May 13, 2007 EARLY Roll Call… 5/13/2007 4-Night Wonder

Yes we have not seen it. I was holding off the trip thinking I would like to see it for the 1st time on the boat. It would just make it that much cooler. My son wants to see it but I am holding off. I might have to go see trutles before we go. Not one I really want to see but if it makes the kids happy.

I must say we are so looking forward to this we plan to start packing next week. We have a ton going on this weekend and the weekend before we go well that is a wash out. On May 5th we are having the MIL over for mothers day and having people over to watch the big fight that night. My DH idea and on that sunday May 6th we are going over to see my parents to wish my mom happy mothers day. It will be a busy weekend. Hard to beleive that we are just about there and making plans for our last weekend home before we are out of here. We ony have next week free. the weekend is shot. Well I can spell WE ARE OUT OF HERE real soon.

On a different note. I just wanted to let you all know about my DH. His spot on his back came back a Cancer. Yesterday I was worried until I got information. It is a common form of skin cancer and is the good kind. All test show they got it all and we only have to make sure he has lots of sunblock on and always weres a shirt unless in the pool. And that is forever. He also has to watch for anymore spots. The kind he had was carcinoma. Which is the good kind.

Mickey4, I am so sorry to hear the news about your DH but really, really glad that it is not melanoma. I'm sure that he will be fine now that he knows to take extra precautions.:thumbsup2

I have found the water at CC to be a bit chilly in May. However, I am a freeze baby so maybe it is just me. It didn't keep me out though. For me that is the best day of the cruise!:woohoo:

Ragdoll....Thanks I was really worried until I got more info yesterday. I must say I am gald it is over with.

I too am hoping the water is warm enough to swim in. My boys have never seen the ocean and never been on a real beach. I want them to be able to do it all. And I will be the nut mom with the camera running all over taking photos.

I too am happy to hear the results came back on the good side for your husband. Just sounds like time to buy the SPF 60 spray for him!

Right you are, if the water is even a bit on the cool side at Castaway Cay the Disney Magic seems to make you forget about it!

DH and I were on the adult beach one year in May and it was really cold...not just the water but the air was chilly and windy. I was almost ready to go back to the ship and change but when we stopped at the family beach the difference was amazing. The air temperature seemed to be much higher and the water was warmer. :confused3 Doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me but I thought it was interesting to see the difference between the two beaches. It would have been very disappointing to not get to go in the water.

That is funny that even the air temp was better. I am hoping for it to be nice and warm when we get there. My mortage Company is in FL and said they have had some record high days in April so hopfully it will be warmer then too. I would love to splash in the water all day. I am a cold person so I need it warm warm. I guess we will all have to wait and see. I might try checking the weather out that way the week before but even then you never know after all it is still spring time.

Hey lets not worry about we are going on a Disney Cruise in a couple of weeks.

Mickey4, sorry to hear about your DH. I know a few people in the same situation. Nothing has really changed for them other then a hat and some sun screen. One of them even deployed to Iraq. And there is alot of sun there!!!

I finally found a dress for the cruise. JC penny's has a sale. 1/2 off summer dresses. The price was prefect. Especially since I really don' t know if we will even be in the dining room for that night. I am taking the laid back approach. If my son doesn't want to go or doesn't want to go to the kids club for dinner. Then it is the casual dining option or room service.

My son loves cold water!! When he takes bath he likes to run cold water in it! I could never understand that. SO I guess ths means that I will be also stuck going in the cold water. Yikes.

Just taking an informal poll, since I cant remember:headache:

Who has early dinner seating and who has late seating??

A nice suprise was waiting when we arrived home from Chuck e Cheese tonight....Cruise Docs! Now things are really rolling along!
:dance3:  :woohoo:  :dance3:

Late seating here. Also, where is everyone who is going to WDW staying? We are at POFQ.

12 days before we head to disney and my dd gets chicken pox,i need some pixie dust sent this way, so she will better when its time to go.
we have early seating and staying at the pop.

Oh my!!!! At least she got them before the trip. Will they be gone by the time you have your trip??

early seating for us. The late one seemed too late.

Ok, Now where are my cruise doc's!!!! Scottie what is in them??

Where is everyone keeping their brith cert's and passports while traveling? I am so paranoid that I am going to lose them!!!

We have late seating too. As for WDW, we are going after the cruise and staying at Saratoga Springs

Yikes chicken pox... What a bummer but it is a good thing you have some time before vacation to work on them!! :wizard: Hopefully there wont be any sores to limit her allowance into the club or around other kids in the pool etc. Keepng fingers crossed for you!

Anyone who wants to can feel free to join us for late seating! I am sure we can all chat up a storm. :thumbsup2

Cruise Docs: Not much of anything in them :rotfl2:
Since we did the online checkin there was only the luggage tags and Bahama immigration form. There was also a bus transportation and airline contract form. Ours were blank since we didnt book either of those services via DCL. It was still nice to get a package from DCL in the mail!

We have late seating too. As for WDW, we are going after the cruise and staying at Saratoga Springs

let me know how that is with the little ones. We like to stay at places with kitchens. It is easier with the little one. We looked at SS last Jan. But decided on Fort Wilderness Cabins. We loved it there. Plenty to do other then the parks.

We have had a DVC membership since 98' so we have got our use out of it as each child has grown up. We do find the larger rooms and kitchen to be a nice plus. However, I think we find ourselves eating out at Disney 99% of the time. I would like to try the wilderness cabins some time.
We typically book at 2-bedroom unit at whatever hotel we decide on for the trip (Boardwalk is my fav) and invite other family along.

Over the past few years we have also been hitting the DVC resort off and on in Hilton Head for a week long trip with about 8-15 people. I think we have gone there in mid-June three of the last four years. We will miss out this year due to the cruise.

Scottie that is great you got your Doc's heck I can not even get a Tracking number yet. I am hoping they are on their way. I want them so bad almost like a little kid wanting Xmas to come.

We are staying at the Caribbean Resort and we have the early seating. That is better for my kids. We always eat about 5-6 and want to try to keep it the same.

I might cry if I do not get my DOC'S this week.Since we only have 14 days.:lmao: I guess I will keep watching.

Thanks to everyone for thinking about my DH we are taking this one step at a time. I was so worried but it all worked out.

Pack your sun screen.

Where is everyone keeping their brith cert's and passports while traveling? I am so paranoid that I am going to lose them!!!

I purchased a folder with fasteners built in that hold three-hole punched paper. I have all the various docs for our trip like flight info, hotel reservations, etc. punched and fastened into the folder. On either side of the folder when you open it there are pockets that will hold my other stuff like the cruise contract we need to turn in, and the mighty birth certificates. You know all those things I can’t hole punch or need to hand over to someone.
I have used this method in the past and felt comfortable. We then leave the folder in a backpack that we carry around with us, until we arrive at a room with a safe.
