~~~ May 16, 2009 ~~~ Western Magic ~~~
Evening all! Yoni is now an official American Citizen! :banana: He is quite excited and the party the neighbors had for him was really nice.
Belinda -- ok, will buy a dress I guess -- but no, no clue on what I am going to wear.... it is too stressful to think about! :eek: As for singing ummmmm...I am really really bad. Remind me on the cruise to tell you about my bachelorette party and a bad version of "Like a Virgin" :rotfl:
Have a good night everyone!!!!
YEA!!!! WAY TO GO YONI!!:yay: :woohoo:
Mati, I can't wait to hear that story!!:laughing: I can only imagine;)
Don't forget to post pics when you get time of Yoni's party. Would love to see them!
I bought a sleek black dress, a little low cut for formal night. Now, I just need to find some sexy shoesprincess:
Hope everyone has a great night!!
Ok -- I am pooped but Sabrina went to Sea World with my sister and her cousins and is still not home! While I wait, I figured to post the pics from the ceremony today.....
They named each country represented and had the person who was becoming a citizen from that country stand up. Here is Yoni, standing up when they called Finland -- pretty sure he was the only Finn!
JoniFinland.jpg
Here is Yoni taking the oath to become a citizen.
JoniOath.jpg
After the ceremony, I took Yoni's picture with the presiding judge.
Jonijudge.jpg
A small group of our closest neighbors threw him a small surprise party. He was surprised, he thought we were going to Outback! Here he is with my neighbor Cathee...
JoniParty.jpg
Finally -- Yoni showing off his naturalization certificate (he has an odd expression on his face but it was the best shot) -- now we just need to get his passport!!!
Jonicertificate.jpg
Ok, so Sabrina is home (finally) and I am soooo tired. Thanks for all of the well wishes. Jane -- I saw the thread on the magnets and saved them!!! Now, to just figure out how to add names, etc....
Good Night!
Now, just 8 weeks until you two can really celebrate!!:beach:
CONGRATS YONI!!!!!!party:
Good Night!
Thanks for the pics. It feels like we were there with you!
Sonya - I've been reading more of your food review. Is it bad that I was reading it while watching a tape of The Biggest Loser? How long are you going to be in the parks before the trip? What ressies have you made? I'm rethinking a couple of ours just because I haven't heard really good things about some of them, but then I've heard bad things about trying to book dinning reservations since they implemented the new reservation system so I'm afraid of trying to call. Maybe we'll just wing it when we get there.
Well, I'm off to bed. I had a dentist appt - got a temporary crown and my mouth is hurting. Hope everyone has a good Friday!!!
Jane
Mati,
Thanks for posting the pix - what an exciting day!
Loved seeing it - it was like experiencing it with you :)
Finally found a photo of all three of us together - I'm usually behind the camera hanging on my arm here, so family photos are rare. LOL! They took this one of us last summer at the State Aquarium.
Jane, sorry about your crown. That's no fun :(
The dining reservation system isn't too bad. I just booked a bunch of ressies for our June trip to the parks. We got everything we wanted except for breakfast at Animal Kingdom.
Good Morning Everyone! Hopefully today will be much calmer than yesterday. Of course a ton of work to catch up on and MIL comes in one week :scared1: and for some crazy reason, decided to let Kai stay home with Sabrina for the last day of Spring break :scared1: :scared1: but at least we are all home!
Belinda -- black sleak dress -- sounds great! My Hoochi Mama dress is black, low cut but not sleak. Me and sleak -- welllllllll....we don't do so well together. :laughing: I am still going to go look for a new dress, just not sure if I will find it. I did like the ones at Old Navy but like Jane, am usually hesitant to order clothes online. One time I ordered $200 worth of work clothes from Kohl's (and it was a HUGE sale so there were a lot). Only 1 shirt worked out of the entire bunch. It all went back....:guilty:
Like Loucinda, I hate to return clothes too but I hate to try them on at the store even more....:rolleyes1
Jane -- I am so sorry about the crown. I hope it all goes well and you feel good as new today!!!!
Sara -- LOVE the aquarium pic! Now, the backdrop, is that for real????
Jane, Sonya -- ok, am going back to re-read Sonya's foodie report (see, you will have a cult following :cheer2: ) but need some help. We made a decision to go to Epcot on the 15th, Magic Kingdom on the 24th and possibly back to Epcot on the 23rd. Any suggestions on where to eat with the kids? I am not sure I want to do a character meal since we will see a ton of characters on the boat but certainly don't want to waste our chance to eat at some fabulous places. On the 23rd we are planning on going to DTD, Goofy's snack place & TREX if that works out....still trying to figure the rest out.
Oh -- and almost forgot -- WELCOME to Ottormouse :cheer2: :cheer2: .
Ok, need to catch up with work today -- have a GREAT Friday!!!
Hey Everyone,
Hi Maty!
ongrats to Yoni! from the whole Boby family. Whoo hoo:cheer2:
Not to sound too crazy but what is the bracelets/bands that you all are talking about...I might have you guys sign me up for at least 2 :goodvibes
Sara -- LOVE the aquarium pic! Now, the backdrop, is that for real????
LOL! :thanks: and no it's not for real. They photograph you in front of a green screen and then you can choose from several different backgrounds :)
It's the aquarium in Corpus Christi. Love that place!
Sara
Tazgirl -- the bracelets are going to be a way for us each to identify each other on the ship. They will be lime green and have some writing on them for the cruise. Amanda (Tink113) is organizing it.
Sara -- I was wondering! Thought that was just too good of a shot to catch the shark just like that! STill a great photo!
We made a decision to go to Epcot on the 15th, Magic Kingdom on the 24th and possibly back to Epcot on the 23rd. Any suggestions on where to eat with the kids?
We will be at EPCOT that Friday also and we like to eat at the outdoor Mexican restaurant or the fish and chips place. I like these mainly because they are outdoors. My kids are older so they like things that are different also like the Restaurant Marrakesh in Morocco. We have eaten at the other places over in Future World such as the Coral Reef but tend to like the World Showcase places because of the variety.
You may want to take a break outside of EPCOT and go to Beaches and Cream or somewhere on the Boardwalk. Food tends to be a little cheaper at the Boardwalk. You can find all of the menus of course over at Allears http://allears.net/menu/menus.htm
Hi Sonya ~ You are correct :)! It is Bonine. All drug stores and stores such as Wal-Mart here carry Bonine. Many places even offer their own store brand for a few $$ less. By the way, it was quite some time ago that I read it, but I LOVED your dining report with all the pictures and hilarious commentary :)!! ~ Kathy
Thanks for answering! Thats on my Walmart shopping list! Luckily I hadn't laminated it yet . . .:rotfl2: And thank you for the nice comments!:goodvibes
I just read your report Sonya...I got a tummy ache just looking at all that food.
I'm starving myself now so that I can splurge on the cruise! I hope I can eat as much as you can--- there is too much to miss!!!
I want to be with you at the buffet, I may try things I wouldn't have thought to.
I love buffets! Such a good time to try things you usually wouldn't. Man, I am SO hungry right now! The diet has had a couple of very bad weeks!
Evening all! Yoni is now an official American Citizen! :banana: He is quite excited and the party the neighbors had for him was really nice.
!!!!
I am so pleased for you both!!! Great pictures!:banana:
!!
Well for your Epcot day I would definitely go for Beaches and Cream at the Beach Club - its just a 5 minute walk . . . a walk to heaven!!!! In MK I am addicted to Eeyore so we usually go to Crystal Palace - we love the food there! What age are your children?
Depends on what you are looking for. We always make it to the German Biergarden once each trip. It's a buffet so the kids have plenty of options, there's entertainment with the Ompa band (who doesn't love the chicken dance?). We also LOVE the fish and chips place. If you are in Future World, we've had good luck with the food court at the land pavilion. I agree with Sonya B&C is fantastic and I'm sure the kids would love it (just show them Sonya's pictures of her sundae and it will sell them). At the MK we love the sandwich place back by the Haunted Mansion (they have a fantastic tuna sandwich).
Tooth is much better, but I'm trying not to eat on that side. Going out to dinner with some girlfriends tonight to Elephant Bar need to decide if I'm going to have a frosty drink or dessert...
Sonya - they just opened up a Cheesecake Factory about 2 miles from my office. We haven't made it there yet but looking at your pictures, made me think that's where I'm going to ask to go for my birthday dinner next month.
Got to run....
Oh dear, hope the tooth feels better soon:hug:
You lucky thing, I love the Cheesecake Factory - we are going in May! Yet another marvellous thing that the UK hasn't discovered yet! :sad2: Imagine the state I would be in if I had one two miles from work . . . I would spend every afternoon in a sugar coma!!!!!!!:rotfl:
Columbia Harbor House has the tuna sandwich - it is good! I tried to recreate it at home but its never the same! There is also the Plaza Inn in MK - they do good sundaes and sandwiches!! Its a really good place for a lunchtime break actually - its quieter that counter service, but a good price! Don't forget you can also get the monorail to all the Monorail resorts on your MK day - Ohanas at Polynesian is meant to be great for dinner - and its eat all you like! We are going there for the first time in May!
Don't worry Sonya, We just got our first cheesecake factory in Utah a year ago.
We would go to Vegas just to eat there and at In-N-Out. BUT they are building In-N-Outs all over Utah now. HOORAY!!!! I'm in food heaven.
Now if only we could get a Tiffany & Co, then I'd be set. :D
Yoni looks fantastic! Like he could be in the secret service. Congrats again to him.
ok, I finally found a pic of us to share..its from our last Magic Cruise Oct 08. But we still pretty much look the same...only chris likes to grow taller on us for some reason :goodvibes
But here we are, and sign me up for 2 bracelets (cause I dont think I need one for Chris)
Wow -- you guys are fabulous -- did you know that?
So, just from a quick search at Allears.net, here is what I am thinking.....
Epcot -- snack snack snack or counter service at the Land like Jane suggested. Love the B&C idea but we are leaving early in the evening to freshen up and go out for dinner before coming back to enjoy the EMH. I am worried that will take too much time. I may take the kiddos there for ice cream though!
MK -- Dinner at Ohana -- that looks great! How hard is it to get reservations? I better get on it. Will probably do counter service for lunch and Harbor House looks good! Is it tuna like a filet or tuna like tuna salad? I am not a big fish eater but am known to enjoy my tuna salad sandwiches!
Thanks for all of your help!
Sonya -- I was looking at the menus on allears for B&C -- How on earth did you guys eat all of that ice cream? And the Kitchen Sink -- wow, a whole can of whipped cream!!! They aren't messing around are they?
Jane -- I am so glad your tooth is feeling better. I hope you still enjoy yourself tonight!!!!
JorDan -- you're right -- Yoni's sunglasses do make him look like secret service. HA! The government actually makes men wear jackets & ties and women wear dresses to the ceremony so he had to get all done up. He still wants new suits though so should be even spiffier for the cruise. Now if I can only convince him to get some highlights.....
Tazgirl -- LOVE the picture! Thanks for sharing.
I did get a picture from y'day of me and Yoni but not sure if I will post it.....I look so worn out! :scared1:
