Welcome Lucy and Ethel!!!! (I mean Amy and Sue ;)) :yay:

Your wedding photos are so pretty! I am so excited for you! This will be your 1st anniversary! How nice!!!

I am not married...(No luck in this category) I do have a daughter. She is fifteen. She normally goes on the cruises but her neice coudnt go this time and it gets boring without the extra buddy.

I just got my excursion kit yesterday in the mail and now I have cruise fever!:rotfl2:

Welcome Amy and Sue! Looks like there will be several "childless adults" on the cruise! Sadly, we've never done the Disney Eastern... (We've been to St. Thomas though, so all we missed was St. Marteen.)

Here's my "not to miss" list...
1. Frozen chocolate dipped key lime pie on a stick. (I haven't gotten to try this yet as we totally missed it last time, but it's at the top of my list!)
2. Stingrays in GC. We did this once in GC and snorkelled the second time at Eden Rock, but everyone should have this "experience" once in their lifetime. Those rays are HUGE!
3. Either a great beach in Cozumel or the dune buggy tour (not the ship one)! We've done both in the past, but are planning the dune buggies for this next trip as we LOVED them last time! (We were the dirtiest people getting back on the ship that day...we got lots of "are you sure you don't belong on the Carnival ship next door-type looks!"
4. Relaxing on a chair at Serenity Bay at CC with a cold fufu drink in hand!

That's my take... My husband may not get paid for his week off of work, but we are probably going anyway! (We just found out today.)

Again, welcome! I'm super excited about this trip!

Thank you!

Have fun planning your excursions! DH and I are in the process of trying to figure out what we want to do...He is a dare devil and I am a fraidy cat so you can imagine how hard this is trying to find a compromise.

what is the excursion kit?

It's a cute little envelope that you get in the mail a few weeks after you book. It lists all of the Disney-offered excursions, a packing list, etc. FWIW, I don't remember getting one before our last cruise, but that cruise was booked less than 6 weeks in advance which may be why. (Plus, my memory of things 3 years ago isn't the best...:confused3

wow, we've not received one...maybe since we are booked with DU?

welcome everyone new.....this is going to be a great trip. I am not sure abour fish extenders and gifts, is anyone organizing? are there any meets onboard? this seems a much smaller group than I have sailed with before....I would bet everyone gets more involved closer to the sail date though.

We booked with DCL then transferred the reservation to DU. So, I'm not sure how that affects things. I think the board will become a little more active after final payment time. I know that I'm really interested in FEs and meets, but haven't fully committed to the cruise yet. (Still lots of unknowns...) Once I am totally sure that I'm able to make the trip, I'll gladly help organize some things.

:yay: :yay: :yay: Happy New Year Everyone:yay: :yay: :yay:

Finally, at least I have caught up to the same YEAR of our cruise!

I can't wait! Hope everyone had a good New Years & Wishing all much luck in 2009.

I've seen lots of talk about the FE's. Has a list been started? We have 3 cat 12's so I'm not sure how soon I'll know the stateroom numbers.

Tigger2002 - I checked out your sons photography site & he is very talented. I love playing around with my Nikon, but he's way a head of me. lol :rotfl:
I hope we get to meet up on the ship & maybe some of his talent will rub off on me. ;)

Yeah hopefully he can take some good photos during the cruise. He has got to travel quiet a bit. He is in Washington DC right now. When I was in high school our "field trip" was to the local potato chip factory and kids today get to go to Europe. Right now he is working on law school applications and does not have a lot of time for photography.

Any photo questions just let me know?

My family-myself, DH, DS-21, DS-19 will be cruising with you all!!!!:cool1: Can't wait; very excited! This will probably be our last family vacation for awhile; Sons are all grown up now!!!! Have category 6 room booked with late dining. Looking forward to meeting fellow DISers! Look for the lime green Mickey head on my door!!!!:yay:

Hello everybody. My family (me, DW and DS1.5) will be joining you all on the May 16 Western. This will be my 3rd Disney cruise and their first. I can't wait. I'm booked in a Cat 12, but will probably upgrade to an oceanview room at port if I don't get upgraded for free. I'm so glad it's finally 2009. The cruise is getting so close!

I too, would be interested in both fish extenders and meets! Anyone else?

Hello everyone - clearly I have been away from this thread for too long! Glad to see we have so many new faces. We are freezing here in Massachusetts - I was day dreaming about warm weather and sunshine on my way up the ski lift yesterday in NH trying to keep warm!! Keep all the good tips coming - this is our first cruise, so I don't have anything to offer - but I am taking notes.
Happy New Year to all.

Welcome everyone. I think there are more of us in Cat. 12s than there are actualy Cat. 12 rooms! Otherwise, we'll all be neighbors on the ship and the FE distribution time will be short!

What do you put in a fish extender? I have no idea.

On my 4 night cruise in early December, I saw a few of them throughout the hallways, apparently it was Mousefest and I didn't realize it.

I am excited about our trip in May - it is going to be a great time. How funny when you get back from vacation and you are already dreaming of your next one. Need to find some relaxation in my day-to-day life.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Yeah I am not sure they can fit us all in the Cat. 12 rooms. I think that there are only about 14 Cat. 12 rooms. They sell them so cheap (family of four seven nights = $2,300) to get people on board and then move them up to Cat. 11 or 10, I hope. Then they can "sell" the Cat. 12 rooms again.
