ya keep the rain lol

its warming up today its 2c. slowly melting away, so that means that next week should be flood watch.

I have a random question.....

What does your Disboards user name stand for?
Some of the user names are pretty easy to guess like "Noodlesmom" I would think that you call one of your children "Noodle" and you are the mom, am I right?
Some I have no idea about like "Speed Figure" - my DD thought that you might be a speed figure skater (never heard of one but you're so creative that I'm sure that if there were such a thing as a speed figure skater then you would be able to perform it :goodvibes)

I'll start...."Shasess" is the first three letters of my first name (Sha) and the first four letter of the maiden last name (Sess)....Get it, Sha sess.

Sorry I havent been on in awhile. First my hubby came home last Wednesday from work really sick, so I had to take care of him, then Early Saturday morning my son woke up throwing up (about 5am) and that lasted all day...finally sunday we all started getting back to normal. Today I have to pick up my puppy from the vet cause Saturday we decided to board him at the vet, so that would be one less person I would have to take care of...already having to take care of my hubby (Mike) and Chris. And I miss my pup tremendously! :rolleyes1

Also long story short, Mikes Grandmother (I call her my grandma as well) is in the hospital and has been for over a week. She has heart failure and also kidney failure (as we just found out). They just put her on dialysis the last couple of days to drain some of the water off of her. The bad part is that she doesnt even live here...she is down here visiting My in laws and us from Michigan...and as soon as she got here, she was basically put in the hospital. She is doing much better than she was, but its still a slow process and we are not sure when she will get out of the hospital. :confused3 We know that it isnt a GREAT diagnosis but we are all trying to stay positive for her sake and ours.

Anyhoo...sorry about all the downers, Is anyone doing the dolphin encounter?? Hubby and myself have booked it for Chris. Since he is so young, there are very few excursions that he could do, or would enjoy and we thought that he would love that one since he loves Dolphins and animals in general (like his mama)

Im so excited for this cruise, as I feel that we all need a well deserved vacation :thumbsup2

Shawan! I'm glad you asked because I had been thinking that lately, too!! I think "ottermouse" was the one that made me start wondering! :confused3 :rotfl2: I can figure out some of them...Mati, Kym, etc.

Mine is pretty simple...my kids names & ages when I joined the DIS before our first cruise. At that time, of course, I thought a Disney cruise was a once-in-a-lifetime trip and that we'd probably never get a chance to do it again. I'm glad I was wrong! But now, as my sig says, I'm Hudson7&Lennon5! I probably shouldn't have put their ages, but oh well. ;)

You are right on the button!
I am a semi-retired Figure Skater (doing that for about 15 yrs) and a full retired Semi-pro Long Track Speed Skater (did that for 4 years full time). So since I have done both (also short track speed skating), I got the nickname of Speedfigure. Now I am just coaching Figure Skating in my spare time. Had to retire from Speed Skating due to medical conditions .
Since I live in Utah, I can thank the Olympics for my passions. I have all the resources here and use them to my abilities.
I LOVE to ski as well....funny thing is- I get cold SO easily, I freeze if it's below 80. hahah but yet I LOVE Winter Sports, and I do not like Summer stuff (Boating,, etc.) haha

I'm starting to feel a bit better and ran some erronds today-- knowing my luck it will put me back in bed all day tomorrow. Last time I got sick was in Hawaii. Too much Scuba Diving lead me to severe Sinus infection. So it's good I'm sick now, and NOT on the cruise!

As the Jeans, my husband informed me that he has no clue what he is going to wear....He HATES dress clothes, but he said he doesn't know if he'll feel comfortable wearing jeans (except in Parrot Cay cause it's more of a relaxed looking dining room -- in his words). haha
So looks like I need to put my wardrobe skills into work and force him to look for clothes. I know he has a pair of dress white shorts that he'll wear. I think it's just up to you with what you want to wear. I think jeans is just fine, as long as you have a nice top on- not just a plain t-shirt. It's too much fun to dress up!!!

Ok, I'm going to go back to the couch....

Oh and the Tink FE is cute, I know my FE's are 8 inches wide....I think the max I read is to have it around 10 inches. It's up to you!

I just really like Pooh Bear, and food!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Plus when I first joined I thought the names has to be something to do with Disney!

Your right Shasses. We call my son "The Noodle." It started when he was a baby. When we would go to change his diaper, he would for some reason arch his back and curl his feet up like he was stretching. It was just his thing and he would do it every single time we changed him. We joked about how he looked like a spaghetti noodle or something when he curled up. He has been going by "The Noodle" every since. He's a junior so we needed a nickname. I wish we would have never started it because he will be 20 years old and our family will still call him Noodle. I don't even think that some of his younger cousins know his real name.

Wow, who would have thunk it?????? You are a very interesting and talented young woman!!!!!!

Definitely no for me...probably not for Justin, unless he "bonds" enough with some of the other guys that he would want to once we get onboard.

Now I wonder who all is up and posting this morning so far, besides Belinda at 4:45 AM!!!! WUWT?!?! ;)

The "bonding" must be a guy thing!:rotfl: Sounds so much like Shawn.

Oh, the 4:45AM post:lmao: I get up at 4AM to get ready for work. I have to be their by 5 so I always try to hit the boards in the morning before I go in. It helps start my day on a good note!!!;)

I think she decided to keep late dining because main would've interfered with their VR on Thurs.

I'm so excited to actually meet all of you!! It's going to be a great cruise!!!

Val hit it just right! I had to stay with LATE dining because it interferred to much with all the VR plans and bookings that we already have scheduled.....princess:

You might be surprised!! Maybe just come & try it out! The martinis we had last night were not "traditional" ones. My favorite (Seduction) is made with Frangelico, Kahlua, Chambord, and cream. YUM!!!

Here's a pic of the 4 of us after the last race.

Here's one of Drayco & me.
DSC_0012-1.jpg

Val is right! Just come out and give it a shot!! If anything, we'd love your company;)

I love your pictures Val. You look like you had an amazing time! And the pictue of you with Drayco. Beautiful. The doggie is so cute and your just a beauty!;)

Don't stress out too much about the dress. You will see a wide range on formal night. Most people wear a party like dress rather than the full prom dress type. I have always worn a black dress with some type of sheer ruffle or cute design. I don't think any of us will outdress Belinda (BellaMickey) since she'll be fancied up!!:woohoo:

Awww...thanks. But I think all of you will be the beautiful ones!!!:cloud9:

well you can add me to the list of who's going

me and DW(nick and janice) first DCL cruise not first cruise (carnival) staying in cat 12 gty

also my mom and brother (marc and joan) have another room also cat 12 gty

It's going to be a great cruise!:thumbsup2

JorDan - I hope you are starting to feel better! Get lots of rest!! We are getting close and want you well!:flower3:

Awwww, that's such a cute story!

Oh, I forgot to tell what I did yesterday morning when the boards were down! I filled out my online registration (need to print them yet, though), I ordered Stay Certificates for the Hyatt @ MCO for the night after the cruise, I reserved the rooms at Hyatt, and I reserved our car service for Friday from the aiport to the Radisson! Yay!! (I obviously can get a lot accomplished when the boards are down...) Now I need to find & reserve a hotel for Thurs night in Omaha (flying out at 6 AM on Friday! UGH!) and reserve a rental car for Saturday after disembarkation. Oh, and FIND MY PASSPORTS!! (They're not where I thought they were!!) :scared:
Wow you really maximized your time! Have you found the passports? If not, it's probably not too late to get replacements.

I've been out of touch the past few days and just finished with the boards. Those of you who have me on facebook might have noticed that I met Brendan Fraser at work the other day. So work was busy last week getting ready for the event. Brendan will be playing my CEO, John Crowley, in a movie that starts to film in April.

THEN my dog got sick Thursday night. He kept shaking his ears, but it didn't look like an ear infection. He had me up ALL NIGHT and by morning he had a hematoma in each ear flap. So I was out of work on Friday, and that's usually where I check the boards.

Later this week I should be able to read the boards from home - YEAH! I'm putting to rest my 6 year old computer and replacing it with a brand new one. For the past few months it's been difficult to do a lot on my home computer because it's so slow. My new one should arrive on Friday.
Give up some more information about the movie! I'm on FB but don't really check it that much (too many sites to keep up on). I hope your puppy is better. Congratulations on the new computer. I always get hand me downs since Jim is a computer geek, we get the "surplus" stuff from work.

well you can add me to the list of who's going

Welcome to the group!!! We have a couple of cut offs coming up on April 1. If you would like to be part of the Fish Extender Group just let me know and I'll add you to the list. Also, we are ordering lime green braclets to better identify ourselves to each other. They will be about $1 - $2 each. If you would like some, just indicate how many and -___ will add you.

I have a random question.....

What does your Disboards user name stand for?
What a great question. My two boys were in Scouts from the time they were 6 (well Brendan was a legacy kid, he's actually been going to scouting events since he was 3). Just prior to me joining the boards Brendan earned his Eagle award. Steven got his in 2005. I was surrounded by Eagle related project stuff and had just finished Brendan's Eagle ceremony. Therefore, 2 Eagle Mom came to be.

Shauna - my heart goes out to you and your family. We recently went through a very similar situation (heart & kidney failure). My one piece of advice to you would be to make sure to take some time for yourself (it might not be a lot of time, but take little breaks if you can). By the time it was all over, I was so run down, that I was laid up in bed for a couple of days with one of the worst colds I've ever had. I'm convinced that my body just needed to recoup from everything. Ok, one more piece of advice - people are going to want to know what they can do to help. If you are visiting in the hospital all the time and don't have time to do much else, ask them to prepare a dinner that can be reheated. Soup, lasagne, stew, etc. To not have to worry about going to the store to grab something for dinner will be one less thing you have to do. One of my coworkers insisted on making us some soup and it was fantastic to have that in the fridge when we got home from the hospital.

I've been working on my FE artwork today (I SO wish I knew how to use Photoshop properly) I've got our names worked into some artwork, now I just have to see if adding some interfacing on the bags that I found will make them stiff enough. If they come out I'll post a picture. If not, JorDan I'll be begging you for some assistance...

Sonya - I finally finished your food report. Can you email me the pocket itinerarys you mentioned? I have a format that I've used in the past, but a one that fits onto an index card sounds so much easier.

Below is our list of our ADRs (or plans) I haven't been able to scour the dinning boards, let me know if you've heard of any really bad reviews:

I have a random question.....

My Dis Name is the very 1st car i bought with my own money!!

(I don't have a pic of Mine-This is a reference)

Ok, so let's see if I can catch up. You guys have been chatty today! :thumbsup2 LOVE IT!!!!

Tiffany & Crystal, have you both added to the list for early dining.

Val -- the story of you and Drayco is GREAT and the picture is fabulous. It looks like you had fun!

Kym -- thanks for the warning. I bought the SPF70 because it was on sale at Costco  . You are right about spending $200 every time we go -- sounds about right for us! Your story on the sunburn is pretty scary. Maybe I need to buy a good hat????

How do we handle the linking if there are subgroups within groups? (thinking of Val with her family for example) Right now we have 24 people to link for early dining and haven't yet heard from everyone. I am thinking a 24 top table will be a bit too big for them. :lmao:

I did ping the lady about my FE and heard back. I am number 4 in line so hopefully in another week or so will get it! Still makes me nervous even though we have plenty of time!

Carole -- will put you down for the tea. Hopefully we will get new navigator's soon and can make a decision on time/day for the tastings & tea.

FYI... I have told our little boys that if they were to get separated from us off the ship for any reason that they could just look around for someone wearing the same wrist band as they were and they would be able to trust them to ask for help... Just a thought... :idea:Carole

Love this idea!!!! It will be nice to know there will be others on the cruise that we can rely on just in case....

Val -- find your passports! You are making us all nervous!!! Yoni will go apply for his tomorrow and we will expedite it just to be safe....

Tammy -- will work on getting Sabrina to email Carissa. Some days she is all over me about the computer and others, she couldn't care less. I will admit I have taken to helping her type her emails -- ummm...just a bit impatient. :rolleyes1 It is her "writing" them, I am just her secretary.

Also -- Tammy, hoep your dog feels better soon!

:cheer2:WELCOME YANJAN!!!!:cheer2:

We are glad to have you join us!!! It is a great group on this board!

Shawan -- your random question, I think my userid is obvious. We live in Texas but with my husband being from Finland -- we are all in a sense Finns as well. After living there and visiting so often, it is a second home country for me! Now, to just get the language down....

Shauna -- so sorry to hear about everyone being sick and Mike's Grandmother. Hang in there and Jane is right, take the help people offer and try to find some time for yourself. We don't want you to get sick too!

As for the dolphin encounter, I think Kym and her family are doing it. We decided to lay by the beach instead this time -- leaves us something to do next time! :thumbsup2

JorDan -- glad you are feeling a bit better. Hope you get completely better soon. Still love the whole skating thing. Would love to hear about your whole experience one of these days. Sounds like a great story!

Tiffany -- LOVE the story on your screen name!!!!

Jane -- love the restaurant list! Sonya -- booked Ohana for the 24th. Unfortunately could only get 9:35 time. The good thing is the fireworks are at 10 and there are EMH hours so maybe, just maybe it will still work out!

Would be up for a pre-cruise meet but only really in WDW the Friday before. We will be in Epcot if anyone wants to meet somewhere there in the afternoon?

Yannick (or Nick) -- I totally get it on the name. Yoni's name is really Joni but then everyone thinks he is a woman (until they meet him -- then they are really confused :rotfl:) so we started using Yoni when he came to the states.

Ok -- off to finish up dinner. Talk to you all a bit later!

Ok, so I'm pulling a "2-poster" reply as I don't think I an get everything into one! First off, you all have been very busy on the boards today!!!:thumbsup2

Ohh, wish I could help, but this looks like one of those math questions "If a train leaves Chicago at 9:00am going 20 miles per hour....." My eyes glaze over. But it's a great question about how the timing works on the ship. I haven't seen anything mentioned about how that works. I would think that we would switch to match up with the location that we are at, but then that might mess up a lot of people. Hmmm... maybe some of our repeat cruisers will know the answer. I'm just glad we are doing a DCL excursion.

Welcome back Kathy!!!

Yeah. I remember changing time on our first cruise on Disney, but I wasn't sure whether we'd go back 1 or 2 hours since Mexico doesn't do DST! I'm going to book the 9am snorkel and hope we can get there in time... (BTW I'm a geek and love math questions...)

Better safe than sorry!!! I think you've made a good decision. I'm kind of a "what if" type of thinker.
It was a TON of fun!! I didn't win big at the races, but that's okay. My BFF, though, walked out $70 ahead! She hit the exacta on each of the last two on races!! I don't have as many pics as I had hoped to get. We had a little confusing (but funny) situation after the races, which caused my camera to be left in the car for the rest of our evening :sad2: (more on that later!). Here's a pic of the 4 of us after the last race.

So the 4 of us are heading toward the door to find Justin in the parking lot, and I look over to see a dog, and I say to the girls, "Hey, he looks just like Drayco!" (Double take done.) "IT IS DRAYCO!!!!" It may be hard to tell this, but Drayco & I are actually inside the Fonner Park concourse. Why, do you ask, is Drayco inside at the horse races?!?! Wellllllll, he came along with Justin to pick us up, and when he tried to push the button to open the sunroof, he accidentally pushed the hatch instead, so of course, he took off right away (he's a "runner" whenever he's not on the leash). Since it was a nice day, the doors were propped open, and he just came right inside. Security had him when I found him, so I just told them he was my dog, and they gave him to me. I gave my phone to a friend and had her call Justin to see where he was & if he had a leash with him. (BTW, he was shocked to find out he was inside with us!) Anyway, in the middle of all this, my friend decided to take this pic of him & me, and since I had a hold of his collar, she had the camera, so when we finally got into the car, it got left behind for our martini bar fun. :sad2: That place is SOOOO cool! I really wanted to show it off to you guys. AND...I realized why Sonya looks so familiar to me! She has a twin on the other side of the world who works at the martini bar!!! She wasn't working last night, but she did stop in for a few minutes, and as soon as she walked in is when I thought of Sonya right away! Unfortunately, that was when I realized I didn't have my camera. I guess I'll just have to go back sometime soon! ;) WITH my camera!!

I'm with you...just don't want to do anything stupid! I have lots going on in life right now and if someone knew what I did for a living, I might be a good "ransom" candidate. (The funny thing is that if they knew my debt load, they definitely wouldn't want me!) BTW Beautiful dog and great story! Glad you had fun!

It sounds like everyone is gearing up pretty fast... Except JorDan .... Feel better soon.

Mati... Amaretto Sours are scrumptious!!! :drinking:
Sometimes you just need to go with the flow. I wouldn't lose any sleep over company coming... Are they coming to see you or your house? If it bothers them that much they can just take care of it themselves! :snooty:

I have decided not to be overly concerned with wardrobe... I was one of those that took way too many clothes last time. BTW isn't there still a laundry room for us to use? :laundy:

Cinda... Texas Holdem is a favorite with our guys so Adam would certainly have company if you want to bring your set... :joker: Are you driving? If not maybe Jason could bring his instead... as we are.

FYI... I have told our little boys that if they were to get separated from us off the ship for any reason that they could just look around for someone wearing the same wrist band as they were and they would be able to trust them to ask for help... Just a thought...

Have a great Monday all! :goodvibes
Carole

Carole, we are driving as well so we'll be glad to bring the set! Just remind us as we get closer. We even have an extra chips set I can bring...

I've never tried an amaretto sour, so I guess the cruise will be a first!

I'm not overly concerned with the wardrobe other than swimsuit gear (since that's my cruise "uniform.") I basically wear a swimsuit and some type of cover-up almost every day during the daytime hours... I'll get around to the "girly" clothes at some point...:rolleyes1 (I'm so NOT a girly-girl!)

That's a good idea of the "nice bracelet people." I'd even go so far as to make sure there is a room number on one of the bracelets so we could help the kiddos back to their rooms if needed (or a phone number that we could call)...

well you can add me to the list of who's going

me and DW(nick and janice) first DCL cruise not first cruise (carnival) staying in cat 12 gty

also my mom and brother (marc and joan) have another room also cat 12 gty

going there 3 days before to do UO.

Welcome!

Lucy is a nickname that some folks have called me for years. So, it's Lucy d (the) Dr. (since I am a doctor)! Little weird and geeky, but that's me!

My goodness. I was just gone for a weekend and now I'm totally out of the loop!!! So I'm going to magically try to catch up! :wizard:

Tequila&Margarita Tasting
Lynsey (did you decide to give it a shot?)

This will probably be a last minute decision, I've not totally decided.

...will you be offended if I wear dress jeans to dinner on casual nights?

Glad to hear your toe is feeling better! And I don't mind at all what you were to dining! Actually I didn't even know you could wear jeans so I might just do that on a casual night. I might keep this little bit of info to myself because if Jason finds out he will want to wear them every night. I think we've decided he will be in khakis (either dress or cargo) on most nights and then a black suit for formal and semi-formal nights.

I'm hosting a "Girls' Day at the Races" with some friends.

Your girls day sounded like soo much fun! I've only been to one horse race. Jason's company's regional office is in Lexington, KY and a year or so ago they held a weekend getaway at Keeneland. I loved it soo much and would really like to go again this fall!

I might be makeing an order tonight now! I hope you (and your cat) are feeling better!

I love, love, love Tinkerbell and I was thinking about ordering this and using it as my FE. Do you think that it will work?
This is very cute, I think it would work just fine! Great find.

We had a little confusing (but funny) situation after the races, which caused my camera to be left in the car for the rest of our evening

You girls look wonderful, I love your dog, that is one of the funniest stories ever, he just wanted to hand out with the girls! :goodvibes One of my dogs is a shadow but our other must be on a leash at all times becuase he loves to run too!!!

I have to be honest that I haven't shopped for the cruise at all:scared1: but I have the kids FE items (not packaged but have them) and have started making the FE items for the adults!
I cant' wait for the FE exchange and see all the little goodies!!! I was always the kid at Christmas that had to look through my stocking first to check out all the little things so I guess the FE is kind-of like my stocking.

well you can add me to the list of who's going

me and DW(nick and janice)

Welcome!!! I'm tired of the snow so please don't send it down this way! It finally starting to feel like spring.

I have a random question..... What does your Disboards user name stand for?

Well since you asked I might just have one of the easiest one's to figure out.. dis (for disney or the dis board), girl (ok this one is pretty easy), 83 (my birthyear).

Anyhoo...sorry about all the downers. Im so excited for this cruise, as I feel that we all need a well deserved vacation :thumbsup2

You are definately going through a rough time, we'll be thinking about you and your family!

I get up at 4AM to get ready for work.

I'm back! Shew, 4AM, you are a better woman than I am. I'd be useless all day long if I had to get up at that time. I stuggle getting up at 6 (you'd think after years I'd have gotten used to it by now).

Ok, I'm caught up alittle. My weekend shopping trip was semi successful. I got a little cardigan from old navy and one of those terry cloth swim covers. I'm not overly in love with it, but it was on sale and better than nothing! I found a really cure dress at old navy but they didn't have my size in the color I wanted and of course when I tried to come home and order it online it was one of the clearance items and they only had one color left. Oh well. I ate way too much though! My tummy has been gurgling at me all day today. I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to eat everything on the cruise when I feel so full after only two days. Hmmm, maybe it was the Cold Stone ice cream. I love that place!

Sounds like you have a full plate, and not necessarily a good one... Hopefully Mike and Chris are feeling better. Hang in there, sometimes heart failure can be managed medically fairly well...it just takes time to get the meds optimized. We'll be thinking of you all.

Hope you are starting to feel better! I'm wearing jeans, but not the faded out cruddy ones and definitely with a "dress" shirt. (I may even wear one of my "work" oxfords with my office emblem one night...) Wearing nice jeans is a treat for me! I can only wear jeans on the weekend, and generally those are for "outdoors" things. I can't even remember the last time I wore "dress" jeans! Don't worry though, I'll be dressed "appropriately" on formal and semi-formal nights!

We are soooo different! I'm totally NOT athletic and really admire athletes! I can't wait to hear you stories as I'm always interested in people who can do things I would kill myself even trying to do!

My Dis Name is the very 1st car i bought with my own money!!
Interesting!!!!! I always thought that Austin might have been your nickname or something.

Shawan -- your random question, I think my userid is obvious. We live in Texas but with my husband being from Finland -- we are all in a sense Finns as well.....

That's neat!!!! BTW.... I keep meaning to post that I am taking swimming lessons as well. Bright and early on Saturday mornings. I have 2 more classes left at my current level and I'm not sure if I am going to sign up for the next level. I basically just wanted to learn enough to be able to go snorkeling but now I am kind of enjoying it. I just learned how to do the breast stroke and it's a pain in the butt but I'm getting it.

Hi Shawan! Thanks for sharing my "pain". I learned the breast stroke recently too. I was going to quit -- especially because I can't make the next 2 lessons (garage sale then in Las Vegas) AND the time is just nuts BUT it turns out I accidently paid for April so I guess I am going to tough it out through the month. I am so nervous to move to "Master's" but at least it is a good workout. Did they teach you how to snorkel? I have NEVER been snorkeling and thinking about taking some lessons.

Loucinda -- first off, do you prefer Cinda, Lucy or Loucinda? You crack me up. I am an athlete wanna be. I try and try and try but really, am not a natural. There is a book out there -- Fit Fat Triathalete -- I am something like that! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

It is a bit like Christmas isn't it? I am sort of treating it that way and keep buying little things for the FEs (especially the kids) with no rhyme or reason. I think it is going to be like Christmas where I discover I have bought way more for the stocking than I thought and can't fit it all in!!!

Bummer on the dress at Old Navy.

Funny on the eating too much. Me and Yoni went to Outback last night. I had a salad and steak sandwich. It was yummy but I was stuffed for hours after. I was asking Yoni last night -- how do people do it? Eat a big meal and then turn around and eat a huge sundae just a few hours later?? He told me "practice". The only problem is, if I practice I will be the size of a house by the cruise! I guess I have to plan workouts in during the cruise and watch how much I eat so I can taste many things without feeling like a stuffed burrito! Sonya -- I don't think I can be a pro like you...

So, trying to watch Amazing Race from 3 weeks ago while I type and DIS is winning. My addiction to DIS has taken over my addiction to TV! :scared1:

Anyone read any good TR for WDW or DCL recently I should check out? :)
