~~~ May 16, 2009 ~~~ Western Magic ~~~
The cab drive was $15 each way and it is about a 10-15 minute drive from the port. We bought the wrist bands last year and the trampoline is a blast. I'm not sure if we will get the wrist bands this year because I don't think our little ones can do much with it. The rock climbing was was really hard for me but DH got to the top in less than a minute. I'm sure your 19 year old will enjoy that. The food is really good at paradise beach and reasonably priced. I don't remember anything costing over $10. We usually spend between $70-$80 on food and drink and that includes a few buckets of beer and a few too many pina coladas.
Ditto on the cab fare & ride! We didn't do the wristbands because our kids didn't have any interest in going out that far into the water. I don't remember any prices of food/drinks, so I don't think anything was too out of line.
BTW, cute kids in your sig photo! :goodvibes
NoodlesMom ~ Thanks for all the Paradise Beach info :)! it sounds like just what we are looking for.
Did you see my pics a few pages back?!?! It's name really fits it!
Yes this is in Coz. The difference in the price is unreal. I just recieved my emailed confirm from them.
I think that I may try to make my own FE. DisGirl, what did you use to make the pockets on your FE. It looks like they are expandable. I am not artistic by any means but I think this would be a great project for DD and me.
Here is the thread that gave me a bunch of ideas when making our FE. There are a few posts on this thread that gives a good idea of the size. For the pockets I used plain fabric folded. I believe when folded the dimensions were 6 in. high by 11 in. wide. Then on the bottom of the fabric I made little pleats so that the top was still 11 in. wide but the bottom was 8 in. (I hope that makes sense). To keep the pleats in place I used the iron on adhesive (since I have nothing to sew with). Let me know if you have any other questions.
2-Eagle-Mom: I am also sorry to hear about your dad and hope that your family is doing well.
Hello everyone. We are almost there. One little trick is I have is dont count days count paychecks its a smaller number and it goes quicker. Anyway I just caled Dolphin discovery and booked my dolphon encounter. DO NOT book through Disney. First you have to wait to book, Second Kids under 7 are free for the encounter. All you have to do is pay for the park entrance. $5.60 for the child. Call 1-866-393-5158 ask for Anna. Anyone else will tell you that promo ends in April she booked it for me. The total cost I was charged was 161 us dillars Disney wants $423 for the same thing. No matter what experiance you are looking for the place itself is alot cheaper. The taxi ride over is between 10 and 15 dollars and takes about 10 minutes. As well that admissin includes the national park which looks beautiful
Good info. Do you have a website? There could be 9 of us. I wonder if there is shade to keep a 9 month old under cover. Anybody know?
Silly me, I forgot to post the link to the FE thread:
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1219607
There is some good directions on post #27. I think I'm going to try and type up how I did my "no sew" version and post in on the thread in a few days because I've had some requests. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who can't use a needle and thread!
I have copies in an eMail of Navigators from 1-10-09 seven day Western. They are in pdf format so I can't post them here. The file size is also large (three files over 6MB) so I can't put them up here.
.
If you would like copies of them just post your eMail here or send me a PM and I will send them to you.
.
The first one is very good as an overview.
Are they the same ones from the disneycruiser website?
http://www.*******************/m090124/westday0.htm
Must not be...looks like these are 01-24-09. Either way, theyll both be great resources for us "overplanners." :rotfl:
Oops! I forgot about not being able to post the link to this one. The stars are "disneycruiser. info" (minus the space) if anyone wants to check these out, too.
Thanks,
It´s easier to write in english than speak the language.
Watch too many american movies help me to understand the spoken languange, even idiomatic expressions. Moreover, I have difficulty speaking english.
:confused3
Welcome Alberto and Family - your english sounds good to me. :cheer2: :cheer2: pixiedust:
That´s great!!!!!
My daughter loved the idea of a new friend from the US, but I´m afraid she can´t write in english yet. I told her about Sabrina and she hopes to meet her at the Kids Club. Gabriela loves to create stuffs using all kind of things she finds at home, and she is very close to her brother. I will ask if she can stay in the lab with her older brother and a girl friend who´s coming along. I think she will feel better.
Welcome Alberto! :cheer2:
We will also be traveling with our 7 year old daughter, Sabrina, and our 4 year old son, Kai.
Sabrina or NaNa as I call her is too smart for her own good. She is clever enough to try to talk herself out of trouble and talk me into allowing her to do what she wants. She is not a very girly girl but very sweet (just please don't tell her I said that) and very compassionate. She is enjoying her new "email account" and has started emaling with another 7 year old on the ship. She LOVES the idea of penpals so if that is something your daughter would be interested in, let me know -- I am sure NaNa would LOVE a new friend from Brazil.
So decided to book the REAS which I think lets me book things now BUUUUTTT we still have to pay off the cruisef irst I think and DH wants me to wait until Wed or Thurs (we have a lot to pay) before we do that ... so can't book anything until then right? :confused3
I hope you guys had a good weekend. Mine was spent reading trip report after trip report after trip report. I even snuck in some reading while I was prepping food during our super bowl party. This is ADDICTIVE :scared: -- does this addiction wear off? I hope so. I go to Vegas this Friday and right now all I want to take is my laptop so I can keep reading!!!!!
Any suggestions on excursions in GC with the kids? would love any suggestions!
Have a good week!
Mati
They are a little better than the other ones since it also includes the first page that list the movies and other stuff.
I will need your email address since I can't send them thru the DIS PM service.
WOW! I don't check the boards for 1 day and there are 2 new pages! Talk about things picking up...
I'm really sewing handicapped (unless it's on people...then I'm outstanding) and don't have any "craft" supplies. I looked into fabric scissors (cheapos), fabric, trim, iron-on stuff, dowels, something to saw the dowel into the right size, etc. and figured that $30-$40 was a bargain! (Plus, I wanted something embroidered and I knew I couldn't do it and it would cost me an arm and leg to get it done...)
Jane (Eagle Mom), I'm willing to help you with the FE stuff if you need any. I agree with Lillygator that it would be nice to know how many men, women, girls, and boys just for making gifts. (I don't think boys would appreciate pink princess items...) I was also thinking that those of us participating might give info as to any food allergies or "restricted" items just for safety. (ie I'd hate to give peanut MandMs to a family with peanut allergies, etc.)
I'm super excited, but really trying to restrain myself to NOT overplan! (Unfortunately, my OCD is already kicking in!)
Welcome to Noodles (your kids are beautiful by the way), Alberto, all the other "newbies" in the group!
As for lanywards, I'm willing to pay for 2 if they are ordered. I'm not opinionated about it though because I'm kind of looking forward to my Castaway Club one :)...
Wow!! Alot of chat!! Its great!!
