May 12, 2011 dream cruise meet!!!

We are not renting a cabana but plan on visiting the sting rays and then doing some snorkeling at CC. We have the dolphin encounter planned for Nassau. This being our first cruise I couldn't pick which one so we are doing both.

We are getting so excited and it is getting harder not to spill it to the kiddo.

Anyone else have early dinner?

We have early dinner. We scheduled it that way when there was still a 5 PM show. DDs eyes shut automatically at 8 PM and we wanted her to be able to make it through both the show and dinner. We're hoping that the difference in time zones along with the excitement will keep her up later.

We have the opposite problem my 8 yo can stay up until the wee hours and sleep all day if you let her. She is not a morning person and I am hoping the excitement will help her get up in the mornings.

We have early dining too. With our 4 grandkids we thought they would do best eating early. They are spending the evening with us this evening and we are so anxious to spill the beans, but we will try really hard to keep the surprise!!! We are doing the sting ray excursion and then snorkeling at CC. We are so excited for our first visit to CC and our first Disney cruise. After 17 visits to WDW I can't believe we can finally do a Disney cruise!

Before she ditched us ;), Hawky7 mentioned linking our dinner reservations. What do you guys think? Does anyone know how to do this if so?

I don't know how to do this, but I'm game if someone can figure it out. Chances are we'd get seated with another family and at least this way that family wouldn't be "total" strangers.:goodvibes

I noticed your screen name. Who do you fly for? My dh flies, too.

We have late show, second seating dinner. Hope this works out. I really wanted early dinner.

To link reservations just call DCL and let them know who you want to link with. Usually you will need the other party's reservation number, and once linked, then you'll be seated together at dinner.

Cool! Thanks Chris/Rob...

If anyone would like to try and link dinner reservations, we have the early dinner. I can organize the res numbers and call DCL if anyone would like to link up the dinner reservations.

I can try and link the late dinners too, if DCL will allow me to.

I got my private with the intention of going commercial and making a living in the air, but my bank account and the economy had different plans. So I'm still stuck in the bug smashers.

Hey all you FE exchangers! I just sent out an updated FE list. Please make sure you check it and email me if there are any problems.

Just wondering if anyone has any thoughts on arrival. I've booked the Country Inn & Suites along with a shuttle but I've read that they dont start shuttling until 10:30. This is a very short cruise & we want every second on board... so that said wondering if I should change to a hotel only stay & drive our car to the port? I'm so excited just wish I'd booked more time on board!!!

I don't know what to tell you. I guess it all depends on if boarding numbers will be given by your assigned arrival time or by your actual arrival time. We have a 10:30 arrival time and plan on getting to the port at that time.

I loved staying at the CIS. We were lucky enough to get a room with a view of the port. It was so exciting to see the ships right from bed.

Jeff...We sent you a PM about linking dinner reservations. Let me know what you think.

We'll be at Country Inn & Suites, too. :yay:

Anybody else?

We will be coming directly from our rental house and hubby says we should be there close to 10:30.

We live in South Florida, but are driving up early the day prior and have a full day planned. We're going to the Space Center for 1/2 the day, then the Cocoa Beach pier and the Cocoa Beach Manatee Sanctuary Park. We'll probably have dinner at Fishlips and then have our 1 night at the Country Inn & Suites. After breakfast at the hotel, we are driving to the port and parking there. I told dh that is my splurge and I have been saving my pennies for it. :) After the cruise, I want to be able to hop in the car right away and drive home.

I'm getting excited now! :woohoo:

Just want to double check - what time does the port open? I thought it was 10:00 but I don't want to be waiting outside in the car so I was going to aim for 10:30.

This will be the first ever cruise for my daughter (6) and I. My daughter has autism, so I'm sure this will be quite an adventure for the two of us. Any tips or must-sees for a first timer??? Thanks.
~Susie~
