May 14, 2011 - Eastbound TransAtlantic

Currently we have 39 adults, 4 teenagers, and 11 children participating in Fish Extenders. I think we should close the group and start another group if people are still interested. 54 gifts is already a lot to buy for. Plus planning need to be done. I noticed this was how they handled fish extenders on last years EBTA.

Being new to FE I don't want to cause any problems, so just let me know if this is the right thing to do.

Sounds like a good idea to me...of course this is my first cruise so first FE so it will be interesting to see what others think. Can't wait to start making some things!

Are we doing per person, per cabin or your choice?

I agree, close the FE and start a new group on the spreadsheet. You can just make one group one color and the next group another. That's how I've seen it done on the other cruises anyway. If some of those on there now that are maybes, and they chose not to do it then the 1st group will just have a few less.:confused3 So, if you're on there now as a maybe, please make a decision so the rest of us can begin ordering, making, or planning our gifts please and thank you. Sorry, I don't want to sound rude, just to the point.;)

Should we add the add the Dismeet to the google doc?

Barb-
What kinds of things did the DIS group do on your PC cruise?

Christi

I've found that about 20 cabins is perfect for FE. When it gets above 30, it is too much to buy for, pack, deliver, etc.

Any interest in a book exchange, either formal (with a meeting time to exchange) or informal (someone hang a bag outside their stateroom--drop one in and take one out when you wish?) We did this on both EBTA and EBTA last year, then at the end donated the books to the crew library.

There is a small library (really a bookshelf) in the Cove Cafe, but many of us will be bringing some "airplane reading" anyhow that we'd just as soon not take home.

I would be interested.

For those in the next category (I guess that is gold) don't forget Jan 29 is the booking day!

105 days to go, woohoo!

I would also be interested in a book exchange. I have been grabbing the "free" books off the library cart where I work and was planning on just leaving the ones I finish, but if someone else would like to read them, that's great. I like the idea of a get-together.

Fish Extenders Group 1 has 17+ cabins. Waiting on SLCMOM to confirm how many cabins in her group. I created a Fish Extenders Group 2 for anybody still wishing to participate in Fish Extenders.

From what I have been reading we are definitely at a good amount of people already.

For those of you that are maybes in group 1, please confirm soon. If you are still not certain I will move you to group 2.

Also I added Book Exchange to the events page.

I made Group 1 "Blue". Our cruise FE groups were color coded and helped me keep myself straight because I knew all I had to pay attention to was my color FE group. Hope it helps you out too.

Kerri- Looks like you're the organizer of the Book Exchange :thanks:
Add yourself to the last page of the spreadsheet as the organizer and it'll be official. If you'd like to take over FE organizer too, I'm sure nobody would object.

Who's idea was it for Shots around the ship? We need that organizer to step forward and confirm they want to still do this. :drinking1

Yes, I know I sound like I'm leaving for the trip tomorrow, I get excited when I get on the boards and more and more gets planned!:banana::banana:

There were a few people from the original thread who said they were interested but we haven't seen them on here in a long time. I guess we just assume they still want to participate?

I am not participating in the Book Exchange. I don't think I should be the organizer. And this is my first time doing the Fish Extenders so I would rather not be the organizer for that.

We still need to know cabin number correct?

Would anyone else be interested in doing this? If we get enough people interested I could even look into making us some shirts for the occasion. Just an idea....I will be needing to pack my running shoes AND actually put them on!

So 15 weeks from now many of us will be flying down to Orlando to stay the night before the cruise somewhere in Florida. I was just kind of curious as to how many people will be staying at various locations. I'd recommend pre-meets, but I know we're getting into the hotel at 9pm and I doubt we'll be up to talking to anyone that night! :rotfl: Though I'm still contemplating sending Jim out to the ABC store for some wine and alcohol. :)

So in case anyone's interested, we're at the Comfort Inn & Suites in Cocoa Beach. In the past we've stayed at the Hampton Inn, or at WDW. I'm sure this will be fine for one night that noone's going to get much sleep anyway! :rotfl2:I just hope we can find breakfast, and get the car returned early enough to get there right at opening!

I am planning on doing the CC 5K, although I'm more of a walker (with occasional spurts of jogging) than a runner. I'll also be in the fitness center or on deck walking laps throughout the cruise so I can have a few more desserts. :rolleyes1
