Yep. The schools would be the same. I actually met a lady yesterday from the neighborhood that the house is in, and she said exactly what I've been feeling. She said they looked all over F. Chapel and couldn't find anything they liked. Then they went into this neighborhood and it was like finding a jewel amongst a pile of rubble. It's so true.

I just can't get past the $10,000 a year in taxes.

I guess you wouldnt want to live in Long Island. We pay about 8,000. My girlfriend pays about 11,000 and she has a smaller lot size than me.

I did a little more Disney shopping yesterday - some shorts for hubby and another new swimsuit for me, and I found the sunblock I like. I'm still pretty behind though! I need new clothes!
I am going to have to leave dd with dh soon and grab a girlfriend and do a MAJOR shopping day. Can't wait!

Jo - Would your DH consider commuting to work? Once you get out of the city the market really isn't that bad around here. Neither are the taxes. We have 1.3 acres and our taxes are around $2500 total, and we are in a brand new development. Several of our neighbors commute to Butler, Cranberry, and Pittsburgh just to live in this school district and for the lower cost of living.

Just a thought!

I would love to move by you. My dh commutes everyday. He goes everywhere from NJ to the end of Long Island.

So..what type of things do people still have left to buy for their trip?

I think I'm mostly done shopping (hahaha - who am I kidding?).

I dont think I need anything. But I am sure I can think of something.

Hello again! I am back from the Gym. We ended up eating lunch at home. Chicken noodle soup and grilled cheese for dd, grilled bbq chicken sandwich with cheese for dh and salad for me. LOl, I feel like a short order cook sometimes but I have to clean out the fridge.
We are going to go out to dinner instead, just dh and I ( a date! ) I'm thinking SUSHI!

I have very thick, wavy hair and when we went last September it was really long. UGH! with the humidity it was puffed out to at least twice its normal size - it was seriously out of control! I had to wear a braid just about every day. This year I have it in a shortish bob and now I'm worried b/c its to short to put up [

Me too, I am trying to stretch it out until next week for dh's work function next week and then I want to get another one before Disney.

Jo- I needed to get those Spanx. I had never gotten them before and I found a dress for dh's function next week. But it is VERY form fitting so I needed something to suck me up and smooth me out. I cannot believe how great they are and I had never worn them before.

Thanks for the link. Funny thing is... I KNOW EXACTLY WHERE THAT HOUSE IS! My friends just moved into that neighborhood. Ah, to be back where the cost of living is cheap and the houses are brand new.

In B'ville, my children went to year-round school, and yes, they were awesome. I am already missing that schedule!

DH worked for a vendor, calling on Wal-Mart, too. His old boss lives in Springdale. Small world.

Girl, one of the those chicks had Spanx on the other night and her dress kept coming up and the camera kept showing the bottom of it hanging out. dh was like "Um, aren't those those girdle thingy's, and how old is she and she hasn't had children yet." And I was Because the only reason he knows about them is cause I've worn them...on occasion.

I'm in the same boat as you for hair, I cut mine off from being halfway down my back to a chin-length very layered bob. I find that either bobby pins or clips to pin back the front really help keep things in check. I'm considering cutting the rest off into a pixie-ish cut, but haven't made up my mind on that yet.

That is too funny that you know where that house is. I looked into the cost of housing there when I found that link. Houses are $20 to $25 a square foot cheaper there than in Little Rock. For a 5,000 sq. foot house, that is $100k less. No wonder my brother and his wife like it there so much!

My SIL says most kids there go to public school, unlike here. That the schools are wonderful if you are in the right district for elementary at least. She also says it is all about Wal-Mart, Tyson, and JB Hunt up there! Most people are connect to one of these three companies in someway.

It is just so hard to make the adjustments of moving. I had thought moving 5 minutes away would be easier than moving cross country. DH and I decided we will take a relocation package anyday of the week. It is so nice to have your stuff moved for you, points paid down, moving allowance, realty fees paid, corporate buy on your house if you need it. (Which was nice, we never needed it but when someone made an offer on the house, we could always no way too low, our buy it is higher, plus we always got really high buy out offers, so we always got full asking price offers on our homes when we moved.) Geez! It almost sounds like I want to move again!
