May 18, 2003 Wonder

We're staying at the Radisson also the night before - we're hoping to check in around 3ish. Hope to see you all there ;)

When you check in at the front desk you may request a spot on the shuttle. There is a sign up sheet and I believe they begin at 10 am. If you have a large group and the shuttle appears to be filled during the earlier pickups, you may drive your family and luggage to the port, drop them off, return your vehicle to the Radisson and catch the next available shuttle (Radisson or Avis at the same location) - it's much easier to find a single seat than to wait for seating for 4, 5 or 6.
We plan to arrive around 6 - I have to work until 3 (will be an extremely slow moving 7 hour gig). We'll have the car packed and ready to go once I can burst through the doors of the Biltmore!!!

We got our documents last week and are getting things organized to pack. Now we are very excited. Something about seeing your name on those tickets. And they are paid for. Almost as if we won them. :) We will be Getting into Florida sometime Friday May 16th and will be staying at the Radisson Sat. May 17th/03. Hope to see some of you around the pool. Thanks to everyone for sharing and making our planning so much easier! :Pinkbounc

Its official...we will not be staying at the Radisson Saturday night.
We're going to drive over on Sunday morning.

DH & I discussed and agreed that the extra expense was unncessary. He argued that the money could be better spent on the cruise (an extra spa treatment, perhaps??). That's all I needed to hear!!!:p

Our plan is to head out around 8:00 Sunday, which should get us to port around 10:30-11:00.

Hope to bump in to some of you!!!

Starting tomorrow we can pull 15 day forcasts!!!

mmmm an extra spa treatment - yup that would've sold me too :)

See you at the port then and woo-hoo 15 day weather forecasts !! :teeth:

Shock horror - I found this thread on page 4

Well I think I'm now at 3 days before we go to WDW and I'm very very excited.

Come-on people let's hear it for the 18th May Wonder cruise - woo-hoo!!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Hope you have a great time at WDW!Yes,we are down to 14 days before we cruise out on the Wonder! We can't wait either!

Has anyone from our little group spent time in Freeport? The last time we took a taxi to the International Bazaar and shopped around a bit. We want to to a beach day, but question spending almost $150 for three of us to join in the Disney sponsored Lucayan Beach excursion. Any suggestions?

Dawn Hope

I think we are going to use Freeport as a "day at sea"...so to speak.

We are doing Atlantis (getting a room, doing the pools, etc.) and our beach day will be Castaway Cay.
DD wants to stay on the ship because that is the day the 10-12 age group takes over Common Grounds. I think I'll try to get my spa treatments on that day too.

If we get off at all, it might just be for a quick shopping trip.

Luvstiggertoo

Have you been on this cruise before? Do you know if hanging out at the commons room would be something that most of the kids in the 10 to 12 year old group would think was cool? Do you or others know if you can just sign up for the Lucayan Beach excursion the day before if we decide to do that?

I've never been on this cruise.
DD has just been reading up on the various activities and she really thought Common Grounds was pretty cool.
She was disappointed when she discovered that it was for 13 and up only.
Then she read the navigator for the 10-12 group and saw that they "take over" Common Grounds on the Freeport morning.
She was very excited.

Just checked our forecast...

Sunday in Cocoa Beach...."Plenty of Sunshine" High 80
Monday in Nassua....Sunny High 85

Looking good!!!

Ooo the weather forecast is looking good for our cruise and indeed for our whole stay in WDW.

We're doing the same and pretending we're at sea when we stop at Freeport. Also intend on going to the spa that day ;)

I just got my clothes together this afternoon ready for packing and I've changed all but one of my cruise outfits - I think this was just because I was trying to make myself busy so as not to keep looking at the clock.

So cannot wait :Pinkbounc

meb51,
This is our 2nd 4 night with the Freeport stop. You may make reservations the day prior to an excursion (if there is availability). Something like the Lucaya Beach Day probably would not sell out.
Shopping is basically the same in both ports - the difference being that you are able to walk to the shops in Nassau and must take an interesting taxi/van ride in Freeport. We tend to get off the ship in Nassau, spend about an hour or so shopping around and then head back to the ship. I am considering a beach day in addition to Castaway Cay and am contemplating Lucayan Beach. Since we live 15 minutes to the beach, I won't spend $150 for three of us to do what we are able to do on a regular basis. Still, there is something different about those Caribbean beaches...

I'll see you at the spa on the Freeport day FantasiaSam. That's my plan too - woohoo Absolute Face and Body awaits!.

Also I called DCL today (per the passporter's recommendation) to find out what movies will be playing on our cruise (more for my honey then for me). They told me the following:

Chicago
Sweet Home Alabama
The Recruit
Treasure Planet
Shanghai Nights
Bringing Down the House
Harry Potter - Chamber of Secrets
Jungle Book 2
Piglet's Big Movie
Holes
Lizzy Mcguire

I am excited as I have not seen Chicago yet and am looking forward to seeing it on DCL - unless I am too busy with all the other fun stuff.

Now only if it were May15th/03. Been through the list checked it twice, we'll still probably forget something, but thats OK, as long as we have the kids and the tickets. It sounds like we have a great group of DIS'ers on the cruise. From all over the US., UK, and Canada. Were looking so forward to this trip.

Sam- Have fun in WDW before the cruise.
We will try and look for you at the Radisson May 17th.
Disneygal58- We have had friends that did the Lucayan Beach Resort in Freeport
and they thought it was worth it. The Resort was beautiful and right on the beach. $150.00 for 3 people including transfers and light lunch, not bad. Considering the rooms are probably more for the day.
To Everyone else- We are spending Nassau Day as a Day at Sea and wish everyone a safe trip to Port Canaveral.

Where your lime green something, and if someone wants to set up a meet let us know.

Our nightly prayer: May God help us manage to make it to the Ship safely and without trouble,
May the weather be Sunny and warm and the seas be calm,
May we experience inner peace and Rest and relaxation,
May we meet and make new and
great friends, build memories and fill Dreams.
And God please help us save for the next DCL vacation real fast!!! Amen:Pinkbounc

Jim - I'll be sure to look out for you I think I'll know you just from looking at the pictures of Jocelyn, so pretty. BTW I love your prayer it made me smile :) Amen to the saving for the next one ;)

fredms - Well I haven't seen Chicago either so that's great news and I can't wait to see Jungle Book 2 - thanks ever so much for calling them and letting us know :)

Oh it's getting so exciting now.
