~~~ May 16, 2009 ~~~ Western Magic ~~~
Welcome to all of the newcomers!!!! :yay:
Faith&Hope -- the FLKP tour is one that the folks on this board have talked about since almost day 1. It seems Val (the thread originator) is a FLKP fanatic and has been fantasizing about this for quite some time. If I remember correctly, they chose the western cruise specifically for the KLP on a stick in KW. I don't think you will see this as a DCL excursion -- at least not officially! :)
Good Morning Everyone!
Congrats to all those who were able to book their ressies! I will be so happy when it's our turn!!! The only things that I need to book are Palo brunch, dinner and the Rasul Spa Treatment. I have already booked my excursions independently. By the looks of things we will probably have to book Palo once we board. It's Ok, hopefully the shuttle for the Radisson will leave exactly at 10:00am (if not earlier) and we will be able to board and head over to RBD as soon as we get onboard.
Someone posted scans of the current menus on the main board. Here's the link....http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2091731
Check out my new ticker!! I saw it in a post on the main board and fell in love with it, so I HAD to have it!! :yay:
We were waitlisted for early dinner... we got it 2 nights ago.
I got ya changed on #1!
So, anyone up to trying to sit together? We have 2 girls ages 6.5 and almost 4. Our past 3 cruises, they have put us by ourselves. It would be great to have someone else at the table to distract them! ;)
We might be. There were other early ones that wanted to link ressies, too. We'll be a party of 6 with my parents, so I don't want to get split from them (which happened in our group of linked ressies last time), but I'm not sure how big they can make the tables. We'll have to see how many total want to link and who wants specific rotations requested--I'm probably going to request APLLAPL. I'd also want to double check with my parents first, too, to make sure they're okay with others at our table, too, which I'm sure they would be (but they're not DIS'ers :sad2: so I'm sure it'll seem weird to them). We were by ourselves last time, too, even though we were linked, but we were in the same area with everyone we were linked with. BTW, I hope you get the check that's coming to you...:rolleyes1
Thanks for filling her in, Mati! Yes, Kym, this is just a little thing that some of us have talked about doing on KW to try and taste as many frozen chocolate-dipped key lime pie on a stick (FKLP) as we can possibly get!!! YUM! My family is going to rent an electric car to get around to all the different shops--should probably walk it though!!! :lmao: Who knows...maybe it'll be such a great time that DCL will make it an official excursion! :rotfl2:
Are there any other American Idol fans in the house that will be disappointed that the finale will probably be while we're sailing?!?! :sad: I saw a thread on the main board about the ship not having Fox stations!! :scared: The finale date isn't set yet, but it's always around the same time in mid-May. Last year, we were OOT on finale night, too, but at least I was able to watch it in our hotel room (and called my BFF to find out at the same time only to realize that I was in a different time zone, so she knew already!! WOOOOHOOOO DAVID COOK!!).
Welcome Bella!!!! :yay:
If I include the two of you we will have 24 cabins with 25 men, 28 women and under 18's - 7 girls and 11 boys.
We have a spreadsheet that has all the breakdowns so if you would like a copy of it, just send me your email address and I'll send it to you and include you on the updates (about once a week or so depending on the amount of changes).
Jane
Count me in then please! Have got my DH all excited at the thought of sneaking round smuggling things into people's extenders!! We feel very James Bond right now!! :rotfl2: (Not sure that Daniel Craig ever went on a Disney cruise, but still . . . a girl can dream)
For those of you staying at Port Canaveral on Friday night, do you have any recommendations for dinner? I have seen a lot of people mention eating at Grills in their trip reports. Has anyone eaten there before? Any other recommendations?
Oh great...now I have one more thing to try to plan. :lmao: Better get started on that one! Hopefully someone has some recommendations! popcorn::
We'll be there the whole day too so if anyone has any suggestions, that would be great. We arrive late on Thursday and are staying at the Four Points. I was thinking we may walk to the beach but we'll see. I think we can use the pool at the Radisson so that may be an option....
We have eaten at the Grill several times and really like it. It gets you in the relaxation mood. They have a live band that plays.
We have also been to Fishlips, which is just a few doors down. Can't go wrong with them either. Both can be checked out online. Both are ring on the channel soyou can watch ships leave. That is really fun.
Thanks for the info!
I'm 23 and my DW is 25. We'll be joining you along with our 1yo DS. :goodvibes
Welcome to our group:welcome:!
I have a friend who lives down at the Port, so I'm going to ask him what his recommendations for dinner are. I'll let you know if I hear from him!
So you must be a repeat cruiser? I'll add you and your info to post #1! Is there anything else you want me to put? BTW, we have Palo dinner at the same time!!
Our info is:
Johnathan (36)
Patt (60)
This will be our first 7 night cruise. We did a 4 night cruise back in 2005 and loved it. We're planning on arriving at Port Canaveral on 5/14 (staying at the Radisson) so that we can relax and tour Kennedy Space Center. After the cruise, we are heading to WDW for 10 nights at Boardwalk Villas....it's a mega vacation, and I can't wait!!:banana:
I really am happy about our Palo Dinner time (bet you are too!). I like that fact that dinner will begin while still in port!
Welcome to our group. How exciting to do a vow renewal on the cruise - I thought about it but decided to wait.
I've added you to the list and I got your PM - will send you the spreadsheet later tonight. I think Jim and I will be more Maxwell Smart and Agent 99 (the TV version) than 007. I foresee missing rooms and having to go all over the ship more than once (oh well at least we'll get some exercise).
We do need to start talking about meet times. At least the first time so I can make sure to get everyone the FE list. Since we will be in WDW the last week before the cruise I'm hoping there won't be alot of cabin # changes. We get free internet access at OKW so I'll be able to check every night or so.
I'm getting SO excited!!!:dance3:
