Well, I'm having to save lots, because we pay OOP for meals and snacks. we have found that we save money that way, rather than the
DDP. Mary Cat is considered an adult on the plan...
But we don't ever eat breakfast in a restaurant, (we always have poptarts or cereal for the kids; protein shakes and a power bar for me and DH on the way to the parks; saves time and money) so that is a savings. So far, I have $225 saved. Shows you how often I shop!
As far as spending money for the kids, they each usually get a set amount of $ in Disney Dollars from "Tinkerbell" on their bed the first morning of the vacation sprinkled with pixie dust, along with a new shirt (
Disney store) to wear. Also, they get Tinkerbell gifts every morning of the vacation, usually related to the park we are going to.
The rule for them spending their Disney Dollars is that they have to wait until the last day to use it. A lot of times, they have gotten so much from Tinkerbell, that they end up buying something that is more expensive that they wouldn't have gotten otherwise.
