May 16, 2004 / 4 Day Wonder

Still can't find Sea Safe in any of our stores here. Even the scuba shops don't sell it. Looks like we are just going to have to wing it and hope that no one gets stung!

No jet ski's/wave runners for us. We can do it for free all summer here. Don't want to pay a fortune for it there.

Anna, I ordered some Seasafe online. Should be here soon.

its a small world closing earlier than expected...
"it's a small world" will not be operating May 2, 2004 -2005....I see that it is closing earlier that previously stated....

Glenn- I heard they are offering the Jet Ski while I was in the DCL chat Sunday night. Someone said Barb has info about it on her site. I didn’t spot it on the official DCL site yet. I think I may pass on it and just do the snorkeling near the beach and kick back in a lounge chair.

We are armed with one bottle of SafeSea for the cruise, which should be enough for the one or two visits to the beach during the trip.

I was just reading the new posting about the week long stay at the new Ron Jon resort. It makes me want the trip to roll around even faster!

I found what I was looking for. The jet ski excursion is listed on castawayclub.com. It is a tour around the island with a guide. Oh well. Looks like i will be joining you with snorkeling and relaxing. :umbrella:

Lots of snorkeling for us. Good site a ways out off the adult beach. Will do lunch on the adult side of the island. Just noticed we are almost two weeks away from leaving. I will really be looking forward to this vacation.

It would be nice to get over there. I will have to work something out with Anna and my parents. They can watch my kids while I head over that side.
It is almost time. :teeth:

It's a small world is closed too? Glenn, will it be closed while we are there?

It looks like they were scheduled to close later in May or June, but they are closing now the beginning of May.

I know I just read it in the news letter. I am asking Deb Wills to give me the name of the person at Disney to complain to. I can't believe that they have so many amusements down for renovation while we are there. Someone is going to hear about it

No need to complain, its only one ride. We've been on it before. Just need to go on something else.

Too late, I already did. That crap really p.....es me off. Dinosaur, Honey I Shrunk the Kids, Alien Encounter, Snow White's Scary Adventures and now It's a Small World! It's more than one ride

Ok, now I am in a dilemma as to what to do about park passes. I guess we are close to being too late to order online, with shipping. Disney site says they would arrive by the 12th and Ticketmania site says 8-12 business days. I am sure in either case they would arrive in time. I guess we could also do the alternative, pre-order, and just pick them up when we arrive in Disney after the cruise. If I order directly from Disney, it is approx $216 per ticket for a standard 4-day hopper. If I order from Ticketmania (never used them before but mousesavers recommends them) I can get a 4-day -with- 1 option for $220. I guess Ticketmania may be a better way to go. I just need to do some more research to make sure I feel safe with them.

 :sunny:

Yes, we do have one here...For some reason I was under the impresssion that they were not discounted as much as the Disney site??

We usually do ours with the package but I remember getting them at the Disney Store on a couple of occasions. They weren't too bad. You should give them a call. Especially since you would be cutting it close to getting the tickets on time.

Thanks for the reminder Anna! I just called the local store and the 4-day hopper is the same price as buying online! So now I just need to decide if I want to get the bonus attraction buy purchasing thru TicketMania.

Sorry I haven't posted lately. I appreciate the well-wishes and welcome backs. I was just so exhausted from the trip that I just wasn't in the mood to sit at my desk and read things on the computer. That's just terribly lazy, isn't it? But, you all seemed to muddle through without me, didn't you (big wink).

Scottie, if want to order your tickets from Disney you can ask for the "will call" option when you call to purchase your tickets and just pick up your tickets at any ticket window. You'll still be able to get the advanced purchase savings but not worry about the shipping time.

I guess I'm probably the only person who hasn't gotten their docs yet. I sent an e-mail to my TA to ask about them. I'm hoping she just hasn't mailed them to me yet since she knew I was out of town.

I had an awful dream this week that I left all the docs and passports at home and was left standing at the pier. Oh well, it's a sure sign that the trip is almost here when I start having silly dreams like that!

Well as of tomorrow we have 14 days to go. This will be a very welcome trip.

Looks like this weekend we will start the packing as not sure what the time prior will bring. Got new wetsuitd for this trip should keep us nice and toasty in the water.

Scottie hope ya get the tickets sorted out.

Welcome back Amy.

Just to update everyone on my ticket dilemma, I have decided to worry about it at a later date. I am too busy at work these days and need to get started packing and finalizing the pillowcases to worry about tickets right now (yes, I know you are thinking it is taking me way to long to finishes the cases…I have decided to adjust the pattern a bit, which set me back) :crazy2:

Scottie...Get the tickets at the Disney Store and be done with it. Got my AP voucher there in December and, after educating the salesgirl about the difference between a voucher and a real AP, got the voucher and was happy I did...Too many choices was making me crazy...See y'all on the ship...
