Happy Belated Birthday to both Eric and Chris, hope you both had good days.

Debbie, sounds like you might be busy out there, with the flooding they are talking about on the news. Hope you are surviving OK.

Eric, we expect pictures when your landscaping is done! We keep adding trees to our property (there are not many trees here in the high plains). There is a nursery who is selling plants and trees at good prices at our Farmers Market, so every Saturday, we go and bring home something.

Lynn:eeyore:

Well actually, the flooding that is all over the news is about an hours drive from here. We actually had ALOT of flooding on August 7. Flash floods.... 4 inches of rain in less than 3 hours. The rain that happened this week gave us a scare on the river that normally floods, but we have been without rain for most of the summer, it took alot to fill in the river and the canals.

Now we have heat and humidity to add to the high rivers.:sad2:

Oh and tell Scott that I read that article on the other thread.... the Ohio reference is about 15 minutes from my house. I thought about him when it came out.... and I was right :)

Deb

Hello all,
All of our comapny has left now so I have a bit of time to catch up on the DIS.

Ken--way to go on the fundraising:thumbsup2

Susie--Good luck on the Adventures by Disney job. You would be great at it.

Kelly--I wish I could meet you guys for lunch at DL. But, I do ge tto see Erik and Jason at WDW in two weeks so I guess I do get a pretty good deal as well.

Debbie--I am so glad the flooding is not at your place this time. I hope you stay dry enough from here on out.

Lori--It sounds like Jessica had a grea trip. How wonderful.

Scott and Lynn--Trees in Cheyenne--what a novel idea:rotfl: I bet the ylook good.

David seems have to decided he needs to fight growing older by purchasing a motorcycle. His new (as of today) toy is the major focus of excitement here tonight.:rotfl:

Cheers to all.

Ok First Off, unless David has been riding all his life and even then he should take a Motocycle Safety Foundation Class, they are good and informative, will help keep him safe.

So what did he get????

Trees in WY are tough, exspecially here in Cheyenne, the wind blows the leafs off, really.

Hope you all in the Midwest are staying dry, we had a great storm last night lightening that did not stop for a couple of hours, hail and rain also added. It was really KEWL.

Yep Debbie, that was our office, we located the guiy right here during a class. He was a good get. Hope you aren't too busy with all the water there in the Mid West.

Hey Scott. Thanks for the concern about Dave. He actaully has been riding in some form most of his life (I think he got his first dirt bike when he was 9 and he rode on the back of his father's before that). He raced enduros in High School and college and had a street bike in college. He did take a safety class back when he got that street bike (not that he rode all that safely at that age--one reason I never rode on it with him;) ). But, it wouldn't be a bad idea for him to take a refresher. Funny about safety, in this "Live Free AND Die" State (okay the actaul motto is "Live Free or Die, but . . .) we have neither helmet laws nor seat belt laws (yep, only state in the union with no seat belt law). More than once people were stunned and laughed at Dave for bringing his helmet with him to test a bike. Weird place. I don't neceisarily think there should be a law, but have some respect for someone smart enough to wear a helmet please! Even as a rash teen he NEVER went anywhere without the helmet.

He didn't get anything fancy--he just wants to ride to work and back and will always prefer a more sporty style to the real street bikes and is not after great speed. It is a bike from the eighties. A Faser?! It was only made for a couple of years. I can't even remember who makes it (pathetic I know--but I did let him take me for a ride last night so I am trying to be supportive). I'll find out tonight and post it.

Hi guys, Gotta get out and walk this morning while it is cool - getting ready for the 5K. Sure would help if I wasn't sunburned from my visit to Kathy's house! :rotfl2:

Debbie, I was thinking about you this morning while they broadcast from Ohio on GMA.

Eric, You didn't mention your thoughts on HSM2!!!!!!

Happy birthday boys!

Anyone heard how the return repo is going?

Good News about Dave, Just seen too many mid life things go arye, I am also a full time Helmet guy, We need new batteries and tires on our motor bikes.

Keep Training the 5 K is just around the corner and the 1/2, wish we had signed up for thre 5K the course looks like fun. I did 3 miles this morning, shooting for a 10 Mile run on Sat morning.

Kelly-- on HSM2. Our neighbors were supposed to record it for us (we no longer get TV reception--so far we are liking that with the one exception of no HSM 2). The kids knew they could not watch it until Nana left and have not asked about it since we dropped her off yesterday. I am dreading telling them the nieghbors forgot and I cannot find anyone else who recorded it. Was it anywhere near as good as the first?

Scott--No not realy such a mid life crisis thing as all that. He's been looknig at bikes on and off since we moved here. But thanks for the concern (still wigs me out, just because of all the idiot drivers out there--you can only do so much to protect yourself and bikes just protect less than cars any way you look at it. The bike is a Yamaha Fazer (my brain finally kicked in a bit) thought I don't know the year beyond mid 80s.

Kelly is right...I did not share my High School Musical 2 views.....how silly of me!! ;)

Well on Friday for the premier we had an early birthday party for me with a small group of friends here in Rochester---complete with HSM soundtrack, HSM plates, cups, napkins, and an HSM Happy Birthday banner. We had a delicious BBQ dinner at 6pm and played HSM Uno (which was generously given to me in our fish extender aboard the ship by some special DIS friends!!:thumbsup2 ) and chatted until about 8pm when I demanded complete silence (except, of course, during the commercial breaks :lmao: ) so as not to distract from the premier of HSM2.

So my thoughts??....It was delightful, of course. I have to confess that I like the storyline and message of the original HSM film much better....but HSM2 was still fun.....and I definitely think that the singing and dancing numbers were far superior to the first film. I absolutely adored all the big dance numbers and I recognized a number of really creative throwbacks to musical theater classics. I laughed a lot....I didn't really cry at all...but I was definitely moving and shaking with the show.

I already bought the soundtrack and I'll, of course, buy the DVD when it's out!

On a related note, my birthday gift from my cheerleading squad was a HSM boardgame with a DVD that is very much like the game "Scene It" so you answer trivia about clips on the DVD and stuff. I'm thinking if DCL ever creates a HSM version of "Who Wants to Be A Mouseketeer" then this is going to be great practice.....Rio and I will be unstoppable in our little Ryan hats up on stage! MUWAHAHAHAHAHAHA:rotfl: :rotfl: :stir:

HOLY HEAVENS!!!!:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Nobody taped HSM2 for Rio and Marika?!?! BLASPHEMY!!!!!!:headache:

Well you can tell them that they shall HAVE a copy when I see them at WDW in September!! If you can't get a copy before then, Hadley, let me know. I have a friend who I believe can burn it to a DVD for you...or i could make a VHS myself!!

:grouphug: :grouphug: Oh Erik you are FANTASTIC (have I ever told you that?). If I couldn't find it here (I still have two people I am trying to track down) I was hoping you had recorded it (figured surely you would). If you could bring them a copy to WDW that would be PERFECT. I am glad to hear it is still good. Yes, it would be hard to beat the message in the first one but if there are really good song and dance numbers there then bring it on (and on, and on . . .). I am assuming Disney will get the DVD out in time for Christmas gifts. And you and Rio on a HSM trivia team???:lmao: Can you say unstoppable? About the Ryan hats: Rio was so excited to see a character in a popular movie wearing them. He found them about 4 years ago at The Children's Place and fell in love and we have had to buy them in as many colors as we can every spring when they are out since (we even have two winter ones now that came out last year--brown corduroy and black velvet). Bewteen the hats and the overbearing sister (though MUCH nicer than Sharpe, I think) and the jazz squares Rio really identifies with Ryan;)

In the meantime, we finally bought our own copy of Grease last week. We have actaully had several conversations about hte different message in that versus HSM (at the end of Grease Sandy and Danny are still trying to be who someone else wants them to be--the someone has just changed. They are only really themselvse on the beach at the begining). One of the "special features" is the sing along option which runs all of the song and dance numbers while streaming the lyrics underneath. Wow am I hearing those songs over and over (they're good though). I had nevr really caught all of the lyrics of Grease Lightening:scared1: So NOT kid appropriate. YIKES.

15 days until we get to WDW and Erik and Jason:woohoo:

I'm sure it was the DVD I saw at Costco on Friday, but it may have only been the CD. I'm questioning myself now. I almost bought it while we were there, but we were on a mission to find Spiderman 3 for PC. I knew I wasn't going to get to watch it Friday night with Jessica, because I had a Bridal shower to go to. Anyway, if you're out you might check.

Hey everyone...

I haven't posted in a long time, just figured I would catch up a bit. I have been reading everyones posts! Sounds like people are having a good summer all in all!

Just to bring everyone up to date here...

We had a great time in DL, Club 33 is amazing! We met up with a couple of our table mates and had a fabulous day in DCA!!

Stacey made my birthday dinner wonderful - fresh sevichi (I am sure I am spelling that wrong!). A shimp dish that is cooked with lime juice, not heat!

I have been working my tail off trying to pay for all the travel...We are leaving in under 2 weeks for WDW, we are there for about a week, home a week - then off to the Imperial Cities for a week, home for 2 weeks then back to WDW for Food & WIne and the DVC cruise...whew...I still haven't put my luggage away! I don't see any point! My cleaning lady is so frustrated by having to move it around all the time!!!

hmmm, what else - lets see -I am now working on a critical care transport truck as a nurse (huh - really - they pay me to sit around and do nothing!) I am so bored, but the money is pretty good so I don't complain a lot!

I finally got my boat (Gryl's Pride) back from the dealer...what a tail of horror that has been - now I can't seem to find the time to get her in the water... I am still awaiting the bow cushions (3 years and counting...I most likely will never see them) but at least the hull in sound as far as I can tell. I was so so so pi_ _ed at them for drilling through the hull....idiots.

Stacey had rejoined the corporate world - her stained glass business is doing ok, but not quite enough to pay for all the travel.

I am planning her birthday now - it is this Sunday!

I think that is about all...

Keep up the posts! I like to read what is going on with everyone!

Hey Padalyn! Glad to hear your trip was great.

I forgot that you were going to be at WDW the same time as we are and Hadley and her family. We have all our dinners all advance booked...but maybe we coudl all meet up for lunch one day? It would be nice to see you again and to meet Stacey (we all missed out on meeting her since she couldn't do the repo with us).

Also, I didnt know Stacey did stained glass....does she have a website or anything like that? Or sell through a store?

Hey guys, Padalyn you're exhausting me! Happy belated b'day to you too. As I recall from last year, mine is next on Avenue Q day in September.

Hadley, send me your address (PM) and I'll send you a copy of the HSM2. I have HSM 1&2 on one disk and then another with the sing along versions that they ran last week. But, I still have it on my TIVO with a DVD recorder. I love this thing - it costs less than a dollar to make DVD's. We are currently putting all of our old tapes on DVD.

We got the board game too, it has been lots of fun as well as the CD's. Zoe's new favorite thing is to do Sharpay's screams with her hand gestures. It's crackin us up.

Lori--Thanks for the Costco tip. We do not have those here (I do miss Costco) but I bet you saw teh CD which includes a DVD with some bonus materail on it. We saw that at Target and it is labeled a bit misleading and would be easy to mistake it for the DVD of the actual show.

Kelly--Thanks! Can you run us the sing along as well? I will send a PM shortly.

Cayla--I am seconding everything Erik said about meeting up for lunch perhaps and meeting Stacey, etc.

Okay all, I am disapeering again until Monday--time to take the Girl Scout troop camping. I am actualy excited for a REALXING weekend. this is at one of the GS camps and all of the staff is still there. As a leader all I am responsible for is getting hte girls there and back. All activites and food are provided and staffed. I can just relax in the tent or sign up for activites myself, etc. It will be a totally new expereince for me to not have to be in charge at GS camp and I am so looking forard to it.

We are going to be at the pin event all day on Fri, Sat, & Sun - I will give you my cell number - give me a call - we are at the Beach Club for this stay.

Yes, she does have a website - give me a day to find it and I will post it here.. she specializes in pride pieces, and commissioned pieces. She does keep some stock items around, especially around the holidays.

exhausting myself also! Today is day 6 of 6 in a row at work. I have 2 days off then my next day off is when I am at WDW on 9/4...that is 8 in a row...I usually don't do this to myself, but there was a schedule glitch and I signed up for extra shifts not realizing I had shifts scheduled...ouch!

Thank you both for the invite...I will tell Barbara and Stacey - we should just get together for a meet or something, since we are going to be pretty busy ourselves!

And thanks for the B'Day wishes!!

NOw lemme go find that website.....

Good Morning All,

Training Report for 082507 morning:

Lynn – 6 miles at a 15 min pace. (She can edit for exact #’s as she is in the shower)

Scott – 10.65 miles, time 2:13.02 min, pace 12:29, Calories 1722. Look out DL Here we come!!!

I scored a Nike + Ipod, a sensor attaches to your shoe, and keeps track of your work out, a very nice lady tells me my time, distance, and pace, when I press the button. $29 not bad and it works well, tested it against Lynn Garmin Forunner, yesterday and they were very very close, like .001 difference.

Looks to be a nice day here, hope you guys in the mid west get some heat and rain relief.

Off to the Farmers Mkt, there is a bakery that is on par with the best patisseries I have found in France and Epcot. I deserve a Ham and Cheese Croissant. Will fill the thermos with Tanzania coffee, time for a shower.

Ok - Scott and Lynn you two are my motivation. The alarm will be set for 6:30 so I can be at the track by 7. I need to run for 90 minutes and I can't stand the heat here in Orlando after 9 a.m. so I need to get up early. I am not an early person. I finish my job at Epcot around 10 or 11 so I don't hit the sack till after midnight. I know I need a good 7 hours sleep. My first race is Race for the Cure on Sept. 9 at Wide World, then the Epcot 10K Taste and finally the one you two will be here for the Tower of Terror - yea!!!!!! So I need to work hard.

Last Sunday I paid big bucks to spend the day with Jeff Galloway and 7 other runners to learn all the ends and outs. He is the running "guru" that believes in the run/walk method. He has convinced me I can get ready for the upcoming marathon in January. I learned a lot from him. The best advice he gave us - which shocked me is not to stretch before or after a run or race. He said I should just warm up by walking 5 or 10 minutes before my race. I bought his new book - Run till you are 100. So far I've learned a lot. The other thing he has me doing is to run only 3 days a week - one short run, one speed day, and one long run.
I am sure changing my schedule. I still swim and bike. Biking is my favorite and I do it 4 to 5 days a week. I usually ride 35 to 45 miles on Sunday but guess I'll be running on Sundays from now on as he told me I need to get in a lot of long runs. Yuck! I think I'll enjoy them more when it finally cools down here.

I'm enjoying all the postings on your upcoming Disneyland Race. I wish I was there to go to dinner with all of you. Hopefully in the next 2 years I can do that one. Now that they have this Magic 5 Medals going - I want them all. I have Donald and Minnie and hopefully will get Mickey this year. So then all I will need is Goofy and the Castle. I know there is talk of them adding a Pluto race so then it would be 6. Just another Disney marketing tool for us to buy an expensive frame to hang all these medals in and to do another race. The Pluto will probably be out at Disneyland so they can spread out the races.

Hope you enjoyed your pastry. I'll think of you next time I go by France. Enjoyed my visit with my brother in Loveland 2 weeks ago - boy that new mall, Centera, is gorgeous. Have you two checked it out.

Erik, I watched HSM2 just because of you. I have never seen #1. I did enjoy it. It reminded me a lot of Grease when I was a teenager. Would love to be that age again:rotfl2: :rotfl2: NOT REALLY!!!!

All of you coming to visit in the next few weeks. When you are at Epcot check out the guides with the red lasers wearing a blue "countries" shirt in the evenings. It might be me and we can have a Dis hug together. Have a great time while you are here. The new Canada 360 film opens today - don't miss it if you like Canada. The wand and Mickey's hand is completely gone. They are refurbishing/recarpeting Wonders to use for Food and Wine Festival.
Debbie, are you still coming in December? I made the Candlelight Choir so if you do the Candlelight Processional I might be there. I have tried for 3 years.
I was finally fast enough with my entry. The spots fill up in 90 seconds.

Maybe you all didn't catch Connie's posting about her new "dream job" but she got a heck of a "good job". She will be in the know about all the cruises and the cruise line.
Congrats Connie!!!

I check the web everyday to see if there are any postings from the "Bringing Home the Magic" group but there hasn't been much. I am so jealous of them.
Don't you know Deanna is having a ball. I hope her girls have as much fun as their Mother does. I loved the trip but I enjoyed the planning, anticipating, making gifts, games, and just getting excited with all of you just as much. I remember getting home at night and saying, "Wow! 40 new posts". I really enjoyed those times. Take care everyone!

Padalyn,

I'd love to see Stacey's website. Jason and I use colored glass vases and other colored glass objects to decorate in our home (not pride stuff, really, just pretty colored glass)....so i love stained glass and the such!

Also we're going to be just around the bend from you! Jason and I are in a studio at Boardwalk on this trip!! :)
