Thanks for the info Seacrest! I think the Ranchos are our best bet too. I can't wait to see CSR!!!!!

I'd love to see your Block Party video!

I hadn't heard about the Crush Roller Coaster. What's it like? I'm sure it won't be there by May. I know they are supposed to have a new Buzzlightyear type ride at MGM by next summer. I'm hoping it'll be there by May!

I know, I told DS not to worry they'd have to be out of their minds to get rid of RNRC!!

The new ride they are putting in at Disney Hollywood Studios is going to be called Toy Story Mania. They are building it at California Adventure right now too. Here is some more info on that ride:

I will take some pictures of the construction this Sunday.

Mo2DB, your boys are so handsome and cute! The pics of Hershey are great. I haven't been there yet, but would like to go there some day. About 25 years about my grandparents visit Hershey and brought us back t-shirts. I remembered how they all smelled like dark chocolate. I will never forget that. Do they still smell like chocolate?

hello all-
so just to update you all- my mother has chosen washington d.c for her girls weekend birthday trip.

I really wanted to go to savannah... but then DH said, well then why don't we go there. So towards the end of October DH and I are taking our first alone trip (since kids) to Charleston, and Savannah . (Kind of a romantic beach and golf getaway) I am so excited.:yay: :yay:

Jodi my friend- I need all that wonderful hometown info of yours. where to eat, stay, shop, what tours to take etc...

I am just full of vacations this year- next year I'll have to stay home so that I can afford Disney again in 2009. :lmao:

Hi Lake! I am so glad you are wanting to stay in Charleston! I think you will love it, but you see such beauty in Canada already.:)

Okay, first of all, I want to tell you that you are going at a nice time of the year. It will still be warm enough to tour and no mosquitoes to eat you alive.:lmao:

Let's see, places to stay...

http://www.millshouse.com/
(my favorite place. Has a wonderful breakfast!)

http://www.plantersinn.com/maps.asp
(You can't beat this location. It is beautiful; never stayed there but it gets awesome reviews.)

http://charlestonreservations.com/embassyhistoric/
(This hotel is a bit further away. It's still downtown, but within walking distance of everything. There is a link also to the one in Savannah, which I know nothing about.)

http://www.meetingstreetinn.com/
(Never stayed here, but it is "typical" Charleston!!!:) )

http://www.johnrutledgehouseinn.com/
(Dh had a conference here. His room was on the front, it was absolutely divine. You could hear the carriages... Just breathtaking and comfortable.)

http://www.vendueinn.com/
(Never stayed here, but been past it often. It's beautiful.)

http://www.twomeetingstreet.com/
(This is a bed and breakfast that is famous. It faces the battery, which is where the Civil War started.)

http://kingcharlesinn.com/
(This is a bit cheaper, I believe, but really close to everything.)

http://www.daysinn.com/DaysInn/control/Booking/property_info?propertyId=05262&brandInfo=DI
(Again, cheaper, but you can't beat the location, and there are nice hotels all around.)

Okay, I gave you a few to get you started. This should keep you busy for awhile.;)
Take a look at this for lots of info:http://www.charlestoncvb.com/

I'll help out as much as I can; this week is tough...we move into the new house in 3 days!:scared:

Have a great fun time researching!

Jo

PS...
Hello to everyone else. Please say a prayer for my sanity this week.

J.

thanks jodi-
good luck with the move.
and congrats on the new house again!!!

just so you know- we are thinking about taking a walking ghost/civil war tour one night, and visiting boone hall and drayton.

i can't wait!

Aww, thanks Seacrest!

Yes, the whole town smells like chocolate!! ::yes:: Very yummy!! We always put our windows down in the car when we enter the town, even if it's winter!! You should try to visit sometime! Hey maybe we should do a house swap and your family can see all the sights of PA and we could see CA!! I think my family would get the better deal there!!:lmao: Hmm....:scratchin but you wouldn't be there to give us the grand tour, so I guess that wouldn't work. . . :confused3 :rotfl:

 Good Luck with the move JO!

Sure hope this rain stops before your move! Can you believe this weather? Saturday we were in the city and it was just beautiful, sunny :goodvibes 77 degrees! Now we are on our 2nd day of nonstop rain :fish: and it is only about 60 degrees. :sad2:

Thanks Shelly! The extended forecast is calling for rain all week:sad2: ...and on Thurs & Fri, close to 90 degrees with high humididty. :scared: I think I'm going to swoon.;)

Lake, Boone Hall is wonderful. They filmed parts of the made for TV mini series The North and the South there. Never been on a Ghost tour, but heard they are fun. There certainly are a lot of haunted places there.:scared1:

If I were you, I would consider Middleton or Magnolia Plantaion before Drayton, but that's just personal preference. All three are within a few miles of each other West Ashley; Boone Hall is in Mt. Pleasant (across the Cooper River, opposite direction.)

That is so cool! I would really like to experience that sometime. I was thinking of taking my boys on father/son trip to a couple of amusement parks in the late spirng of 08. I would like to go Cedar Point and Hershey.

Actually, we are thinking of buying a bigger home so that we can entertain guests for longer periods of time. We are looking at a few options out there - so maybe someday your family can stay at Seacrest Beach House.

Ooooooohhhhhhh the Seacrest Beach House sounds wonderful!!

Cedar Point is awesome!! Great for the thrill ride lover! I haven't been there for many many years though. Probably not since the kids were born! We'll probably take them when they get a little bigger. It's only about 3 hours away and there is lots to do in that area.

Seacrest, I know that wasn't for me, but it just struck me that you are so nice. :goodvibes What a beautiful name for a Beach House! I'm interjecting my thoughts onto your convo. Sorry.:lmao:

I'm off to do our final walk through!!! YAY!!!!!

Jo

We went down to DL yesterday planning to stay only for a couple of hours after lunch. We had lunch at Tony Roma's across the street from the park - the staff there knows us now and so we are treated really nicely. My wife and I shared ribs and my son had potato cheese soup. Soup on hot day (95)? Yea, he ate it all!

We got over to the parking structure and it was packed. We were on the top of the of the structure. Never had done that before. As we entered in we saw all these Goths and Death Rockers all decked out. Found out it was "Bats Day" at DL. A unofficial DL event that has been going on for about 5 years or so. Here is more info about it: http://www.batsday.net/

I took a few pics of some of the attendees, they looked a bit freaky but didn't act too strange or offensive.

The park was pretty full at 2:30 p.m. and it was a bit warm. Got our FPs for Space Mt. We were able to get on POTC, HM and BTMR less than 10 minutes each. Saw Golden Horseshoe Review and went over to Matterhorn to get a ride in. The ride was down! Power failure! In fact, all of Tomorrowland and Fantasyland was shutdown because of a power failure and brown out situation. Hopefully, they told us, they would be online in an hour or so.

So we made our way to DCA and decided to stop to see the YOMD parade. My son saw the Dream Team guy who gave him the FN dream back in June across the street. He went over to him to say hi. He and my son talked for a few minutes and then he the DT guy came over to talk to us. He told us he wanted us to meet him over at DCA at 7:30 p.m. in front of the Animation building. Ok cool!

We stroll over to DCA after parade and wait for the DT guy. He shows up and he takes us in to Turtle Talk with Crush and we get front row seats and tells us we need to stay after the show after everyone has left. So we watch the show and everyone leaves and now we get our own private show with Crush!

I videoed the whole thing - I will put it up on YouTube tonight. It was totally cool.

So after that, our DT guy says, do you want to see Fantasmic? Sure! He escorted us over DL and took us to a reserved section and we got to see the show from a very nice location without having to wait 2 or 3 hours to get a good viewing area. We also got Honoray DL Citizen buttons and we signed his book, thanking him for the neat "dream". After the Fantasmic we stayed and watched the Wishes fireworks show since it started 5 minutes after Fantasmic finished.

Finally, we got over to Space Mt. and had a great ride. We did the "hear no evil, speak no evil, see no evil" faces for the photo. We are dorks.

So much for just wanting to spend 3 or 4 hours...we got home after midnight. (Had to stop at In n Out Burger to refuel!)
