DH and I are considering wearing pirate costumes to the pirate party (and dinner that night). Has anyone done this and is anyone planning on dressing up for this cruise?

We might as well start a weekly countdown!!!!

My plan is to buy/ make (will most likely be buy my mom a FE, I have no talent for that kind of stuff):ssst: for a surprise. So that each family can have their own.

Congrats on snagging a great dress! I think I'm going to try and make our fish extender too. This should be interesting because I'm totally not a sewer but I saw on one post where someone did there's using all the iron on stuff.

I like the idea to having a group name and pirates and FKLP would work great. Now it's just getting creative with it like FKLP Pirates Invade the Western Caribbean.

I like them! They look very cool!:thumbsup2
Last cruise, we went to Palo on Pirate Night so we didn't really get to enjoy all of the "festivities." pirate: Assuming we get to go on the cruise, we probably won't dress up a whole lot. Maybe just a "pirate" hat or something. If DH can't go and I decide to go and bring a friend (yes....I have several "volunteers"), we probably wouldn't dress up. We'll know pretty soon though as DH starts in new job tomorrow morning!

We will def dress up again!! loved it!

Anyone want to take on scheduling the meets?
I mentioned the ones we had on our previous cruise. Any other returning cruisers want to list theirs so we can see more options? :goodvibes

I'm not sure the entire group (ok the guys)are as passionate about the pie as a couple of us are.
Justin sure is! I wasn't sure he'd be up for it, but he liked the sound of it! We'll probably take our electric car around to all the different shops. Ooooh! We still need to get a list of all the shops made! ::yes::

I think I have reached my smiley limit for this message. No wait for it, wait for it ...
:thanks:. Okay I am a total nerd what can I say?
If you're a nerd, then I'm a nerd, too! I love the smilies, too! :rotfl2: (I see they've changed the list on the right of the posting box, so some of my "standards" are not there anymore. What a pain to have to click on "more" and scroll through them! :snooty: Ha!)

I LIKE 'EM! pirate: I'm not sure yet if we'll be dressing up or not. Depends on how much room we have in the suitcases!

FWIW, here's what I did. I just printed out my stuff on regular paper, laminated them, and used 3M brand MagnaTabs. They're reuseable sticky magnet squares and are probably much cheaper! I never actually priced the magnet paper, but I've always heard they're expensive.

OMG! I hope I haven't sent anyone on a wild goose chase for these!!! I just looked at my package, and they're NOT 3M brand! Here's the only link to them that I could find. http://www.containerstore.com/browse/Product.jhtml?CATID=69021&PRODID=69209 I paid less than this for mine at Menards (~$4). The back of the pkg says the company is Kane Graphical, but even the website doesn't have them on it. Hmmm... :confused3 I hope others are able to find them! If not, maybe I could get some and send them to anyone wanting some. I'm not sure if Walmart, etc., would have them or not. I've never looked there because I knew I could always find them at Menards.

morning all, we are back from our weekend at Disney....we stayed at Magic Kingdom until just after one last night...we are some tired pups!

hope everyone is well!

I'm starting to stress out a little about booking our flights. I'm perfectly comfortable booking everything else about the trip on our own, except the flights. :scared: I'm not a big flyer anyway (the last cruise 2 years ago was the first time I had flown since our honeymoon in 1997! ), so I'm not real confident in all the specifics of flight bookings anyway. Last time, we used our AAA TA, and we think we overpaid quite a bit. Now I see the same pattern happening again. We get quotes, and then she says that they jumped way up in price a couple days later (after talking to my parents) when we decide what we actually want to book. :sad2:

For those frequent flyers--is this how it usually is? :confused3: Will the prices go back down again or do they just keep going up from here (like the cruise!)? Right now, I'm frustrated that we didn't book the same day she gave us the quotes, but I'm also glad we didn't since we would've then missed the shuttle launch since we had originally planned a later flight but now we want to get to MCO earlier because of the launch. Aaaarrrrrrggghhh!! I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO!!! Can anyone give any advice please?!?! :worship:

Oh, and also, if I do book them on my own, can I book for my parents at the same time, too, or do they have to do their own and just hope they get the same flights that we do? I feel so uneducated about this. :worried:

Everyone's pirates outfits look soo great. I don't think I'd be able to talk DH into it though, so we'll probably do the standard bandana or a hat. I might even try to find some type of pirate inspired t shirts! pirate:

I'm still all in on a meet on the first day, it seems from other's trip reports the promenade lounge is very popular! I'm also loving the idea of the FKLP!!! Too bad they don't have a key lime pie smiley!::yes:: This guy is green so he will work.

I ordered some iron on patches to start working on our fish extender!!! I can't wait to get them in. Now I need to go get some fabric. If it turns out decent I'll post some pics.

sorry no help with flights....we flew in 2000 and then only again last year from CA to FL...booked on our own through Frontier.
I think you can get better prices on your own. Have you checked kayak.com?

Not yet, but I will. I'm not happy with Travelocity, Orbitz, and Expedia because I'm given a decent price until I actually select it, then it says, "Sorry! That price is no longer available" and then it goes up quite a bit. I'm so frustrated I could just . Why do they tease me like that?!?!?!

ETA: Okay...my venting is over. :) Sorry. Thanks for letting me do it! I think Kayak is the way to go! No funny business like the other ones...and the same or lower prices, too! :yay:

Too bad Allegiant Air does not go to Orlando from Grand Island. We have flown with them before and they are good and cheap.

Good news! :cool1: DH found out today that vacation shouldn't be a problem for him in May (thanks to his new boss), so I'm pretty sure we are going!:cheer2: :cool1: :beach:

We can fly Allegiant from here (literally 5 minutes from my house) for about $300 total round trip. We can drive it in about 10-11 hours. I can't decide whether it's worth the hassle of a rental car, returning it, picking it up post-cruise, parking (likely through Radisson though), etc. and the cost of the flight or whether we should just drive! I like the freedom of my own vehicle, so I'm thinking we may just drive. Decisions, decisions...:scratchin

As far as meets go, I haven't ever done many so can't add much. I'll help however I can though. I am interested in the Key West pirate lunch and electric cars (with KLP) still.

Anyway, hope everyone isn't too cold. It snowed 1-2" here today (which is a lot for here)!

YAY for you, doc!!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

I KNOW!!! My TA had mentioned that there was some talk of Allegiant bringing in GI to MCO flights but said probably not before May. :(

:sad2: I have been watching the currency exchange rate for the past few weeks, and its makeing me sad!!! lol It is going lower and lower every day:crazy2: I still need to change over 2000 from CND to USD!!!

I hope it raises soonpixiedust:

Like the heading says, if anyone on our cruise with a cat 12 cancels, PLEASE pm me. I am desperately trying to get my sister and her family a cat 12 as well as my BIL and his family. In fact, I am kicking myself big time for not booking our cat 12 with 4 adults instead of 3. I would really like for DS (19) to bring his friend along, but my DU agent keeps checking and she cannot add another person to our steal-of-a-deal cat 12 reservation (3 adults with transfers for $2113 :) )!! Does anyone have any suggestions? I really don't want to pay the big increase and bump up to a cat 11. When it comes to a Disney vacation, I really think that the more the merrier is very true. Thanks to anyone who can help :)!!

Is that your husband in the picture with the bagpipes? My daughter loves all things Celtic. We went to the Highland games at Grandfather Mountain in NC this year. We also go to about all of the Celtic concerts in our area NE TN.

We also got the cheap cat. 12 rooms (X2). Four people for <$2,400. I just kept checking on http://www.kayak.com/
