Oh god getting a house is such hard work.. too many things to take into consideration.....:crazy2:

as far as weather is concerned my mother and party are there now they said it's hot but tolerable... i'm scared about humidity... i guess my hair will be in a permanent bun for the time there... i have curly hair and in the humidity it gets :scared1: ....

Thanks NewCrew!

Moving from Bentonville AR to Pittsburgh was a bit of a shock as far as the markets go. DH's Relo company, however, says the markets are comparable. Um, okay, whatever. In my price range in Bentonville, I'd be in a 5000 sq ft brand new home. Here, I'm looking at 45 year old homes that need $100,000 in renovations. Case in point...

saw an open house sign the other day to a house. Stopped and went in. House was 40 years old. Never been updated, however, had an indoor pool. Needed about $200,000 in updates. The asking price?? $900,000. I might would pay $350,000 as is. It definitely was not a million dollar home.

This market is insane.

wow so i really need to have it in a bun if this happens to straight hair..... my poor dd will get scared of her mommy....:sad1:

I am so tired I want to cry. I just fell asleep when of course the lawn service for our complex decideds to mow the grass and weed wack right outside my bedroom window, then they are using a leaf blower on the gutters and are banging the poo out of them. PLEASE MAKE THEM STOP!!!!:headache: :headache:

Working overnights really stink sometimes. :sad2: I think I need a vacation.

Is it MAY yet??:)

Jo - Would your DH consider commuting to work? Once you get out of the city the market really isn't that bad around here. Neither are the taxes. We have 1.3 acres and our taxes are around $2500 total, and we are in a brand new development. Several of our neighbors commute to Butler, Cranberry, and Pittsburgh just to live in this school district and for the lower cost of living.

Just a thought!

Link for Jo - Does it make you miss Bentonville?

My brother is living in Springdale working for a company that works for wal-mart. They love it there. (They were almost transferred at Christmas to Chicago or NYC. My SIL was so upset because she really likes there.) The public schools are better there than they are here in Little Rock. I would LOVE to live in that area. It is beautiful. I think the cost of living there would be less for us just because of the schools. (If I lived there I might change my mind.) This is the first place I have ever lived that I felt like my children had to go to private schools. Every move has it's trade offs. It just amazed me that here you change neighborhoods and your cost of services double or triple.

Oh, the cost of housing here is very comparable to where we were in OH. TX was the least. Cheap taxes there as well. We once looked at housing in CA (when we were leaving TX.) I walked out and cried after the first house. My sympathies for the cost of housing to all of those in CA.

Oh, well.

RNRC or TOT?

RNRC !!! And DS 8 is fianlly tall enough to ride with me this time!! Well, hopefully. He is just at 48 inches. I hope they don't give us any trouble. I read on another thread that if your child is right at the height line sometimes (depending on the cast member) they can tell you NO.
Has anyone had this experience???

Well, no yogurt in the house. Had to settle for a bowl of Kashi ceareal with Hemp granola thrown in and a bowl of cantaloupe and bluberries.

That'll do.:goodvibes

You make me hang my head in shame. That is so healthy.
