Morning Everybody...... What no Jo... she is usually the early bird.....

Shelly... it's a no go for CSR... DH decided to stay with the original plans of POP. He said it's better for out DD.

How is everybody's morning so far....

Morning.

I'm here, I've been on since early, but every time I go to post, something happens and I can't.

DH wanted to have coffee time this morning, so we sat and talked for an hour before he went in to work. We always do this on Saturday and Sunday. Try to during the week, but usually can't. So today, it worked out. Nice and relaxing.

Then I made his lunch (cutting corners, saving for WDW!) and breakfast for everyone.

You know how the morning slips away!

JO

Shelly, thanks for the link. I had looked there, but htey don't list how much the discount is for.

Huggie, accupuncture!?! I'm the one used to giving the pain away with needles, not the other way areound, LOL. Kidding. I'll see what they can do.

Mari~ sorry about CSR. But it will be good. You'll be in Disney, after all.

Michelle~ Hugs and prayers for you.

Jo

Lake, my friend. Are you still around these parts???

I can't wait to hear about your trip to Charleston. Hug my city for me. I miss it desperately.:guilty:

Make sure you go to the market and in one of the shops right down from the Planter's Inn is a candy store called River Street Sweets. Go in and get a Praline. I will warn you that they are very expensive. But they are the best things I have ever eaten. There are other shops that sell them, but this is the best shop. My Mom just mailed me 3 of them, since she said she knew her girl had been going through so much. Wasn't that sweet????

Have a great trip! If you take your laptop with you, give us details when you can, or if you need me to answer a question, just PM me.

Take lots of pictures!

Jo

Just a "Welcome" to the Holy City for Lake!

If I had a Pineapple smilie, I'd give it to you. A Pineapple is the symbol for "welcome" in the South.
You will see a lot of them on the iron fence posts in the city, "Welcoming" visitors to their house.

Just wanted to share something I'm doing to save (not really save, per se, as much as shifting funds, LOL) for the trip.
I like to have cash for things while we are there, rather than putting it all on the card and then paying it off once we get home. It hurts more to do it that way.;)

So every time I go to the store and use my debit card, I get $20 cash back. Then I am putting it away in a secret place so no one but me knows it's there!

And I am seeing it increase quickly. I don't really miss $20 here and there, but it is adding up fast. I think it will be a nice surprise for Dh when we get there in a year and I can tell him everything can be paid for with cash.:woohoo:

Jo

Great idea JO! :woohoo:

So far I have $75 reward dollars on my Disney Visa to use when we get there!! Not much, I know. Should be close to $150 by MAY. But we really just need spending money for DH & I. The kids have to save their allowance and birthday and holiday money for their spending money. It keeps them from blowing their money on stupid stuff throughout the year! I like to get us each a shirt on every trip, and the kids sure aren't going to buy clothes with their money! So the $75 I have now might get us each a shirt. :rotfl:

DMM... thinking about you and your family...prayers for Roman...
JC

Hi JC! :goodvibes

Now how am I supposed to make my plans without the parade and fireworks schedules???:rotfl:

I'm not even sure I can call Monday. :confused3 It is 180 days from my trip, but I am not making any ADR's for MAY 10 because we don't have our airline tickets yet.

Morning all...Seacrest...May is the way...think May and if that doesn't work...think November...MAY MAY MAY...
JC

Reservations are available 180 days out and 180 days + 10 for guests staying at a Disney Resort.. (This extra 10 days allows Disney Resort guests to book all of their ADRs on the same phone call as opposed to calling back each day as the 180 day mark passes) Be aware of the 180 mark and make your ADRs.

Shelly you can call on Monday...that is the 180 day mark and because you are staying on property you can make all your ADR's in that call...

Well, I'm having to save lots, because we pay OOP for meals and snacks. we have found that we save money that way, rather than the DDP. Mary Cat is considered an adult on the plan...
But we don't ever eat breakfast in a restaurant, (we always have poptarts or cereal for the kids; protein shakes and a power bar for me and DH on the way to the parks; saves time and money) so that is a savings. So far, I have $225 saved. Shows you how often I shop!:rotfl:

As far as spending money for the kids, they each usually get a set amount of $ in Disney Dollars from "Tinkerbell" on their bed the first morning of the vacation sprinkled with pixie dust, along with a new shirt (Disney store) to wear. Also, they get Tinkerbell gifts every morning of the vacation, usually related to the park we are going to.

The rule for them spending their Disney Dollars is that they have to wait until the last day to use it. A lot of times, they have gotten so much from Tinkerbell, that they end up buying something that is more expensive that they wouldn't have gotten otherwise.

Jo...love your pictures of Charleston...so much charm...beautiful
I have some beautiful old pineapple vases and bowls that my Mother handed down to me...she love that they were the symbol of "welcome".

I'm so glad your test are coming in and they can rule out so many things...I know it won't be long until they find the problem and get your on the road to recovery...

What did the teachers and union do...is there school??? popcorn::

Aw, thanks JC!

I forgot to tell you the news of the strike, silly me.

Two weeks ago, the school board offered the union a 4% raise in salary and they rejected it. Last night, theunion proposed a 4% increase...and the school board rejected it.:rotfl: It's actually gotten quite comical.

So, since the kids will not have any other breaks for the remainder of the year, I have told them that they have to celebrate the Holiday of

Doesn't seem to be going over too well.

This may be our last trip that we get the dining plan. DS will be 9 this time, so it's likely the next time we go back he will be 10. And I am not paying $38 or whatever it is a day for a kid that doesn't eat $38 worth of food in a week!

As far as the kids spending their money, we just let them get whatever they want!!! It's vacation and the money they have is the money they earned and saved. We try to guide them to better choices, but that doesn't always work! :rotfl: I just keep a running tab for them and tell them - if you buy this, you will have this much money left. . . then they can decide if it's worth it!
