Not much to clean up...just a few things off the shelves, books and stuff, a few crooked pictures. We have our place pretty earthquake proof, since we have been through a few big ones. We have our bookcases and china cabinets attached to the walls. so that they don't fall over on anyone or anything. We use the stuff 'quake hold' which is like a putty for stuff like tvs and other stationary items to tack down to the surface of things.

good morning... it's looking like rain here today.

so PA'ers... what's the weather looking like through the weekend???

Thanks for all the selling vibe's yesterday.... unfortunately the agent and client didnt show... there was a miscommunication on their part. My agent and I were not happy to say the least. After all the cleaning, and my parents taking the kids out for the day... it was a lost day I could have spent with my mom and dad yesterday before they left. ( they were only here visiting for 3 days. :(

Oh well... I know that when it's meant to be..it will happen.;)

yeah slow day... and today that i have nothing to do at work...

Alrighty then how do we keep Mari entertained at work?? haha

If Jodi was here... she'd be asking what's for lunch... so I guess I just did it for her.

Lets' see what am I haveing in the next hour or so... I think that
the kids and I are eating left over pizza from last night..haha

I was thinking of heading to the mall this afternoon.. but then thought I should save that money for the outlet on saturday when I may be meeting up with Shelly.. :)

Hope the move is going well Jodi
Hope the ground has stopped shaking Sea

hey y'all-
just a fast hello before lunch--(Subway, again, btw Lake- thx for asking)

the house is just about empty. The kitchen is just being finished up- the LR,DR, All bedrooms are done. It's amazing how easy moving is when you don't have to pack up!:cool1:

Sea- so glad you are okay- I was telling my Mom about you and your family- and she said "ask him why they live there, aren't they scared of the earthquakes?" I said "You're a fine one to talk, Missy, with your Hurricanes on the East coast." She laughed and said "Okay, you got me there."

Speaking of earthquakes- our home insurance almost doubled moving from PA to AR- ---------- NC.... they told us that earthquake insurance in AR is mandatory-- and it was almost $400 a yr extra.:confused3 Do you know anything about it? we have insurance thru USAA.

Mari---- I wanted to tell you that your dates in January SHOULD be okay. Expect a bit of crowds on the fourth, dwindling after that weekend. Kids probably go back to school on that monday. The website (that shall not be named-;) ) has it listed as 5's and 6's.;)
We went one year January 2- 9th and the crowds got less each day.

Lake-- so sorry about your showing yesterday, that stinketh. I hate showing the house. Good thoughts and MAYer prayers headed your way for a fast sell.:wizard: :snooty:

Huggie--- girl- I have missed seeing yo' face around these here parts! Where ya been????   The MAYers aren't the same if EVERYONE doesn't come out to play.:goodvibes

RF- how you doin?
Shelly- how about you??? How's the weather up North?????:rotfl:
Katiebell- hope you are doing okay.

They will be packing my computer tomorrow right before they load, so I can't check in too much more.
Hope all is going good.
Hugs to everyone-
Jo

Jo - the move sounds like it is going good. It does help when you don't have to pack up yourselves. We will miss you the couple of days you can't check in.... TY for the info on the crowd level....

Lunch - for me today i don't know what i'll get.... i probably won't eat anything and just wait to get home tonight.

Hey all!

The ground hasn't moved for about 12 hours or so - at least I haven't felt it move since then.

Beautiful day, it is about 79 and sunny.

Heard from my friends at DL that they closed down the rides for about 2 or 3 hours to inspect them and make sure that they were OK. People were lined up at City Hall all the up Main St. up to the Candy Palace (2/3rds of MS) wanting refunds - Disney gave them one day passes to come back once, they expire in 2 years. Everything got up running except the Monorail, Grizzly River Run and Maliboomer -Disney was spending extra time inspecting those rides. Before the earthquake, Indiana Jones ride went down. One of the ride vehicles went off the track and hit the wall in the show building. No word yet when the ride will reopen. Bummer!

Seacrest

Hello MAYers! :goodvibes Busy morning with swimming lessons and groceries and errands here. . .

Sorry about the showing Lake, that really stinks! I will PM you about this weekend.

Sea, so glad you are okay! That is really scary.

Glad the move is going well JO.

Hey Mari & RF! :yay:

Along the Mississippi River is a fault line called the New Madrid Fault. In 1812 there was an earthquake that is estimated to have been 8.0 on the Richter Scale. It changed the course of the Mississippi River and the river flowed backwards for a brief period of time. Supposedly the quake caused churchbells to ring in Boston, MA, and chimneys to topple in Maine.

I have lived in Arkansas for a few of these. I don't remember feeling anything. We were in Texarkana, TX for the most recent but I don't remember it.

Our homeowners insurance is very expensive. About 5 years ago, there had been a series of devasting tornadoes, hail, and ice storms. We didn't file any claims or have any damage, but the company we had homeowners insurance with completely pulled out of Arkansas. They refused to insure anyone living in this state. We had gone thru a friend of ours who did private insurance and had a great rate. We were so sad. We ended up going with a larger company. The down side of that was that the company had returned our insurance payment to our home mortgage bank. We have always esrowed our homeowners insurance. The bank contacted us to tell us we were no longer insured. It took a couple of months as the bank kept resubmitting the payment because the insurance company never said they cancelled our insurance until finally they called me, I called the insurance company, many hours of trying to talk to the "right" person to see what was going on and finally the insurance company says, "We have pulled out of Arkansas." It was really strange. You would think they would have sent a letter to us. We had a couple of months that we were "uninsured." :scared1:

Hey guys, I am here.

Last night was my last night at cake decorating class. I am not sure if I told you about that. I was doing it at Michaels. It was fun.I am going to do it again in Sept.

Jo- Glad everything is going well with the move.
Are you getting excited?

so PA'ers... what's the weather looking like through the weekend???

It's currently raining here. We've had such nice weather lately so I guess we were do for this.

Looks like - Sat 82 rain / Sun 90 sunny / Mon 88 storms / Tues 85 storms / Wed 80 cloudy. How long will you be here?

Lake - Not sure if you noticed, but one of the earthquakes was in Blytheville. That is the area where they mostly are. If Arkansas is a square, Blytheville is in the upper right hand corner, Bentonville (where Jo is moving is in the upper left hand corner.

JO, I bet you will miss the low cost of living we have here in PA! It's the ONE thing we have!! :rotfl:
