May 13, 2012 4 Night Bahamian Cruise

You will all have to keep us updated on your suprises and how they went. I would have loved to do this but I just can't keep a secret :guilty:

How does everyone feel about a facebook page. I have seen other groups talk about it, not sure how it works will have to do some research. I assume everyone befriends eachother then we create a group for our cruise? Not sure...But I know my kids have been asking if there is a way to talk to the other kids going so they can get to know someone before the cruise. The shorter cruises make it hard to make friends so it could be nice for them to talk prior to that. Thoughts?

FYI I have two DS's 10 and 12 at the time of the cruise and a DD 4 (but she won't be talking on facebook :goodvibes)

that sound like a good Idea let us know when its ready. Most of the kids in the group Im going with will be under 5 but I can read the Facebook post to them =)

Hi Everyone!
So my sister and I have been secret code chatting LOTS the past couple weeks about the cruise! We finally have our "surprise" figured out. Tell me what you think:

I bought 2 large, oversized DCL Dream postcards. My sister & I will write at the bottom of the cruiseship picture, "SURPRISE!! WE ARE GOING ON A DISNEY CRUISE TO THE BAHAMAS!!!" in big black Sharpie. Then we will cut up the postcard into a puzzle. I will send my sis a big box for Christmas filled with their Disney pirate shirts & jewelry, Mickey shirts, beach bags, etc. She will hide the box. She'll also put the puzzle in a box and hide it.Then in true "A Christmas Story" fashion (like the movie), her family & our family will open all our presents, have Christmas dinner, all gift opening, food, & visitors done. Then all sit down & "Let's skype Aunt Becky on the computer", so we will be able to see eachother. Shoot the breeze for a minute, then her hubby & my Hubby will say, "OH, I think there's a present we forgot, hmmm, I think it is over here:rolleyes1.... then give them the puzzle to put together, then when they put it together (screams happening,:scared1::woohoo:.) we will get out our 2nd big boxes and put in our pre-got DCL DVDs to watch about the cruise! We may make the "puzzle" a treasure hunt, to find each piece, they must follow the clues, putting on things along the way, etc... We are fun crazy sisters, who love to plan plan, so this is right up our alley of sneakiness!:rotfl2:
Oh, had a question for any of you that might know,... does our cruise have a "formal" night, or just a "semi-formal"? :confused3
Can't wait

That sound great Good luck!!!!:wizard:

I am having such a hard time keeping this a secret. I only have until Christmas and then I can drive my family nuts by talking about it every day! I have been shopping like crazy for fun stuff for the "surprise present" and working in my fish extender gifts. I guess that will have to be my fix for now :)

Hello all! We had booked this cruise when we were on the Dream this past May (our first cruise). My wife thought it might be good to try something different next year, so she had me make reservations for a family trip to Western Canada. Anyway, since the cruise, all my kids have talked about is how this was the "best experience of their lives." (not sure if that's a reflection on us as parents, but I'll worry about that later)

To make a long story short, we've decided to eat the tickets to Vancouver (I'm not happy, but at least I got to say "I told you so to my wife") and we're back on for the 5/13/11 cruise! Can't wait!

Count me in. My 12 yo DD is on Facebook, but my 10 yo DS is not. I could figure something out, though. :surfweb:

Hi there, we just booked this cruise yesterday... We were originally booked in April but due to some unforseen issues we had to push our travel dates back so we are now on the 5/13 sailing!!! :cool1:

Traveling in my group will be me, my 10 year on DS, his best friend who is also 10 and his mom!!!

We are staying in Disney the night prior to sailing and will also be returning back to the world for 4 days after the cruise!

Looking forward to this trip!!!

I took the family to Disney on Ice Thursday night and in all the excitement I wanted to yell out"We are going on a Disney Cruise!" but I contained myself, but it was so hard! :)

That is funny Disneytwinsmom! I have had that same feeling a dozen times over. SO hard to keep quiet! LOL:rolleyes1:lmao:

First really cold day here in Jersey... frost, frozen car door and boots made me really wish it was May!!!!

6 + months, really not that bad when I think about how we booked this back in February and had almost 15 months to count down!

:dance3::dance3::dance3::dance3::dance3::dance3:

We're booked for this cruise as well, our 3rd time on the Dream and 18th Disney cruise overall.

JustMom71: Your location brings back memories as a youngster for me. My dad worked for Oneida Paper Products, Inc. in Clifton some 50 odd years ago. Is it still there? Fond memories of a bakery near the place we always stopped at to get "black and whites" that were freshly made each day. They were so good!

I keep thinking about the winter between me and my cruise, too! I was mad today because the Fish Lips web cam wouldn't load for me so I could see the Dream set sail and give me the inspiration I need to make it the next 6+ months! :lmao:

We booked a room for 3 nights at Bay Lake Tower, post cruise! This is so close to being my perfect vacation, I can't stand it!! Is it seriously over six months away??!
