1 MORE WEEK!

 :cool1:  :cool1:

A week from now I will be on a plane on my way to WDW. And it can not come too soon.

Packing will be done this weekend. Work on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and then on our way!

As for the Mother's Day Card. Don't have to worry about that one :thumbsup2 I will just bring Mom with me :)

Did an update to the roster. 284 people! 104 cabins!

Can't wait to see you all!

Debbie

YEAH!

One week from today, right now, I will be putting in my final 5 hours at work and then zipping off to the airport to fly out to Orlando!

One week from last night, my parents will have arrived from Boise to take care of DD 15 and Sebastian (our 14 yr old Golden Retriever) while we are gone.

And one week from last night I will be frantically packing and throwing things into bags as my mother watches (and helps) wondering why I am not prepared. I will finally get all the scrapbooking stuff of the tables, countertops, etc., and my home will be somewhat back to normal before I leave!

DON'T SPEED!

in case any of you missed it our nice basket lady Shirley started a thread about how they are cracking down on speeders on the highway to port canaveral (i.e. they need more doughnut and coffee $$$ :rotfl2: ) she said they are giving tickets for 0-5 miles per hour over too!!!!!!!! we plan on cruising at 1 mile below speed limit to avoid any problems...

also don't forget money for tolls!

Note to self: Leave 20 minutes earlier from hotel on Saturday a.m. Don't want ticket right before we leave the U.S.:hippie:

Wow, I take my last business trip across to Asia and when I get on line it has taken me 6 hours to catch up! Now I have forgotten all the thoughts I had. I am really jealous of all of you that are starting your vacation already. I do not get home until late Tuesday night and will battle jet lag for two days at least! Some of my thoughts -

Hadley and clan - sorry about the bunny. Not much I can say that hasn't been said already. The cruise should be just the tonic!

Eric - with the amount of flying I do please make sure you do everything to get your ears clear! Antibiotics, nasal spray and pain killers if required. Remember that most problems occur on descent so take a sudafed about 1 hour before you descend!

Connie - I noticed your offer to drive by the store on Friday night. Is their any way you could squeeze one more person in the car? DW is really in a panic about getting to a store before the cruise. We had thought about taking a taxi back and forth just so that she can have some peace of mind.

I saw someone mention taking a case of wine - does any one know what the wine list is like on board and do they offer any kind of wine with dinner programs?
Regards to all from Hong Kong!
Greg

One more week for us, and a lot yet to do, Mon-Wed will be hectic getting work in order. I hope to get a jump on it over the weekend.

Dinner tonight with Ken and Shari, Will be great to see them.

Re: Chocolate Museum, The gentleman in class has not been, so sorry no news there.

School is starting....

Greg yes there is a wine program, seems like a good deal if you have several bottles.

Greg--We did the wine pacage two crusies back and really enjoyed it. There are two packages you can choose from (or skip the package adn just order from the list every night). Each package allows you one bottle of wine form a preset list for each night of the cruise (assuming they will offer it for the longer cruise--guessing price will be double what it is on the 7 night). The only difference in the packacges (otehr than price) is which wines you ge tto choose from. The packages were about $180 and $275 on our cruise last Spetember.

It is very flexible. You can have two bottles of wine on one night and then none some other day. Leave an unfinished bottle to be brought back out at another meal, take an unfinished bottle back to the room with you to sip that evening, have it in Palos, etc.

I recently noticed that there are quite a few people who don't have stateroom numbers listed on Debbie's fabulous list. If this is you, you may wish to add this info now or do so once on board using the hall monitor boards where people will, among other things, be noting any stateroom # changes.

I checked with Debbie, who has this same concern-- hence this post! If you don't provide your stateroom #, you'll miss out on surprises that others may be planning! In other words, if your stateroom # is not on the list (whether now or once on board) no one can drop stuff off at your stateroom. Mine, btw, has a ribbon and thus can be left in a fish extender or tied to a door handle, but not if I don't know where you are.

Happy travels!

I second this - please take a minute to visit Debbie's cruise list and check your listing. It's located here:

http://www.wideopenwest.com/~epcotkilterfan/

Then contact her with any corrections asap. You don't want to miss anything because your room number was wrong or not listed.

I had only planned on putting suprises in the available fish extenders. It would make me crazy to find 104 rooms! I will be on vacation afterall!

Anneliese got her braces yesterday, and they look like something I've never seen before. There is so much metal and plastic in her mouth she can barely close her mouth and she can't speak. It's the appliance on the bottom, which attaches to the top with these shock-absorber things that make it so overwhelming. And she doesn't even have the head--not neck-- gear yet! That comes this summer.

I took her all the way to her classroom, so I got to see the kids reactions--looks of horror and fear from the other 4th graders. Luckily, she is smart and confident. She says she is focusing on the end results. She also pointed out that she looks like Willy Wonka when he had his braces.

I'll try to figure out how to get her picture on here. You just won't believe it.

Hi Everyone

With people starting to leave for our great vacation adventure, I thought I would remind everyone about how you can get your lanyards and name badges.

1. I will be at the Hyatt on May 11th. I plan to be in the lobby from 9:00pm to 9:30pm for anyone staying there on the night before the cruise. So stop by and pickup your lanyards if you are staying at the Hyatt on May 11th.

2. I will probably be at the port at about 11:00am. I will find a spot and have the lanyards available once I get checked in. It shouldn't be to hard to find me. I will be the guy with the open suitcase giving out lanyards. I will be available in the terminal right up to when they call my number.

3. I will have the lanyards and name badges with me at the 3:00pm dismeet on deck 10, starboard, above the goofy pool. I will be there from 3:00 until about 3:45 or so. Stop by and meet the people you've been typing to for so long.

4. If we don't connect at one of these locations, it is now up to you to find me. We are in room 6547, so you can call and setup a time and location to connect. I WILL NOT be leaving the lanyards and name badges at your door.

Hope this all makes sense.
Ken

Makes Sense to me Ken, see you at the port!! I will be easy to recognize I will be the guy int he Taking the Magic to the Med shirt :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

For those leaving now, I do really hate you, only becuase you are starting before me ;) Have a safe trip and see you on board. Don't worry the rest of us will keep the thread going until at least Thursday, if I have time to read it with the way next week is looking that is.

See you at the port on Saturday!!

Cheers!!

Pat

Just think - you might even get you name badges at LAX. Talk about starting your cruise early.

we are planning on using the metro! i printed out a copy of the metro map online to plan our day and circled which stops to get off at for the attractions we plan to see....there is another website i have been looking at that lists exactly which line to take and where to get off..let me see if i can find the link....barcelona tours

Thanks. I have found that site too. I just wondered if anyone had found additional spots, or routes for comparison. Or what the closest Metro to the cruise terminal is. I now think is the Drassanes station on the Green Line. That one is near the statue of Columbus, and I've found reference to a shuttle bus that runs between the statue and the various slips in the cruise port.

One of the places we are attempting to visit is Park Guell. That site said the entrance was a 20 minute walk from the Lesseps station on the Green Line. However, I did a bit more investigating, and found that people would also recommend taking it one more stop to the Vallcarca station. But you still have a long steep walk. Or the easiest way is to take Bus 24 from the Placa de Catalunya, which drops you right outside the entrance.

Both of our friends with Barcelona experience reccomended taking a taxi to Parque Guell because it is a steep and hot walk up from the metro station. We will do as they sugest and take a taxi there and the metro home. Otherwise by the time we get there I will have an over heated crabby 8 year old and won't be able to enjoy it!

Oh how fun! It is not as exciting as being at WDW this week but I will take it!

Okay, help me out with this because I just don't know, how do you know who has a fish extender without going to all 104 rooms - I would LOVE to know. I know my dad and MIL won't, but I thought for the kids I would just put it in the actual fish. Hope everyone has a fantastic trip and I had no luck with the tablets - sorry! I hate letting people down. One week from today, we will be LANDING in Orlando!!! By the way, that family and child at DL and go the cruise is VERY LUCKY!

I'm pretty sure the thought is that you just walk up and down the hallways and whenever you come across a fish extender you stick something in it. Somewhat easier then carrying around a list and figuring out which rooms are DISboarders I guess.
