Great story JO!! I am very happy for you! :woohoo: I knew you could do it! But yes, sad that we will not see you in MAY :snooty: .

So what other times of the year has everyone gone to WDW???

Just the first week of October for us. TOO HOT!! TOO CROWDED!!

Hi
I had to go to Petco and bathe Beau Gator the Bulldog. Now I'm back and ready to chat.

Let's see,
I've been to WDW in December 3 times, January (early) twice, August twice (once was in 1973, does that count? ;) I remember it well.) October/into November (there were NO crowds-right before Jersey week. Cooler temps. Perfect trip), and May last year. I have to say the best time for me was the October/November trip. There were less crowds than May, even.

I"m hoping for light crowds the week I've chosen in November. We may decide that the week before that is lighter, as far as crowds, and go to the game on the end of the trip instead of the beginning. We just can't wait. DH said it's going to be the "trip of a lifetime.":rotfl:

Hi guys,

My friends have evacuated their homes and animals today in Malibu.
My son's teacher is one of the evacuees. The fire is pretty bad up there. Very hard for the firefighters to get at the fire in the canyon areas.

I took some pictures and video of skyline and smoke in Malibu (as far as they would let me (The Getty Villa) just past Sunset Blvd. and tonight from Palisades Park in Santa Monica.

Check out this short montage: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LHvqU--g4V4

There are 13 fires in our area. Lots of sirens all the time and the air is very smoky. It was a very warm day and it will be like that tomorrow. Bummer!

Seacrest

I'm HAPPY to hear that you are OK.....

Mornin MAYers~:snooty:

I hope ya'll will all forgive me for being a November'er:) I will be sad in May as you are all leaving, but Maybe DMM and I can share our sorrows together and look forward to a different month.;)

Sooo, pull up a chair and grab a cup of coffee and listen to my story...:surfweb: It's long...

Saturday, 10/20, 11 am:

I'm on the resort thread, looking at pictures of rooms...
DH walks in from the gym, asks, "What are you doing?"

Me- "Dreaming."
DH- "Are you ready to go back?"
Me- "Yes. It's been 6 months."
DH- (laughing) "That long, huh?"
Me- "Well, it's been a year since we took the children."
DH- "Oh, well, I'm going to take a shower."
Me- "sigh, okay. We have to leave in an hour for Drew's game."
DH- "Okay"

After his shower, I knew I had planted somthing in his brain, because he came down smiling. He walked in the room and said, "Did you find a resort you liked?":scared1:

Me- (cautiously) "Well, you know I love the Poly..."
Dh- "Yeah, well, we'd still need two rooms. Personally, I loved POFQ. We could get two rooms there and it wouldn't be as cramped, we'd have two bathrooms."
Me- "uh-huh."

Then, nothing. Watched college gameday, and Lee Corso putting the Gator head on, chomping the University of Kentucky crowd. It was at that moment, I had the idea of ALL ideas, and I went with it.

Me-"It's been 8 years since we went to a game, Baby."
DH-"I know, it's been a long time since we were in Gainesville."
Me- "Okay, crazy idea, but what if we start planning now, for getting tickets to the UF/SC game. We don't tell the kids, send them to school like normal the Friday before the game, then pack the car up, go get them from school and go to the airport. Then we fly into MCO, rent a car, drive to Gainesville, stay two nights, go to the game, and then drive back to MCO on Sunday and spend the rest of the week in Disney?":upsidedow (I was holding my breath...)
Dh- "Hum, if we start planning now, we could have it paid for by then, and we'd have a better shot at getting tix to the game. Sounds like a plan. Let's do it."

OH. MY. GOSH. HE SAID, AND I QUOTE "LET'S DO IT." AS IN, YOU PLAN IT. I'LL PAY FOR IT. WHATEVER YOUR PRECIOUS HEART DESIRES. OMG. I LOVE THIS MAN.:woohoo:

And, the kicker is, he's looking forward to it already! He told our neighbor yesterday when we all went to the park together. And he told him it was a secret we are keeping from th kids! I was laughing.:rolleyes1

Last night I looked up the dates. It will be November 14-22, at POFQ. I have to call for ressies this am. I am beyond excited.

Okay, that's the gory details. We will be there after Veteran's Day crowds, and before Thanksgiving crowds. We get to see Disney in all it's Christmas splendor, once again. :santa:

Okay, more coffee, please.

Jo

Mornin' MAYers.

Gosh, I can't believe it, but I slept until 8:30 this morning. I haven't slept that late in forever. Guess I needed it. The kids are just rolling out of bed as well. No school, still.:sad2:

It's going to be super hard for him to not tell the secret. He is always the one to let the cat out of the bag.

Is November really less crowded than January? How's the January weather?

Hey JO! I don't know what happened to our nice weather! I guess we were due for this to happen. :umbrella: Actually it is long overdue! I just wish the nice weather would have held on another week for trick-or-treat and our last soccer game this weekend.

It has just started to downpour again and it's nearly time for DS to get off the kindergarten bus. I guess I better go get the umbrella back out and head out again. Hmm... seems like I just did this 4 hours ago putting them on the bus. :boat:

Morning Shelly...

Shelly have you heard anything about the Star Wars weekends...they were in May...except this year...for the 30th anniversary they did the weekends in June...have you heard if they will go back to May?...:darth: I'm hoping the force will be with us next year....:chewy:
JC

Both of my trips to WDW in January were the first week in Jan. The crowds were awful. This was pre-DIS days. After the last trip there, being miserable, I decided there had to be a better way. And I found it here.;)

If you can go to January after the schools go back, and either before or after MLK day (it's crowded then), I think it's supposed to be reaally dead. But you have to keep in mind that those days are usually when a lot of rides are closed. Also, the parks close earlier and, just cause you're in Florida doesn't mean it won't be cold. ;) January can get cold there. Which means no swimming.

Heck, I won't even be swimming in November! We only swam once in Oct last year, at night, and I froze.

My trip in Oct/Nov. was truly unbelievable. I know that a lot of people who went earlier in the month of OCt. said it was terrible, crowd and weather wise. We literally did not wait in one line over 10 minutes. I was blown away.

And the coolest thing was this:

Halloween night, there were pumpkins everywhere, they held the last MNSSHP that night. The next morning, the pumpkins were gone, and in their place were Christmas trees, garland, AND Christmas carols! Minnie was dressed in her holiday attire! We were  How'd they do that???

Fun times, right there.:rotfl:

Jo

Hi JC!

They won't announce the dates for SW weekend until closer to the dates. Are you interested for DGS????:) How is that cutie doing?
