Hey RF - Congrats on the vacation..... well you will save money alone by NOT going for 12 days you can go for a week 7days/6nights. that is enough. Value resort would be great. Next time i go in 2010 I will stay in CBR. not sure about value season as the only times i have gone are May, July and now coming up Dec. I loved May. I know it was a bit warm but last year it wasn't like that so i'm thinking i'll give May another chance.

NC - OOOHHHHH i would love to go to Vegas.... that is a good place for just u and the DH. you guys can catch a show, some massages and maybe a little gambling.....

Oh yeah RF . not sure but i passed by POP and thought it looked GREAT... you should try there..... ask all the other mayers that have stayed there...

Hey mari!

yeah i am thinking that we will only go for a week this time (maybe 8 days... or just 10... :rolleyes1 :rotfl2: ) i am a junkie! i know... it's shameful ;)

but - yeah i am almost positive that we will stay at pop - mainly because of the buses there - i heard that they do not share buses with the other value resorts and the other 3 have the same bus most of the time - yuck!
after my transportation nightmares last trip - that is the one thing that i am trying to avoid!

so at least for the time being - it looks like i am going to be an '09 MAYer!!! :snooty:

i am just wondering if we should do the dining plan again this time :confused3 we did deluxe and i think that is waay too much food - i am hoping that the regular ddp will be good enough... hmmm...hey, when you guys figure out if you are saving money on the plan or not - do you just guess the price of what you would spend - or look at the menus choose what you think you'll eat and then subtract the difference ... - i really want to do my homework this time and choose things wisely - i feel like it is the ONLY way DH will ley us go back every year

Okay- really quick- I can't write or read much so I haven't caught up yet to everyone's doin's---- but.........................................

Mark is going to get the job. :scared1:
We think.
He has a "talk" scheduled with Human Resources for next week. Our inside source is saying that out of respect for his boss, yadda yadda, he can't say to put the sign in the yard but to be prepared, blah blah.

And I am an insane woman-
our neighborhood is having a yard sale tomorrow(!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) and I hadn't planned on participating b/c we hadn't heard anything----
now this news and I am running around trying t throw stuff in it that I have accumulated in the last 9 months from the last move. Oh boy.

The state, I can now say----

is Arkansas. :) Hi NC!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll try to write more later. Gotta go.

Hi!

Hope you are all having a great day. It is about 80 out here today. Nice and sunny.

RF - Glad to hear you are going back to WDW next year! Can't wait to hear about your plans. I am patiently waiting to see your pics :D

Mari - I didn't know that you were going back to WDW during Christmas time. Great! What are your dates?

NC - Vegas in July is HOT HOT HOT!!! Day and night the heat just keeps on blasting through that town. Do you have any shows picked out?

Jo - Exciting news Jo. So does that move make you closer to WDW or DLR? :rotfl2:

Have a good day! Sea

I would look at the menus of where you would plan on going and see what you would get... add it all together and see the total... then i would figure out how much the DDp would be and figure it out that way... but remember Disney might increase the prices next year... they usually do... Good Luck

Transportation at POP! is wonderful! You will love it! We hardly waited for buses.

When we tried to decide on the Dining Plan, I would add up what I would normally order. Usually, I do not order an app. or dessert, and I think the DDP includes those. So the DDP just didn't add up for us. Plus, then with a 10 year old and 13 year old that would be on the DDP, they just didn't want grown up food. So, it was out for us.

I hope that helps.

I can say, we have stayed deluxe and have stayed value and have enjoyed the value more. We did get two rooms at a value vs. one room at a deluxe, but we just really enjoyed the values. We enjoyed the food court and the transportation. It just worked out well for us.

It seemed if we wanted to eat TS at a resort that we usually we to several resorts, rather than only using the TS at the resort we were staying at.

I think someday when the kids are gone, DH and I will stay at the CR again. But then again, who knows, I like to travel to several places in a year, so I may just stay with the values, and take more trips!!!

:cutie:

Weather for Vegas in July Low -81°F High 105°F Humidity 24%

Weather for Little Rock in July Low - 73 High - 93 Average AM Humidity: 86%

Let me just tell you HUMIDITY stinks! It just makes you miserable. End of July and Early August we do get into the triple digits here and with the humidity our heat index is off the charts. So, we think we will be ok with the heat. We can always just stay in doors which is what we do here that time of year.

We went out to Visalia, CA in July one year. We thought we were in heaven. There wasn't any humidity. In Arkansas, we always say, "It's not the heat, it's the humidity."

I have been looking at the Cirque shows. DH has seen the Beatles LOVE and says it is wonderful. I haven't seen any of the shows. Not even Blue Man.

What have you seen? What would you recommend?

Dry heat..yea I have heard all about that. LOL.

My favorite shows? Elton John / Red Piano, Beatles Love, Mac King and Lance Burton and Danny Gans.

I don't really like the CdS shows too much. Too artsy fartsy for me.

Blue Man group is loud and boring to me too. I left after 10 minutes. I can see weirdos banging on cans in Santa Monica for free. Got money back too.

That is off the top of my head...for now.

My dh has seen Beatles LOVE and just thinks it is awesome.

I have seen one CdS show and loved it. Since you said artsy fartsy, I am sure it would be right down my alley. DH maybe not, but I will probably love it. I love that sort of thing. I would probably like Blue Man group too. :lmao: We don't get guys banging on cans around here. Gang bangin' yes, can bangin' no. :lmao:

Happy Sunday everyone! It's already about 73 at 6:40 a.m. this morning, and it suppose to go up about 90 here today in Santa Monica. Have a good day Mayers!

Hi guys!

My microwave died this morning. :flower3: May it R.I.P.

It is built in but not the over the range type. It is a countertop type that has a built in kit. It looks likes we are going to have to order one as well as another kit. Of course, they have changed the size of the microwave so the old kit will not work. :headache: Of course, no one has these in-stock. We may check a local appliance store here that isn't open on Sundays. My appliances always die on Saturday night or Sundays.

Have a great day!

OH may NC's microwave RIP... it had a good life in the NC's home.

hey guys.... well yesterday was my sister's babyshower. I am SO TIRED.... i couldn't wait for it to be over... but her boyfriend let me in on a little secret... he's going to propose soon so here i go with planning again... but her shower was beautiful we did it a tiffany theme since that is so up her alley... i can't wait to get pics so i can post the pic of her cake very cute....

Today i'm off of work i have to go to brooklyn to those not from here it's about 45 min from where i live and traffic there is HORRIBLE... well my stepson was beat up by like 20 guys and they broke his jaw in 2 places so he had surgery this morning so we are off to see him a little later.... thank god he's moving back with us to our little town of hawthorne where nothing happens....

will check in later.... i hope everyone enjoys their day....

mornin-

Mari- I hope your Step son is okay. Gosh, that is just awful! When is he moving in with you?

NC- wwhen are you going to Vegas?? Where will you stay? Dh used to go there for business. He said The Venetian is indescribable. This coming from a man who has stayed everywhere, it would seem.:)

Sea- Blue Man group- I don't think I'd like it either. Seems odd to me...:confused3 How's your weather? Hey- I keep forgetting to ask you- are you going to WDW in the fall?

Hello to everyone else----

I am missing WDW---'

the stress of these past few weeks is getting to me.

On Friday, Belle rode her scooter alllllllllllll the way across the front of the Acura and scratched it deeeeeeeeep. No wax has worked.

Yesterday afternoon, Drew stuck his fist through the screen door, so that will have to be replaced.

And all day long yesterday, Mary Cat cried b/c she didn't bring home a ginormous project that was due this morning first period. She was responsible for typing it up for her group. THEN, when she went to go get in her bed to sleep, she tripped and get this--- her knee hit the corner of the wall- and it bent the metal joist in the wall and the sheetrock crumbled. It's going to be quite a repair. She had an awful day. LOL- so did Mark. hahaha

But, all was not awful..... it was Beau Gator the Bulldog's birthday so we had a party for him!!! He got a bone, two different types of treats and a cupcake. We sang happy B-day to him and he ripped open his presents.
Yes, he is as spoiled as me. He's Momma's baby.:lovestruc

Waiting for the word of an offer on the job so we can contact the realtor.
Cleaning today----- trying to keep busy and keep my mind off of the future.

Hope everyone has a good day!

Jo

Good morning Mayer friends...

Mari, great news for your sis...very sorry to hear about your step son! Hope he is doing ok, and glad he is moving back home.

NC, what a pain when much-used appliances die. And of course, it couldn't just be easy to replace, had to be complicated, right? :headache: Our last major appliance that died was the fridge, last May. DH was out of state, so I measured the spot, went to Sears, found a fridge that I THOUGHT was the right size...when they delivered it, it was barely the right height to fit under the cabinet, but quite a bit more narrow than the last one...and we lost like 2 cu ft of space...which is a LOT. Good thing we don't have a huge family, because hardly anything fits in this thing! And my stove died 1 week before Thanksgiving a couple of years ago...had to run out and buy one immediately, or how could I make turkey and pie???  And to think what pioneer women used to have to use to keep their families fed and their houses clean. I don't think that rug beaters broke as often as vacuums do... :rotfl2:

Jo, pixie dust to you for no more mishaps with cars or screen doors, and no job/moving/waiting stress! :wizard:

Had a fun weekend with my boys and DH...played some computer games, got bills paid, grocery shopping done, car washed, laundry washed, had a BBQ...and the house is STILL a mess :scared1: Wish I could just take 3 days off and stay home alone to clean.

Sea, it's been really warm up here too, 103 on Friday, but it calmed down a little after that, now high 90's. Yesterday was horrible, lots of smoke from fires caused by lightning strikes. Looks ugly-hazy again today, hard to breathe for those of us with asthma :worried:

My mom finally picked a senior's apartment to move in to! Now I gotta buy a plane ticket, and will fly out there probably 7/12-7/18 to get her moved in. Not the way I wanted to use my vacation time, but I'm grateful I have the time to take -- she is 78, my step-dad is 76, and they just can't care for themselves at home anymore. The place is beautiful, 3 meals a day, housekeeping once a week, has a clinic, pharmacy, beauty/barber shop, card/billiard room, library, movie theater room, activities, transportation to the doctor and the store, field trips, etc. I think they will both be a lot happier.

OK, gotta fly! Have a great day you guys!
