After watching the local tv morning show yesterday, my wife and son decided to head down to DL for a couple of hours to see if they could pick up some TSMM opening day merchandise. They got down there around 2:00 p.m. and both parks were quite crowded.

TSMM ride had a 4 hour wait time!

They did pick up some opening day pins that were limited edition, so that was good. They also met up with a new friend they met on VMK. She was visiting from FL and this was her first trip to DLR. They hanged around together, rode a bunch of rides in DL, watched the fireworks, and closed the park, but spent another hour shopping on MS until about 1 a.m. My wife didn't come home until after 2 am.

guys i miss WDW..... i'm actually in the process of finally putting together a photobook of our trip. I'm not as crafty as others so i'm just ordering it from snapfish..... what can i say....

Morning Mari!

Good for you working on your photo album! I made mine months and months ago and it is still sitting here. . . . I really need to get on that. . . Last year at this time I had it all done. I am still waiting on our photopass CD though. . .

I am really missing WDW too. Waking up in the hotel every morning this past weekend really made me feel like we should be in Disney! (Although the hotel was much cleaner and quieter!! ) I am really really hoping for a great deal to come out for this Jan/Feb !! If we do end up getting a good offer and we book, we aren't going to tell the boys until Christmas morning and that is going to be their Christmas present ! They will be so surprised!! They keep asking when we are going back and I just keep saying - I don't know, it may be a long time until we get back to WDW. . . I probably won't be able to keep it a secret that long, but we'll see. . .

We just got back from swim lessons a little while ago. They are both doing great this year. Much braver than last year!

Busy day out here today.

Mari - Glad you liked the slide show/video. My favorite part of the day was when "Push" the trash can was listening to guy's IPOD and told him how much he like Hannah Montana too. ROTFLOL!!!

Shelly - I am going to subscribe and read your dining report. I hope you find a good deal for WDW next year. From what I have been hearing, expect lots of good travel offers the next few months.

Hey guys!

We've been busy here on the home front.

I took the kids to the eye doctor. My ds needs glasses. The doctor offered him contacts and even popped some in his eyes and he said, "No way am I sticking my finger in my eye everyday." I thought all teenagers wanted contacts.

My dd's eyes have gotten worse. She is now a -2.5 in each eye. They popped contacts in her eyes and she loved them! This morning she was able to get the contacts in each eye fairly easily. She did great!

My dh got home from CT early this morning, like 1:30 a.m. The flight out of NY was delayed 3 hours. They flew into Memphis. There were no more flights from Memphis to Little Rock last night so they rented a car a drove home.

I had to do a recorded statement this morning for the attorney in the rear end car collision case. I cannot believe that is still going on. The girl has now hit someone else too. She has had at least 3 wrecks that we know of since the new year. Can you believe that?

I took my ds to see the Hulk today. I loved it! It had several clever references to Ironman and to the old hulk series. I love it when there are clever and subtle things in a movie.

Sea & Shelly - I love the pics! Those are awesome!

Jo - Keep us posted when you know for sure about the job. If this is not the job, I know God has something even better planned for you guys!

Mari - Let us know what your plans are for your trip! We need to keep up the excitement planning yours, Katiebells, and Jo's Trips!

i know, i know - i am a failure with my wdw pictures it is shameful... i wanted to post them with my TR - but you all see how well that turned out - i'm not even 4 days in to my 12 day trip! and there are no pictures to be seen

i promise i will get it together... i haven't even sent out wedding... or shower... thank you's yet. i am BAD at this game.

speaking of - i have a wedding to go to tomorrow - it's one of those obligation weddings that i am dreading, it's a few of bob's friends that he really doesn't talk to at all anymore - but they came to our wedding for an hour or so - so we have to go to theirs. i think that i am being espeially bratty about it because these people are still very "clique-y" like they never left high school, and i am not going to know ANYONE, so bob is basically going to have to babysit me all night... sigh

OH OH!!! BUT! I have better news - I got the go ahead to plan WDW for
'09!!!!

bob is actually the one that suggested it! we heard "love in an elevator" or whatever that song is called from aerosmith in the car on the way to work this morning - and he was like "awww - RnRC... I miss Disney!" my reaction was -

so i casually say, "Yeah me too, so when do you think we will be able to go back"
and he said "well, next year obviously - but when?"
me- " i was thinking feb/sept or oct"
him - "hmmm, sept/oct is too far..."
me - (inside my head)
him - "... and in feb i would be afraid that some of our favorite rides won't be open because it is value season..."
me - (in my head) hmmm, i tought him well
me - (out loud) "well, when do you think"
him - "i like may, it was a little hot - but we're in florida, we don't want it to be the same temp as it is in pgh - but then again we could save some money if we go in a value season"
me - "ok, well then i think if we are going in a moderate season - i could save us some money by staying at a value resort... "
him - "OH OK! That's a great idea!"
me - (inside)
me - (out loud) "ok"





so - i need help planning again! i really want to save us some money this time around - because our honeymoon... sheesh..... that's all i have to say!

Morning All!

RF - That sounds great! I think you can be very happy at a value. My silly family just loves it and doesn't want to stay anywhere else. We basically just sleep at our resort. My dd does swim, but to her a pool is a pool. We have stayed at POP! and have really enjoyed it. Huggie has too!

My hubby and I have been talking about taking a little trip without the kids. Since it is the end of July, I worried about going to the beach, the carribean, maybe somewhere in Mexico because of hurricane season. July is a little early in hurricane season but we have had several friends the last couple of years that felt they needed to leave due to a tropical storm or a full blown hurrcane from around Mid-July into August.

We could only go for maybe 4 to 5 days. So as we kept talking, it seemed like Las Vegas might be a great place for us to go. I know it will be hot, but it will be hot here. I don't think Vegas has the humidity that we have here so that should help.

Well, we were looking at the 24th thru the 28th. When my dh was in the car driving back from Memphis with his boss, he mentioned that we were thinking about this trip. Well, his boss says that sounds great, in fact there is a show in Vegas around that time. Maybe you could work the show and you and your wife could stay a few days before the show or after. This is a big deal. Just after my hubby went to work there, we were told that sort of thing never happens. That the company is not going to "pay" for employees vacations. That you can't take your family or wife on a business trip and let them stay in your room, etc. For the year and a half that we have been there, we haven't seen it happen.

I told my dh, this would be wonderful. I would even work in the booth handing out bags. I would be a bag lady, if they want. Or, I could disappear and go to the spa or shopping everyday and they wouldn't even know I was there!

Send me some Pixie Dust! I hope this works out!

i have never been to vegas, i hear that it is the type of a place that you either LOVE or HATE so i am not sure that i will ever go... but, you never know and especially if it was company paid - hey count me in!!

i agree with you on the hot vs. humid argument - i can be in hot weather all day - but when it is muggy and humid - that's when i want no parts of it.

Well, I almost think his boss is thinking my dh would miss fewer days of work if we combine our trip with the business. He is absolutely correct. Of course, I think it would be a win-win for everyone!
