You can stay at one of the delux resorts cheaper than you think, I bet. It depends on when you go of course. We have stayed for seven nights at the Beach Club Villas in September for about $1,100, that is total price including taxes. That is the only place we stay now. I can help if you need to figure out how to do it, we rent points from other people. The main thing is that the Beach Club gets filled up quickly so you have to know pretty far in advance when you want to go.

My wife and I are also trying to get down on the weight a little bit. I purchased this book for her and it is pretty good. Actually good for men too.

It is highly rated on Amazon. I bet they have it at your local library also.

They also have a discussion group about the book here (even if you don't get the book it is still a good discussion group)

Any other ideas on what works?

Hello everyone! I am almost back to myself again after being sick for 9 days (yes, 9 days). I was in bed 6 of those days and the last 3 have been up and down. Boy, that's the sickest I have ever been in my entire life. My husband took me to urgent care and had bloodwork and chest XRays done. I'm glad that's over but the deep cough still lingers.

Oh no -- I am so glad you feel better!!!!

As far as the FE list, is it current in terms of everyone still wanting to participate? Have some of the people signed up a long time ago and haven't responded on the boards at all? Also, for those of you who signed up with multiple rooms, will all the rooms be participating in FE? Last cruise, the list was made with everyone in the party (like 3 rooms) but only one participated in FE so the numbers were off. Just a thought. If the number is 30, can't find the time to make something cool and creative for that many!
Val....I haven't started thinking about FE items yet. I have a homeade FE from last year that I am going to use this year. I don't have time to make another one and ours is personalized so at least that's done.

I got another idea for a FE gift that just might work but mine won't be cool and creative. It just sounds like sooo much fun -- I can't resist! Val -- if you don't participate, at least put your FE out -- I already have the boys on my list!

In terms of children, my prayers are with everyone. We started with a miracle baby (as I was told I probably couldn't carry a child) and named her Faith. The pregnancy came with complications during, during birth and for one year after. Then I miraculously got pregnant again and she was named Hope. So this explains my DISname! After 2 pregnacies, my body decided it was finished on it's own and had to have surgery. Invetro is not fun and the timing just stinks. I have a friend who tried and tried for 8 years...finally got pregnant with one child. Then naturally got pregnant again in 4 months (yes, 4 months) with twins. She had 3 kids under the age of 2! Just don't have 6 embryos implanted like the crazy lady here in CA! She'll never get a vacation....I have 2 kids and love my vacations!!:rotfl: .

What a beautiful story! I can't wait to meet your girls!

I'm trying to catchup with who has what diner. We were waitlisted for main and were changed to main dining last week. I know there's a lot of you who are late dining....early diners...anyone up for chatting? Texfinn..are you waitlisted for early or you are set with late dining? Also, lillygator, have you been changed to early dining yet?.

We are definitely late dining. I don't see us getting it together for a dinner by 6pm. If the kids can't make it that late then we will get them dinner and take them to the show and then let them enjoy the club while we eat. If I know my kids, they will prefer to do that anyways. I think the only nights we will make them have dinner with us are the first night, formal night and our dinner at AP with the show. I also have already planned to not eat dinner in the dining room on Pirate night. I think we will eat in the room or Topsiders earlier so we can all go and enjoy the party. We are even hoping to dress up! Right now Austin and 2_Eagle_Mom are going to link with us. If anyone else wants to join, let me know. I will call it in in a couple of weeks.

Also, I have a 6.5 year old girl that would like to email someone her age. Anyone out there that would like to have a girl penpal?:flower3:

I PM'd you with Sabrina's and my email. She would love love love to email with another girl going on the cruise. She is 7 and in 1st grade.

Since this is our first cruise out Fish Extender adventure will not be that big, lots of other things on the cruise to think about. We plan to have a FE on one of our two rooms. We will not try to personalize gifts but rather give something unique from our area, maybe, not sure yet. I think that for the kids, and adults I bet, it would be good to get something even if it is small than nothing. Also I plan to give them out as I have time. That way you will never know when you are getting something.

<

I think it is just fun to get something as a little surprise isn't it? I love to give little gifts like that.

I am pretty open about the FE exchange. We will definitely participate. DD would be crushed if we didn't because we already made our FE. I've also bought a few of our FE gifts and they were very inexpensive. I will hold off buying any more until we decide if we want to go with one group or split them up.
On another note, are any of the ladies trying to lose a few pre-cruise pounds? I am trying to lose 15-20 and so I joined WW online last week. I'm not sure if this is a realistic goal, but I'm gonna give it a try. I've also started a step aerobics class this week and I am so sore that I can barely move :scared: !!

I am on an eternal diet :rotfl: . I lost 16 lbs in January but nada, zip, zero in February. I need to get back with it. I would love to lose 25 more but realistically will aim for 15 before the cruise. I was doing South Beach but fell off the wagon. I need to get back with it and start working out again!

My wife and I are also trying to get down on the weight a little bit. I purchased this book for her and it is pretty good. Actually good for men too.

Sounds interesting. I might have to look into that! I am always open to something new and EASY!!! Thanks for the tip!

Ok, so everyone seems to have perked up a bit! Is it true that the cruise is really only 79 days away like Tigger's ticker says? :scared1: I still need to figure out transportation, change the hotel for the days before we get there, lose 25 (ok, 15) lbs, get some clothes (Sabrina and Kai are growing like weeds) and on and on and on.

Good thing I am wfh today! ;)

Have a good Wednesday everyone!

:cool1: I figured out how to do multiple quotes!!! :cool1:

To pass along the knowledge (I read it on a TR from the WDW DIS board) -- to multi-quote -- click on the quote icon below with the + next to it. The icon will turn red. Click on all of the ones you want to quote and then when ready, click on Post Reply and voila! Woo hoo - - you have no idea the hoopla I was going through before!!!!:rotfl:

 Oh wow. Look at me...stirring up the pot :stir: about FE and then not being here to chat about it. I'm sorry! I think I'm questioning it because everyone else who is participating seems to be having a great time with their FE & gifts, and I just can't seem to find the time to finish my planning/packing list. :sad2: I have something in mind for a certain group on the FE list but I just can't seem to come up with any other ideas for the rest of them, and I apparently don't have enough time in my day to even try. :sad1: I think it sounds like a lot of fun, but I'm just trying to prioritize what free time I do have before the cruise. I hope I didn't give anyone a bad taste about it because that was NOT my intention. I just think (for now) it might be best if my family & I do not participate. When I saw that some people were already buying stuff, I thought I would mention the possibility before too many more bought for us and may not be receiving from us. Jane--you are awesome for keeping up the great list!!! Like I said before, I would still like to see everyone else's FE's as I'm walking the halls! :goodvibes

Well, I think I just got some disappointing news. I asked my TA on Monday to cancel our insurance so I could get it through Access America and save $250+, but she just called me back this morning and said since I've paid in full (even before the final pmt date, like I was told a couple weeks ago when I called), I apparently only had 10 days after that pmt to cancel it. I've heard of different CM's giving out incorrect/disputing info on other things, so hopefully this is one of them. I'll try calling again and see what I can come up with. I'm bummed that it might be true. :sad2:

Shawn and I have been trying for a little over 8 years now.....and have tried infertility pills a couple times. I got frusterated and just gave up....
Wow. I know how hard 3 1/2 were! I couldn't image 8! Obviously, we went a lot further with the infertility treatment, though...countless cycles with Clomid, then many more with Clomid & IUI, then moved up to Pergonal & IUI for several attemps, and finally (after switching to an RE) did Pergonal & IUI just one more time before trying IVF, and it worked! She just had that "special touch," I guess! (Yes, I can say that I got pregnant by a woman!) :rotfl2: We actually almost cancelled the IUI for the cycle that I got pregnant with Hudson, though. They lost track of the # of follicles on my ovaries after 24!!!!!! We were preparing ourselves to be the next McCaugheys (those people in Iowa with 7--they were born during the time of our treatments). But she obviously knew what she was doing to prevent that from happening, and we got our perfect little Hudson!

My inlaws are a little "pushier," but I just remind them that I'm the breadwinner for our family, so unless Adam gets a HUGE raise (which isn't going to happen), we have to wait!
We kept our treatments a secret for a very long time because we didn't think it was anyone else's business, especially our parents, who were hounding us about it quite a bit. Depending on where I was at on the roller coaster of emotions determined how I handled it. (New cycle starting--not a good time; mid-cycle/just after IUI/"waiting"--a good time).

So glad you got your little miracles!!

Val, How are your kiddos with harley stuff? Do they love it to? My Inquiring mind needs to know!!!!:rolleyes1 ;)
Of course they do!!

So far only things I can come up with are -- Disney playing cards (we love to sit somewhere quiet and play cards -- what can I say, we are geeks), a small (tiny, itsy bitty, smallest she can find) bottle of Crown, possibly a black baseball cap with Mickey on it? -- any other ideas?????
We must be geeks, too!! We have a monthly card club and play 10-point pitch. It's actually this Friday night, and they just don't come soon enough! WE LOVE IT!! BTW, Crown is one of Justin's few drinks of choice (with either Cherry Coke or Canada Dry & lime)...his others are premium vodka (Stoli, Vox, etc.) and PBR (can you believe that?!?! ). He got laughed at one time at a bar when he order Vox & tonic with lime, and when the bartender told him they didn't have Vox, he ordered a PBR instead. The guy next to him said, "How do you go from Vox to PBR?!?!" His smart@$$ reply was, "I have an educated palate." :snooty: :rotfl2:

Val -- you are bugging me with all this elliptical work. From all the pics on FB and on the DIS board, you appear to be this big around --> <--
Well, I think my plan has worked! I have you all tricked! When I was posting beach pics, I had to carefully select which ones to post so I could make sure my "problem areas" were well hidden! :thumbsup2 I have actually gained about 15 pounds since our last cruise, so I'd like to get it back off before I gain even more than that from eating nonstop on the cruise! :sad2:

I have tremendous respect for Val and those who work out and really take care of themselves though! I'm just not that good... I love to exercise WITH someone (because I'm a big talker), but HATE to do it alone! Since we are new in town, I don't really have anyone to "buddy" with. I'm at least eating healthier, so that's a plus...
Boy, I really do have you fooled! :lmao: I very rarely get on the elliptical and have just recently decided that if I don't start now, I'm going to be disappointed in myself when I can't wear that cute swimsuit that I want. It is so much easier to do it with a friend, so that's why I wanted to be on the computer with you guys while I do it!! I was on a good roll but that has changed now. I did it for 45 min on Sun & Mon but not at all yesterday and probably not at all today. :sad2: I just wish I had more time... :confused3 My house is suffering, too!

I'm just looking forward to coming back to our room and opening up what counts as our "mailbox" and NOT finding any bills or soliciations.
What a great way to put it!! :thumbsup2

Val - I've been pondering your question about how we can vote for AI. I know that we can get internet access on the ship (expensive, but possible) I also know that there are programs like Skipe that allow you to make phone calls via your computer. The question is - can we make calls via Skipe to an 866 number? I don't use Skipe myself, but my co-worker does. Unfortunately she is in Thailand till 3/2 so I can't ask her for info. Anyone have any experience with it?
Let me know what you find out!!! :goodvibes

I think Belinda & Shawn were going to try and link with my parents & us (if she got changed to early), but we could always link more than that. Does anyone else have a request for a specific rotation? I think I would like to have APLLAPL (Belinda, do you have a preference?), but if anyone wants to request something different, maybe those could be linked, too.

I PM'd you with Sabrina's and my email. She would love love love to email with another girl going on the cruise. She is 7 and in 1st grade.
Well, Mati, I hate to say this, but I just don't think the penpal writing is going to take off at my house like I thought it would. I'm sorry. :sad2: We tried to write back right after Sabrina emailed, and it didn't go so well. After Hudson got about halfway through it, he asked me if I would finish it for him, which, of course, I was not going to do. I told him we'd just finish it later, and I just haven't had time to help him again. :(

Well, I'm off to call DCL about that ins stuff and then head to work. Busy day again...

Mati

I just wanted to let you know that Jalen has sent Sabrina a email.

Concerning the naming of our group contest. The following are the nominations I have so far.

"The Keylime Castaway Crew"
"The Key Lime Pirates Conquer the Western Caribbean"
“Pirates of the Western Caribbean - Search for the FLKP treasure"
"The Key Lime Pirates Conquer the Western Caribbean"
"The Castaway Crew"
“Key Lime "Pie-rates”

I was thinking we could vote by Friday. What do you guys think?

Oh we finally have our room numbers Val. If you are still updating I will PM you our information for the 1st page.

 Oh wow. Look at me...stirring up the pot :stir: about FE and then not being here to chat about it. I'm sorry! I think I'm questioning it because everyone else who is participating seems to be having a great time with their FE & gifts, and I just can't seem to find the time to finish my planning/packing list. ...

No worries Val BUT, you have me worried -- should I really already have a planning/packing list? I haven't thought that far ahead...:scared1:

Well, I think I just got some disappointing news. BUMMER -- I know you were looking forward to that $$.

Ok, so all the talk on the DIS main thread about insurance has me wondering -- do we need it? I turned it down and right now haven't purchased any. Our health insurance via work will cover us out of the country and I thought I read the coast guard will handle evacuations in the bahamas, so other than a personal disaster -- do you think we need it? If I bring it up to DH he will say NO but am beginning to worry.....

We must be geeks, too!! We have a monthly card club and play 10-point pitch. It's actually this Friday night, and they just don't come soon enough! WE LOVE IT!! Yoni plays poker every Friday night unless we have something else planned. He plays Texas Hold 'em. We can't play poker against each other because I can read him like a book. I have never heard of 10-point pitch. I need to look that up. We have tried to get something going here monthly in the neighborhood but so far no big luck. We did the BUNKO thing for awhile but that fizzled out.

Yoni loves Crown -- it is his favorite. Otherwise, he drinks beer, Gin & Tonic or wine. What is a PBR? I know Yoni likes to try some so-called fru fru drinks (Bahama Mama comes to mind).

Well, Mati, I hate to say this, but I just don't think the penpal writing is going to take off at my house like I thought it would. No worries Val. Sabrina is 1/2 way through an email to Jalen and hasn't finished. They are funny -- trying to figure out what to say. Let me say, very short emails BUT it is good practice for her. I have given in and typed them for her a few times -- it is just so much faster if I type!

Maybe I should try snail mail ..... hmmmmm....that might even be more fun for them to get real mail.

Ok -- obviously having difficulty focusing on work today but meetings are beckoning this afternoon which will keep me on task!

Good luck on the Insurance issue Val!

I am voting for "Key-Lime Pie-Rates" - love it!!
Oh, are we supposed to PM you and vote secretly?!!

Now off to do some exercise. I am struggling bad with the diet willpower this week and I'm hoping this will take my mind off it for a while! Have sent Tony out to get some reduced fat beef mince - I am craving burgers bad so am going to make my own to cut the fat out. Its my own fault . . . wasted time today reading reviews of the burgers at Beaches N Cream!!

My wife and I are also trying to get down on the weight a little bit. http://forums.menshealth.com/eve/forums/a/frm/f/3971017124[/URL]

<

For my idea on what works I can only mention the workout I mentioned earlier - Charlene Extreme (by Charlene Johnson who did the Turbo Jam workouts). Its part cardio (all on the spot stuff, no coordination needed), but its mostly based upon lifting really heavy weights. As I mentioned earlier I used to be an exercise instructor, but doing 11 aerobic classes a week was nothing compared to this - it is changing the shape of my body so much! My DH is doing it with me as well - he has only ever done running before so its a massive change for him and he's loving it as well - he has never before managed to tone his upper body (sshh!!) but I can see such a change in him! Muscle is the way forward!!:rotfl2:

Apart from that we stick to 1500 calories a day and buy foods that are 5% fat or less, but that just sounds like dull old lecturing:goodvibes !! And 3 giant pancakes last night also proves I am a bad liar!!!!! But we try do that generally!

There is a diet board on the WISH part of the forums called "Disappearing Peeps" - come over and have a look sometime if you want people to chat diets or exercise with! We all weigh in on a Friday (not your actual weight, just how much you have lost) and everyone is really supportive.

No worries Val BUT, you have me worried -- should I really already have a planning/packing list? I haven't thought that far ahead...:scared1:
It's just my own list of things to do (car service & rental, Hyatt, etc.) and things to buy. I waited way too long last time and felt too rushed when I was buying a bunch of stuff last minute, so I'm trying to get a jump start on it this time.

Yoni plays poker every Friday night unless we have something else planned. He plays Texas Hold 'em. We can't play poker against each other because I can read him like a book. Justin plays occasional poker with the guys, but I don't. Pitch is more my thing. Our neighborhood is also starting up a Bunco group next week, too!

What is a PBR?
:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
If you don't know, you may not want to know!!! It's only about the cheapest beer you can find!! (aka Pabst Blue Ribbon) You either really love it or really hate it! Hey, the can says it was voted America's best beer in 1880 or something like that. (Have you ever heard "PBR me ASAP?")

Maybe I should try snail mail ..... hmmmmm....that might even be more fun for them to get real mail.
It might. I'll talk to him after school today about it.

Good luck on the Insurance issue Val!

I called DCL about the trip ins, and they can't tell me anything since I have a TA.

Tigger2002 - would you e-mail me the navigators as well? Marycat@comcast.net. Thanks - I need to get on the ball - have not been here in almost a month. DH just got laid-off so I am going to have to start handing the reins over to him while he has the time, and I am at work!

Sounds like we need to have a DIS friendly poker game set up.

My DH, Brother, and Dad like to play. Texas Hold Em seems to be the fav. My sister-in-law would probably play too... me... not so much.

who's got the biggest room? lol. :rotfl:

Anyway, regarding the FE:
We have 4 rooms & all 4 will be participating. We have a few good ideas for FE gifts, some homemade & some bought. Nothing too over the top. I think we would rather have one list, splitting into two might make it more difficult then anything.

I think I'm also going to make some special DIS stationary, but we'll see. ;)

I think it would be super cool if people don't know what to give or are super tight on funds that they could give......

A recipe card with your most favorite recipe! I think that is a super inexpensive, yet PRICELESS gift.

The key to a killer recipe for me is:
Must taste good
Must be simple to make
Must make people think you spent FOREVER

Any recipes for Key Lime Pie out there.... lol :rotfl:

OH excellent idea!!! I would love a recipe for a proper, American pot roast!!

Oh good news everyone - today I discovered a second store in the UK which sells Reece's Pieces! But still no sign of Graham Crackers in the Uk :sad1: so looks like I have to raid Walmart again and bring a suitcase home!!

Sorry, me again. Having a bit of a planning night!

What are you all doing for pirate night, costume wise? Do you all dress up, do nothing, or just a little something . . . I have found a pirate hat I like and was wondering if that is enough?

My nephews are going to wear Pirate costumes that I picked up at the Disney store on Clearance! :cool1: (Capt Jack)

I think the adults are just going to wear Pirate of the Caribbean T-shirt or something like that.

Hey! I think I may be getting swayed back into it!!! I LOVE THIS IDEA!! :goodvibes I have a huge collection of recipes! It would be an excellent way to remind us of each other again and again, every time we pull out that recipe card--even years after the cruise! I agree with Amanda's "keys" regarding recipes, and since Hudson got my extreme pickiness, :scared: I make things kid-friendly, too.

BTW, I've tried to duplicate a KLP, but it just isn't the same as KW. :sad2:

Brill, thanks! Have ordered myself a hat, and I will get a t-shirt to go with it.

Your nephews are going to look so cute!!!
