Day 5: Thursday May 17 - MGM

Today was another sleep in day! When we got up and around we watched some TV, played, and went for a swim. Had lunch at the resort food court around 11:30 and then headed for the bus stop. When the MGM bus pulled up a woman came up to me and asked if we were going to MGM, I said yes we are, and she handed me 5 fastpasses good for any ride at MGM!!!!! She said her group was done there and didn't need them. I'm not sure how she got them, they were for any ride and didn't expire until June 30th. But I sure was glad she gave them to me!!!!! AWESOME!!!!! So we got to MGM around 12:45 and headed for Star Tours, the kids were dying to try this one. Figured we'd have to use 4 of the fastpasses for this, but the standby was only 20 minutes, so we saved them! Star Tours was fun. Then we walked right into the Indiana Jones seating about 5 minutes before it was to start. Everyone enjoyed this show. So then we went off to RNRC. :woohoo: DS 8 was tall enough!! Wait was 30 minutes, so we used 2 of the fastpasses for this so DH & DS 5 wouldn't have to wait around forever. That has to be the best ride ever!!!!!!!! By now it's nearly time for the Stars & Cars Motor parade so we went and got an awesome spot for that. Another great parade!! Then it was time for Lightening McQueen & Mater to come out. The line was HUGE! So we just waited off to the side and the kids were happy with just seeing them from there. Then went and took the Backlot Tour. Very neat! Now it was nearly 5:00 and time for our dinner at Hollywood & Vine, so we went and checked in. Waited about 10-15 minutes and were seated. Not really the best buffett I've ever seen, but it was okay. And we got our Fantasmic voucher. After dinner we walked around and shopped a bit. The kids got some pirate swords and we got some Disney cups and a shot glass. Took the Disney Animation tour. DS 8 and I took another spin on RNRC with our fastpasses!! And then we just sat and watched people and the kids played with their swords awhile. Then it was time to head into the Fantasmic theater. Great show, first time for us. The kids loved it!! Then we ran out of there and caught the bus back to the resort and did a little more shopping at the gift shop!

Did anyone get any Dreams granted?

We got stopped by a member of the Dream Team outside of Poohs Thotful Shop and he made Isabella an official member of the Hundred Acre Woods! She got a beautiful certificate signed by Pooh and the Gang. I am going to get it framed. :)

Welcome Back!!!

Dh got a dream fastpass in Animal Kingdom as soon as he got off Everest. He was so excited. He never even used it he wanted to save it

We didn't get any dreams granted, but we did have a Magical Moment. We were on the Carousel of Progress, just DH and I, and the CM asked two trivia questions. DH got one of them right. We were able to choose either an ice cream, popcorn, soda, or a fast pass. Since it was nearly closing time and time for Wishes (AND we were still full from our Ohana dinner), we chose the soda. We each got a bottle.

I saw a ton of people wearing the dream fast passes, but I only saw the Dream Team once, at IASW. They were with a family who was waving at the people as the boats start off (they sat above the ride with the CM).

Great Pics!
I kept my eyes open for you the whole time at the Poly. I cant believe I never saw you! Did you love the Poly? How did your cruise go?

We absolutely fell in love with the Poly. I did not for one second regret our decision to stay there. All the CMs that helped us there were extremely nice. We also just loved the whole look and feel of the resort especially at night. We visited a bunch of the other deluxes (only one we didn't go to was the Boardwalk and Beach Club resorts) and the look of the Poly definitely appealed to us the most. We will most definitely be going back to the Poly again and probably staying concierge again. Having our packages delivered directly to our room was more than worth the extra cost to us. It's those little extra things that can just make a trip super special.

The cruise was pretty good. The only thing I didn't like was that our boat was one of the last to arrive to the International Gateway bridge so we didn't get the best spot. I only had a half view of the fire portion of Illuminations. Otherwise, it was well worth doing if for no other reason than to have a seat for the show that we didn't have to camp out to get 2 hours earlier.

Marcy - that is funny that your DH got chosen as "That Guy" at Monsters Inc. My kids just thought that was the most hilarious :lmao: thing they ever heard for some reason. :confused3 Both times we saw the show that's all they would go around saying was "that guy" all day. Guess it struck them funny!! The second time we saw it they put both the boys up on the screen before the show (when they are making fun of people) and it said - "thinks catsup is made out of cats!" Boy did they get a laugh out of that!!:rotfl2:

My trip was wonderful at times, a bit hectic at others.

I have been trying to keep up with everyone's trips through their reports. It sounds as if yours was fabulous!:goodvibes

DH is ready to go back...immediately. I am surprised, I must say.:)

Day 2, May 15th – Woke up around 7:00 a.m. and rushed to get ready for our Early Magic Hour at Epcot! We stopped by the Pepper Market and got some fruit, juices and snacks for breakfast. As we were exiting the lobby area, one of the cast members stopped us…he had a DREAM TO GIVE US!!! OMG, my mind started to race…did we win a shopping spree? A night in Cinderella’s castle? A Disney Cruise? LOL!!! “Come with me” so we follow him into the back door of Panchito’s and he told us our dream…now don’t laugh…we got to open up the gift store!!! He took us to the front gate of the store, gave us tamborines and maracas and gave my son Chris the key and had him open the security as we made some noise. We got our dream certificates and laughed, thanked Karl and drove over to EPCOT.

My first impression was this: EPCOT is huge. Since we were able to get in early, we raced over to Test Track…no line, we walked right on. Awesome ride! Loved it! We were able to ride it 3 times in a row! Then we headed over to Mission Space and did that ride. We did the green side for the first time. I enjoyed that a lot. My kids wanted to do the orange side, but the park was opening up and I wanted to go over to the The Seas with Nemo and Friends ride before it got busy. We walked onto FN, no line again and then walked around and enjoyed all the exhibits. Very cool! We saw Turtle Talk with Crush. That was very neat! The younger kids really enjoyed that show.

By that time, our friends from Ft. Myers had arrive. They had to go to a time share meeting. They had got a free room for two nights at local resort – they just love to go to these things just to say no to the sellers and walk away with all their goodies. This time they ended up with over $500 worth of stuff. Not bad for about 2 hours of your time and endure their pitch.

We immediately went over to Sorin’, because I knew it would be a busy place and it sure was. We had to wait about 40 minutes to get on the ride. This is the exact same ride as in California Adventure. We loved it! (of course!) Then we headed over to the ride, “The Land”. That was a very interesting and educational experience. We really like the hybrid greenhouse plants that Disney was growing.

After that we headed over to World Showcase and started to make our way around the perimeter. We started with Canada and saw the Circle Vision show. Loved it! Disneyland used to have a Circle Vision show 15 years ago. It was fun to experience it again.

It was fun to poke around different countries. In France, we saw the film presentation there. That was a good show too. In Morocco we fooled around with the fez hats and took pictures of ourselves. When we got to Germany, we had pretzels and my wife got brautwurst and sauerkraut. Yummy stuff. Enjoy the toy trains there too!

Made our way down over to Mexico and had some food. The food was ok and you had to watch the birds all the time. They are bold suckers. They will jump on your table and grab your food in a instant.

We then headed back to Test Track and road that two more times, (we had gotten FP’s earlier) and then my boys and my friend did orange side of Mission Space. They said it was intense. I wouldn’t do it because I did not want to put any stress or pressure on my back. I picked up a cool hat at the Mouse Gear store and my wife got some stuff too. Onto the ride in Spaceship Earth! That was a nice and relaxing experience. I was surprised how long and how big of a ride it is. We then went on the Universe of Energy ride. Another interesting show and I really liked the way the walls and the theater seats moved around. I told my wife, you really know you have made it in life when Disney makes an Animatronic charater of you.

We went over to Cool and tried all the various soda drinks. We like the watermelon flavored one the best.

After that we headed over to Mexico again and rode the Grand Feista Tour. The sound wasn’t working at all, it came on at the last scene. So we told the CM and she let us stay on the ride and go through again. We all liked this ride. Donald gets skewered a lot! We had wished we had ate at the restaurant inside the pyramid and avoided all those birds! Next time!

Next stop was China, by this time my son had picked up an Epcot passport and he had started to get it filled out at all the Kidcot tables. He really enjoyed the experience. We saw the acrobats, that was very impressive.

Back over to Germany for more goodies and a rest. It was starting to get dark and we saw the Davy Jones show. I will have to put up some of the video I shot there on YouTube. This guy is still going strong…amazing!

When the concert was over, we walked back to the Germany area and saw the Illuminations fireworks show. That was an awesome presentation!!!

It was time to go and head back to our hotel. We said goodbye to our friends and made our way back to our car and to the hotel for a swim, jacuzzi and sleep.

We had to come back to Epcot again before coming home. I took a lot of pictures, and so much to see, you need more than a day to see it all. The flowers are so beautiful. I am so glad we went in May!

Tomorrow – Disney/MGM!
