I've been busy for 2 days counting the fundraising money for the PTO fundraiser.

Mari - Glad you and DD enjoyed the museum!

RF - I'm glad I didn't go to the Celebration thing since it was so lame. That's what I was afraid of! Congrats on booking your trip today!! WOW, I haven't even booked my January trip yet! I have a room only ressie for now, still waiting on an awesome code to come out for a package!

I think that is what I did last year with my Disney Visa code for the free hopping..... I can't remember.....

I think that I may book without hoppers now, and then add the code when it comes out (or if they don't offer that this year, then we'll figure out if we even need them... )

Here I am- just logged on- I've been at Wal Mart for about 3 hours!

What is it about that place that sucks you in and you leave after 3 hours, wondering what you did? Kinda like the Twilight Zone.

I think I have over planned. I am, truthfully- and this is the God's honest truth- I'm looking more forward to being in Gainesville for the game on that Saturday than the rest of the trip. We just love it so much- and we're gonna meet up with tons of Mark's family- they are all Gator grads- so we can't wait to see them.

WDW overload, I think is what I have.
Never thought I'd say it.

BUUUUTTTT- it always happens to me every year in the middle of the football season.

We live Gator football in this house, LOL. Either the game or the coach's show or the SUN network --- (and always the Gator forums on line )----- are on 24/7. Even when the boys are away- I find myself critiquing the games. hahahahahaha


Okay- so there you have it.

My true confession.
I am a college football fanatic.

Yeah, you can add a code to the package. But at the time I made my ressie the 2009 packages weren't even out yet, so I just booked the room only. Then when the packages came out I guess I just figured why bother calling again and then having to call yet another time when a code comes out! Just lazy I guess!

Good morning! Wow, it is going to be another hot day out here. It was almost 80 at 9am. The Santa Ana winds are suppose to kick up sometime today, so it will be even hotter.

Got to go see some clients today, Hollywood, Downtown, and Burbank. Hopefully I will be back into town before 3pm and the evening traffic starts.

Going to a dinner fundraiser tonight for my wife's new school.

Hi everybody...

OK, I just posted this on the DL thread, but thought I'd run it by my Mayer buddies:

I just spent an hour on the phone with Disney regarding a PIN code offer I received, and I am really confused -- I have no idea if I have saved money or not

I just reserved my package directly with Disney online on Sunday 10/5, and got the PIN postcard in the mail yesterday. I called the number on the card just to find out if the PIN offer was a better deal than what I had booked. Originally I had

4 nights DL Hotel 12/12-12/15, checking out 12/16
5 day PH passes for 2 adults
Toontown Morning Madness (didn't care about this, have done it before)
pins and lanyards (again, no big deal, we have great lanyards)
Vacation protection (we aren't flying, but it covered cancellation due to sickness, etc, and was 119.90 of our total)
Total w/taxes and everything -- 1691.98 and I had paid 319.90 deposit.

Now I have:
4 nights DL Hotel 12/12-12/15, checking out 12/16
5 day PH passes for 2 adults
no extras
resort fee of approx $13.50/day including tax (not included in total)
Total w/taxes: 1300.40, w/resort fee will be approx 1354.40, paid 240.35 deposit today

They were going to charge me $100 cancellation fee (I'm NOT cancelling, I just wanted to know if this is a better deal) and the 119.90 vacation protection insurance. She spoke to a supervisor, and now they are going to charge me a $100 penalty, and refund 219.90 of the original deposit back to my CC, but it will take 1-2 billing cycles. So....

I am totally confused, did I save anything or not??? I THINK I saved
1691.98 - 1354.40 = 337.58 - 100.00 penalty= 237.58? But I lost the vacation protection and the other perks, most of which I didn't care about...

Any help understanding this?

I totally think you saved $- here's why-

you actually see a savings in $ amount- even though you aren't getting the "extras".
It's all about perception.

You don't care about toontown madness or the lanyards- so money saved. IF you had been heartbroken over the extras being lost- It might not have been as sweet of a deal.

The cancellation penalty bites big time- WTH is up with that? It's not like you won't be filling the room---?

As far as vacation insurance- ehh- we never get it anyway and we fly.
I woudn't necessarily pay extra for it.

I think you did GOOD.
B/C regardless, it's less cash flow out of your pocket- which means........ more mouse gear to buy!

I think that's what irritated me the most. I'm not canceling, I just made the reservations literally 3 days ago, then got this postcard that DISNEY mailed ME -- it's not a deal I saw in a magazine or website, they have my name on it and solicited me. And, seriously...this is our third Disney vacation this year! February I took DSD and DGD to DL when I was driving them home to AZ, then Brrt and I just spent a week at WDW, and now another 5 days at DL. C'mon Disney, where's the love?

I was also frustrated because the girl told me she couldn't email a confirmation, it would be snail mail, and when I asked her if the letter would show that we got 5 day hopper passes, she kept saying that it wouldn't be itemized. So I sure hope there is something confirming exactly what we are getting. I was just exhausted after being on the phone with her for an hour. And now I've paid 2 deposits (319.90 and 240.35), and have to wait 1-2 billing cycles for a partial refund (219.90) of the first one to hit my credit card account. So I just don't know I sent an email to guest services with all the details -- if nothing else, maybe they can send an email confirmation of exactly what we are getting. Basically, the room for 12/12-12/16, 5 day hoppers, and one early entry to Fantasyland...and that's fine. I'd just like something in writing.

Hey, does anyone have a picture of the WDW sign? You know the one you drive under? I can never get a picture of it on the ME bus. I thought maybe I could do something with a picture of it for my Christmas surprise!

I can't wait to tell the kids!! They are going to be so excited and surprised!!
