May 12, 2011 dream cruise meet!!!

I just have to ask. Is your name really Carla Rae? Mine is too except Karla with a K!!! If you decide to take this cruise we will have to meet. :thumbsup2

Yup I am a regular southern bell, born and raised in jersey!:lmao: my mom really like the name.

On a side note, we booked yesterday, room 100xx (gotta look up the exact number, but I know it is 100 something.) It will just be dh and I in that huge room, but it is all they had left.

So excited!

Oh and I am in for FE. I will pm the host in the next day or two. :thumbsup2

Thanks for the welcome Nikki! :goodvibes Are you the person to PM about the FE's? I love this - I enjoy making crafts and goodie bags up, I am a little concerned about the price though. My boyfriend and I are scraping by to make this cruise and vaca work - if 50 people sign up, do we get something for all 50 people, it sounds like it could get expensive or be a lot of work?:confused3 I would like to participate though, as long as it seems doable.

I've been reading the cruise reviews and the ship looks gorgeous! I can't wait to sit in the glass bottom hot tub with a Bahama Mama in hand, who's with me?! :goodvibes

Hey ya'll!!

We just booked the Dream 05/12/11 cruise! We are late to the party as the summer looks pretty booked up, but we are really happy with May 12. It will be myself and dh sailing. Can't wait! Woo Hoo! :cool1:

Awesome and welcome aboard. Did you find there was much space left on this cruise?

Not much left AT ALL! We were lucky to get in.

Plus, forget the website. We only got in by calling DCL to book it. In fact, we called once and were told this date wasn't available. We couldn't make a quick decision with the dates/categories that were available and had to talk about it. But we called back within 5 minutes and the 2nd CM told us this date was available. :woohoo:

Just booked this date, after having a Dream-y cruise on 2/3. Couldn't wait to do it again! We booked a dummy cruise in Dec on board, but just got it switched to 5/12 by DU. We had perfect weather on the 2/3 cruise. We were in 8572, but this time on deck 5. I'm the original Golden Ducky, hoping to do the 'Duck at night. Last time we had the 7PM shows and late dining, so we never got to the 'Duck after dark. But this time we have booked 5PM shows and late dining, so we may do the 'Duck as an appetizer! :donald:

FWRR3: so great to hear that you loved the Dream cruise enough to re-book so soon. I'm going to be a "nearly" golden ducky, and I sure hope to ride that duck at night also. Any hints from your cruise?

KarlaG4Kids, I don't have any big secrets, but I'd advise to try room service, we enjoyed the salmon and the steak sandwich. I liked getting up before dawn and going up to see the sunrise, and don't miss the sunsets if you can help it. The Navigator's list the times. Go to the bow area on deck 13. It's a nice area and not many people go there. If you stay up late, like 1AM, you'll have the ship to yourself. A great time to take photos with no people in them. And we loved outside on deck 4, great for walking and lounging in the shade, or a run. If you follow my tips, you'll come up short on sleep, like we did. We had to nap most of the day after our cuise ended (only 1.5 hour drive home). Don't believe the Captain when he says,"We'll be docking at PC at 6AM." I got up at 5:30AM because I wanted to see us come in and we were already there! Oh, and we really enjoyed getting to know CM's. They were really friendly and had intersting stories. :goodvibes

Great tips....although I will admit I probably won't be staying up too late!!! The ship motions make me sleepy!

This is going to be a great trip! Remember to sign up for the FE Exchange! So far we have 6 families signed up.

I called DCL yesterday with a couple of questions and the CM said the cruise is totally sold out. We are 9A GTY and are waiting for our cabin #.

I'm back! And I paid off the cruise, so we're going!!!!!!:banana::banana: WOOHOOOOO!!!! Yes I'll participate in FE if it's still up to participate in!!! So excited!!! Are we doing a meet? Have we decided time or anything yet?? Is anyone else going to WDW before/after the cruise? We have decided to do a Disney USA tour for our 10 yr anniversary which is May 14th...We'll start at Disneyland for 2 days, head to WDW for 4 then the cruise. I am STOKED! :cool1::cool1::cool1:

Yeah! I hope this thread starts to get more active now that it is getting closer.

We are paid off, too. But we are GTY, cat 9A, front forward cabins so it will be killing me until we get our room assigned.

I hope there is a meet. That would be fun.

We are not going to WDW pre or post cruise. We live in South Florida and a couple of weeks later we are going to WDW for Memorial Day holiday. But, we are driving up the day before and staying in Cocoa Beach. That reminds, me I haven't made the hotel ressies yet so I better get on that. Anyone staying in Cocoa Beach before the cruise? What hotel?

Let's enjoy this time. The planning is half the fun and once the cruise gets here, it will fly by.

Have ya'll seen Timon's thread? LOADS of pics and a fantastic video of the Dream:

We have our cruise paid in full also and I got online to book a couple of shore excursions. I was up at 5am to book them Sat am! Crazy, I know! We will be in WDW 5 days pre cruise. The adults had a planning session Saturday while my DH (grandpa) took the kids out for pizza and ice cream so they wouldn't overhear and figure out their surprise trip! It's so much fun planning!

I'm glad you were able to get the time off Rebekah! :yay: Now that we've reached the "point of no return" (some call it the paid in full date), it's becoming real, we're going on our first cruise!

We booked some excursions Friday night and everything is falling into place. Can't wait to meet everyone. I haven't read anything about a meet yet, but I know the FE is still open until the end of March.

Wow, 5am...I'm not really good at getting up early sometimes, so we stayed up late and booked ours Thursday night, or was it Friday night???

Anyway, it'll be neat meeting all you guys, heck, we might even pass you in the parks before the cruise...:thumbsup2

Yes lets def do a meet. I can set it up. I'll have to figure out where on the new ship. On the Wonder, we always did it on the "secret deck 7" but I'm not sure they'll have one on board the dream.

We will be coming directly from WDW that morning, but last time we stayed at Radisson. Pretty good room, had a nice Caribbean feel which I liked as it got me into the mood for the cruise and the Bahamas. They also have free parking as long as you are staying there at least one night. (No need to get the Parking Included Package which they hike up the price, as all rooms include it) :)

We should arrange a meet up at WDW for anyone who is going pre-cruise. I think we might do the Wishes Dessert Package, a ton of the people from our last cruise did it, and they all loved it! Just an idea. And my 5 am!!! You are dedicated!!! I can't get up that early!

YAY!!!! Me too! I actually switched jobs, so it makes it easier... although they don't know I need that time off yet! :lmao::lmao: Oh well, it's paid, I'm going!

So on my last cruise, we all linked our dining reservations together. Early together and late dinners together. Then we got to know eachother. Pretty cool, and we all keep in touch now. Is this something anyone would be interested in?

Do we have a master list of who is signed up for FE and who all is going to be on the cruise yet?

I'm so excited!!! It's going to be here sooo soon!!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

Sorry to say guys, but we have canceled our ressie for this cruise. We have switched to a 7 night Caribbean . Please take me off the FE list.

Hope you guys have a great cruise! :yay:

Darn, I was hoping to meet another Carla Rae. Have a great trip though. Are you still on DIsney or going with another cruise line?

I'm SO EXCITED. I just opened my e-mail to find a PIN code from DIsney Destinations for free dining on our WDW part of our trip. It will save the 10 of us about $600!!! It is even better than the kids stay and play free discount. I've got an e-mail off to our DU agent to get us switched to the free dining. YIPPEE!!! I really love the free dining!
