Good to hear from you Mari & Mella! You ladies were quite chatty last night!! Loved the pictures of CSR Mella!! I can't wait!! Post more if you have them!

NewCrew - that was only half of my baking! I'm going to do some more today!

Does anyone have an easy recipe for chocolate covered pretzels? We have so many teachers & bus drivers this year that I am thinking they are going to get cookies & other homemade goodies for Christmas!

Shelly~ Well, It's a good thing i love snow... J/K... Mark went out and shoveled this morning. It's in our coveneants to keep the sidewalks clean. I won't let him get a blower, because I just KNOW as soon as we pay all that money, we will move. Why? Because that's how the JoBirds Roll...haha.

Mari~ What great news about your sister! I have always found that a baby is always placed in a family's arms when they need them the most.

New Crew~ I am missing me some Arkansas right about now! That is neat about all the activities your children are involved in. Tell them all JoBird says Hi.


Okay, Jobird's Corner News:
Nothing new. No passing out, thank goodness. Mark was home yesterday just in case, hAHA.

I read The Polar Express to Belle this morning and started sniffling and crying and blubbering. I am such a baby. I'll get better after this weekend. The
7th is the anniversary of my Dad's death and from Thanksgiving to then I am always a wreck, crying at the drop of a hat. Then after that I get better, and Christmas comes and then New Years and my (shhhhh) Birthday. I'll be 29! Ahem, again. Yay me! I love being 29. It's such a wonderful number.

Oh my gosh, my banana isn't frozen this morning! I'm not sure why, because all this snow blowing around sure would make it seem to be. That was for you, Shelly.

Backing away from the coffee pot. This steroid and the coffee are like uppers in JoBird's little ole' body. Mark keeps laughing at me because I can't sit still and I ramble on and on, just like now.

Does anyone have an easy recipe for chocolate covered pretzels? We have so many teachers & bus drivers this year that I am thinking they are going to get cookies & other homemade goodies for Christmas!

These are not chocolate covered but are super easy.

Buy "waffle" shaped pretzels. (Not sure if that is the right name.) They are round and are about the size of a quarter, with a grid type of design. I think they are Rold Gold.

Buy Hersey Kisses, I like the milk chocolate as well as the Hugs. (They Hugs are my fav!)

You can also buy Holiday M & Ms.

Set your oven on a very low temp like 200 or 250. (I don't have a recipe so every year, I just experiment with the first batch to see if I have it right.)

Put your pretzels on a cookie sheet, put a kiss on top of each pretzel. Put these in the oven until the Kiss is soft, and smooshable.

When the Kisses are smooshable, take it out of the oven and smoosh a M & M into the Kiss. Let cool.

My sister-in-law cannot eat M & Ms, so for her, I just take another pretzel and use it to smoosh the kiss and it makes a little pretzel sandwich!

These are yummy and easy!

Jo - This weekend when we left our dinner party it was around 10 pm and 60 degrees outside. We walked out with a couple who had moved here from Ohio who said, "Wow, it feels like a wonderful August night!" I'm so sorry your cold!

Mari and Mella - I loved your conversation about the CSR. It looks so festive there!

Just finished up with the sugar cookies. WOW those are a pain! It took me over 3 hours. It didn't take me that long to make everything I made yesterday!

Shelly - Do you do shape sugar cookies or round?

I do cut out and then frost and sprinkle. I think this is what takes me forever and why I only do it once a year.
