may 12, 2012 7 Night Western on the Fantasy

Hey! Now we're getting warmed up! :)

Meggan - I've been to Cocoa Beach. Fun times, for sure! :thumbsup2

JennyT2 - You really can't go wrong with either spot. Just depends on what you're looking for ... beach action or sightseeing. Cocoa Beach is also close to Kennedy Space Center if your kids might enjoy that, but Orlando has all sorts of fun spots you can hit. So many choices!! :confused3:

Rusafee1183 - Given that this will likely be a fairly full ship, you may want to consider booking some excursions earlier, esp. if you already have your eye on something. The OBC is burning a hole in my pocket too!! And, I agree with DreaMer2625. Boardwalk rocks, esp. at night when many places are not easily accessible (nor open) for night outings. How fun (and romantic) to be able to watch the EPCOT fireworks and stroll back to your homebase. Mmmm. :lovestruc

Great to see some activity here!!

Have a great weekend, everyone! :wave2:

All right. I've got a technical issue here. I added a counter thingy to my signature that should show a countdown to our cruise date, but (obviously) only the top part shows up. What am I doing wrong?? :(

So, this will be my first time doing the fish extender thing. Obviously, since we live in Germany, we'll be bringing little trinkets from here as gifts, but how many should I bring? Also, has anyone taken over as forum leader since the one we had isn't sailing anymore?

Meggan

Meggan - Unfortunately, our original leader has "jumped ship" :lmao: so we're orphans. :sad2: I think we're all waiting for someone to adopt us again.

As for FE's, generally, someone who's well-organized (i.e., un-me) will keep a running list of participants and set a cut-off date for FE participation so that folks will have enough time to make or purchase enough FE's. As for the total number, it will depend on who all signs up. I've known some cruises that have over 100 participants, and they simply divided them into 2 or more groups so that folks aren't lugging 200 FE gifts around. I think we had 70 or so on our last cruise. While that seems like a large number, it was awesome because pretty much every time you returned to your cabin, something groovy is waiting for you at your door. IMO, that was 1 of the best parts of being on a Disney cruise!!

As for the actual FE gifts themselves, I think it's up to you. Some uber creative folks have made some awesomely fancy crafts like personalized handbags or stitched personalized luggage tags for each cabin while others bought little items that represent their home town. Generally, what I saw was either 1 for each cabin or 1 item per cabin + 1 item for each child within the cabin. Most gifts were Disney-related with our cruise info somewhere on them, but that wasn't always the case. Hope that didn't totally confuse ya.

Have a great week, everyone! :hippie:

Hi all,

I'm sorry to say that we will be jumping ship too. :guilty: Due to a recent change in our personal situation, we have decided to go with a 5-nt Bahamas cruise on the Magic instead. I've certainly enjoyed "chatting" with you all and wish you a very happy and safe sailing. For those of you who are 1st timers, you will have a blast and to the veteran DCL sailers, I'm sure we'll see you again.

Best wishes to all!! And a very happy holiday!!! :wave2:

My name is Heather! Myself and husband Bob will be on this cruise. We are meeting up with friends that we met on our last cruise and sailing with them.

We will be decorating our door - but will not be participating in the FE, but I look forward to chatting with everyone and planning along with everybody. :goodvibes

I have been looking into excursions a lot lately. I can't decide what to do. :confused3 It seems like everything that I want to do is on Cozumel, so I need to research the other islands to see what we may want to do there.

IT'S ALMOST NEXT YEAR!!! we're that much closer to the cruise :goodvibes

My name is Jeannette (I also answer to various shortened versions) - I'll be cruising with my mom Carol and my younger sister Teresa.

We will also not be partaking in the fish extender :( but I'm glad that this cruise is getting it's game face on pirate:

Thanks so much for taking over for us! This is our first cruise! Our cabin is #8018 and there will be the four of us. Hubby (Nathan), me (Meggan), DD (Jaycee-4), and DS (Jett-2). I would love to participate in the FE! We're getting closer to cruise time!!!! :D

Hey everyone

We are still super excited about this Cruise :cool1:

I'm not sure about the FE yet, we would really love to join in but are travelling from the UK so luggage space might be a problem

I'm sure I'll be able to work something out though so I will let you know for certain before you cut off new participants

We are on deck 10

Linda67
2 Adults (Myself and DH)
Stateroom: 10656
FE: TBD

Let the planning begin

Hey all. Still chugging aong. Trying to make payments on this cruise, but the holidays got in the way a bit.

Has anyone been on the Dream at all? I am concerned about the rainforest room on the Dream and Fantasy. It was my FAVORITE place on the Magic - but I heard that it went downhill with their changes.

HI! all. DH (John) and I (Jackie) will also be joining you for this cruise. This will be our first cruise as Platinum CC members. We will be celebrating John's 61st birthday and Mother's Day. We'll be in cabin 8500 so hopefully we'll be surrounded by fellow DISers.

I am not planning much for this cruise yet. We have a 7-night Mexican Riviera cruise in 53 days (Feb 26) so that's my priority right now. We're taking my sister on her first cruise and what better way than a Disney cruise! :yay:

So, until later have fun planning and I'll check back with you later!

:lovestruc Jackie

Just requested to be added to your FB page. I'm registered there as Toby Barthel, my cat. As I follow everyone's planning I get More & more excited.
