Mari-

A lot of people love POP! We stayed there once, but we didn't care for it so much. It's only because I get over  stimulated (just like a kid!) very easily.:rotfl: POP did that to me. It's all a matter of personal preference. I loved POFQ but Shelly didn't. I thought it was a nice break from all of the "in your face" Disney stuff.

We didn't take the kids to POFQ, but next time we will. They were with us at POP and didn't really care for it, but they're kids, what do they know??;)

What did you like about CBR/ What did you not like about it?

Just wondering...

Jo

MOrnign Jo...

I actually LOVED CBR. the room that we were in was perfect. a 5 min walk to the food area and the pool was right outside out door. I wanted to go there but DH said why don't we do one of the resorts that has all the disney stuff so that i why i looked at POP or else we would have been righ tback at CBR. i'm still trying to convince him actually.

The resort was beautiful. it wasn't noisy the food court was never overly packed. Shutters was great. the transportation to the parks was great the only time we had to wait anything more then 20min was going to DTD. but either way we didn't notice the time since we were all entertained in talking about the parks and what we would do and what we did.

Good Morning!

Another busy morning volunteering at the school. Just got home. DS should be getting off the kindergarten bus in about 5 minutes! Looks like you MAYers have been busy little posters again!! :) :snooty:

Catch up with you in a bit!

AHHHHH

My allergies are killing me. UGH!!! I can't stand it. Dh is away until Thursday and this is the first time alone since the girls have been born.

So I see a bunch of restaurants I want to go to in May but I am afraid. I love my standards. WHat should I do.

Any advice?????????

Hey Huggie - Did you make it through DH being away okay? My DH just got a promotion at work and is now going to have to travel from time to time. Hopefully not too much! I am not looking forward to it. :sad2:

As far as ADR's at Disney I am looking to change things up a bit this time and try a lot of new places too! Like - Whispering Canyon, Ohana, Le Cellier, and Cape May. What do you think?

This just in...

Disney called and my wife has orientation tomorrow!!! :cool1:

I will let you all know how it goes!

Seacrest

That's great Seacrest! :wizard: Congrats to your wife!!

HEY MAYERS!!! :wave2:
Still waiting to hear official word from Disney, hopefully this week :)....When I get in (note the positive thinking here :goodvibes), I'm probably going to leave a week before I check in and spend the week having fun in the parks since I have my AP just sitting around, gathering dust :lmao:

Hey JC....I  planning and I'm definitely up for a Mayer Meet!

Good luck Sulley. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you! I sure hope to see you in MAY!! We are thinking about a DTD MAYer Meet ~ What do you think?!? :snooty: :snooty: :snooty:

Hello everyone :)

Baby ROman and I are home! We're exhausted and ready to sellp the rest of the week, but I wanted to stop in and say hello :) He was born October 6th at 8:04am!

Congratulations Michelle!! :goodvibes What a beautiful baby!
Shelly, tell your DH one of your imaginary MAYer friends lives 30 minutes away.:rotfl: Maybe we can meet up at TRU one day, if you have Christmas shopping to get done.:rolleyes1

Jo

Hey JO! I know, you probably actually only live about 5 miles from DH's work! Someday I will prove to him that you guys are real people!! :rotfl:

I'd love to meet up for some shopping soon!

We LOVED CBR too!! We loved it so much I think that's why POFQ was a little bit of a let down to us. I am tempted to go back to CBR, but want to try something new. Hopefully CSR will be great! :wizard:

i am actually considering CSR. when my mom went in Fed she went ther eto eat at the Maya Grill she fell in love with that resort. But i think DH is set on a resort for DD2. he said she will not enjoy that. I think otherwise but we'll see what a little persuasion can do about changing his mind........

I sure hope you can change his mind! :wizard: We will have a better chance of meeting if we were at the same resort!! I think it looks just beautiful. And I think my kids are going to love the pool. I can't wait!! :woohoo:

It does look beautiful.... Let's see if my magic works on DH. Remember we still have to see if there is a way we can all meet at DTD.

Hi Jo!

San Francisco is about 400 miles north of Los Angeles - about 7-9 hours, depending how fast you drive and what the traffic is like. Now this is not the scenic route, this is going up the "grapevine" which is the produce part of the state, this would be the fastest way up.

From Santa Monica, you can take the PCH to the 101 all the way up to SF. This is a very beautiful drive, a lot of coastline as you get further north. But it can take you a long time because there is a lot of turns in the road. There are also a bunch of neat places to stop along the trip: Santa Barbara, Solvang, Pismo Beach, San Louis Obispo, San Simeon (Hearst Castle), Carmel, Gilroy and Monterey Bay.

Gilroy has a theme park, Gilroy Gardens, http://www.gilroygardens.org/index.html which has the unique Circus Trees.
We haven't been by there yet, but we plan to one day. They have rides and shows. The rides appear to be more for kids though.

If you drive up from the coastline, I would plan to take 2 maybe 3 days if you want to stop off and see a couple of sites. There is a lot things to see on the coastline drive and it is very beautiful.

SF is a great place to visit. Lots things to see and do. You can't do or see it all in one day there, you need at least 3 or 4 days to roam around, ride the cable cars, visit Chinatown, visit the original Ghiradellis and of course, view the majestic Golden Gate Bridge. The shopping and the restaurants are incredible there. So much to experience.

Now, south of DL, about 1.5 to 2 hours is San Diego. Legoland, San Diego Zoo and Sea World are in that area. Tijuana is about 45 minutes away from SD and you can take a bus into Mexico for a day of shopping and site seeing. SD is very beautiful and has a awesome coastline. My wife and I were just down in SD a few weeks ago and we had a great time relaxing down there.

I hope that this info helps!

Seacrest

Mornin':surfweb:

So last night I heard this bump sound and yell down to Dh "what was that?" and he said "I thought it was you?" (I was upstairs doing laundry...I love having it on the second floor:love: ). Anyway, we start looking around. It wasn't the dog, it wasn't the kids- they were all watching football with DH. WHAT WAS THAT SOUND??????popcorn::

I opened the front door. We'd been Boo'ed! The kids started yelling and screaming and candy was flying.:rotfl: Ahhhhh, I love October.:woohoo:

Seacrest, I forgot to tell you after your last post to me about coming to CA...
DH really is only into college football. And even then, only SEC, really. The funny thing is, he can get any tickets he wants here in Pittsburgh FOR FREE to any game- Steelers, Pirates, Penguins. And he never does. :) The only way he'd go to a USC game is if they were playing our boys of Florida. Now THAT would be a game!!!!;) I, however, would love to go to the Horse races, though.

I was trying yesterday to see how far of a trip it would be to drive from LA to San Fran. I've always wanted to go to SF (I've talked about it all my life.) and DH said he'd take me there for our 10th, but I don't know how I'd fit in DL.:wizard: Could you take the Pacific Coast Highway? I am so ignorant about CA.:rotfl:

Please enlighten me.:headache:

Jo

Don't worry Kristina I think we are staying at POP. My DH really wants a kid friendly resort for my DD2. I'm thinking of requesting section "60's" thats the one with the flower shaped pool. It looks close to the food court and buses. and the Pool looks great.

Hey Seacrest how did the orientation go for your DW? How is your niece doing? I hope she's not too shaken up by what happened...

Pic's look great. I noticed the pin that he was wearing... they must be excited to go to DW again.....

Thanks Mari! He got that pin on our first WDW trip two years ago when he turned 4!

Yes the boys are very excited!! DS 8 is counting down the days with me. DS 6 still doesn't really have much concept of time, so he just knows it's coming sometime!!! :yay:

Well, orientation was very short for my wife. They just went over her paperwork, making sure that they had everything and that was basically it. She was only there for about a hour or so. Right now they only need her on a fill in basis, her first assignment is tomorrow.

In the meanwhile, she has an interview today at The Getty Center (http://www.getty.edu/) for an administrative position. That is a lot closer to our home than Disney, plus she can ride their monorail to work everyday! http://www.flickr.com/photos/jkaiman/230268976/in/photostream/
LOL!:hippie:

That's my update!

Thanks for asking about my neice. She went up to Oregon today to visit with her son that she adopted out to a wonderful couple. It is an open adoption situation. After this ordeal, I think she might even move up to that area just to start fresh. We will see...

Hi Everyone,

I am going May 15-20 with my DS (3) (a little nervous about that). It will be our first time at WDW and we are staying at POP. All tips and advice will be appreciated.

Thanks!

Hey Jordans_Mommie, and everyone else! :wave2:

I'm new on the May board, our dates are also May 15-20, also staying at POP. Our groups is 10 college students, look out! lol. I also was nervous about May, didn't know what to expect as I have never been in May. I hear great things though, so I am excited!!

And to whoever just applied for the college program, good luck, you will loooooove it! Let me know how that turns out, and let me know if you have any questions!! :thumbsup2

Huggie - What do you get when you go to Le Cellier? It will be our anniversary dinner even though we will be in Epcot a few days before our actual anniversary. Is Le Cellier kid friendly? Do you know if they do anything special for anniversary's?
