying to Orlando on May 15 and doing the Pirate & Princess Party on the 16th before the cruise. Then we'll spend a couple more days at WDW before we fly back home to Texas.

I haven't actually started packing yet, but I have spent every weekend shopping and shopping for all the stuff we need for the trip (plus it's just that time of year when my daughter needs new swimsuits, shorts, shirts, shoes, . . .). Actually, the more I get checked off on my "to do" list, the longer it seems to become and the longer my packing list becomes - it's a vicious cycle!

Anyway, I've still got to make a tentative schedule, do more shopping, get haircuts, manicures, pedicures, and oh so much more. OK, I'm making myself tired just thinking about it. I'm ready to be there!

We booked our cruise through AAA and my husband picked up the documents this morning!:cool1: The travel agent said they arrived on Saturday. I can't wait! Only 20 more days

The new Narnia movie comes out the 16th. Do you think they will play it on our cruise? The Narnia books were my favorites when I was a kid, so I am looking forward to the movie.
