Don't forget to send your Mother's Day cards before leaving.

Great thing about Mum coming on the boat don't need to remember this one. I still think its a cheeck she gets 2 mothers days this year because the UK one was in March!

when we were on the Wonder in Oct they had the new clocks out. They changed the linens, the toiletries and a few other things as well. I think the Magic was updated before the Wonder was. I could be wrong of course...

Well, we loved the new sheets. I haven't seen the new products yet and probably won't care much one way or the other. The clock is a small detail so I really don't mind. It just seems they have been busy.

Just saw via All Ears that WDW/DVC resorts will be no smoking, to include balconies, wonder how and if this will affect DCL?

Also, re parking, etc, as we drive to Denver now to fly most places, we have found a few hotels that offer free parking if you spend a night at their property.

You can also park at the old (Stapleton) airport and leave the car there for free and then take the RTD bus to DIA. My in-laws always do this and think it is great (there is 24 hour security and it is lit so they feel very safe leaving their car there). It is $3 each way per person for people over 65 and $6 each way for really young people. You do need to allow about 25-30 minutes for the ride itself (Skyride shuttles run about every 15 minutes from 3:30 am until 12:30 am). If you want to call RTD and ask about it the numebr is (303)299-6000.

Hey Susie, what are the chances that Curt will be coming at this point? Any luck?
He has decided not to try it. There are too many things going on here right now. His father had a heart attack a couple of weeks ago and had bypass surgery last week. He went home yesterday, but Curt is spending a lot of time with him.

Next, Melinda (his daughter) looks like she is going to deliver early. She has been 2 cm dilated for over a week. Curt took her to the doctor today, so maybe I'll know more when he gets home. They are short a vehicle since an accident last month (imagine airbags going off on an 8 month pregnant woman, but she and baby were alright). Anyway, so Curt is trying to be on call for her also.

Then he has a possibility of a couple of consulting jobs coming through during that time and doesn't want to miss out on them. That alone might not have kept him from going. But combined with the other two things, I think he wants to stay home and take care of family right now.

Padalyn, I just called GC and they don't have a service from LB only LAX, but she recommened Super Shuttle $33 PP 1-800-200-6655.

Wow, crossed off so much on my list of todo's that I'm actually condensing to a smaller list!!:cool1:

Just before I read this, I had placed it on top of the stack of things to do before I leave.

I went to the bookstore today to see if there were any good maps. The only city maps they had for Spain were of Barcelona and seemed pretty bulky. Then I checked their book section and came across Fodor's "Barcelona's 25 Best". The book itself is pretty compact and seems like a good reference with map coordinates and metro information. Best of all, it has a pocket with a removable map in the back. The map includes metro information also and is very compact, so I purchased it. It was $11.95 at Barnes and Noble.

I just received an email from the taxi company in Gibraltar. I had emailed them about group rates. Here is their response:

"Thank you for your e-mail of the 26th ult. the group price we would be able to charge for a transfer from the Cruise Ship to the Cable Car would be £2.50 per person based on a minimum of 6."

I think the cable cars hold 8 each. So we might want to start forming up groups.

If we are taking a limo to the port and we arrive a few minutes before 10 do we have to wait outside the gates or can we be dropped off at the drop off area?

Thanks for the info! I'll look for it this weekend. Taking the kids and their Christmas/Birthday gift cards to Barnes & Noble and Borders. The trick will be to keep them from reading all their new books before we actually leave for the cruise:rotfl2: .

Susie, sounds like you have a lot going on! Glad Curt's family is ok. I'm sorry Curt won't make it, but we can hang out together now and I won't feel like a fifth wheel.:rotfl2:

Does anyone know where the closest WalMart/Target is to the Hyatt at teh Orlando airport. We fly in at 6:50pm on the 11th. I want to rent a car for the night and buy things that i do not think I can fit in my luggage, LIKE 80 DIAPERS! My DH thinks everything will fit :lmao: This is coming from a Marine who has spent 29 months in Iraq. He can live off of anything, me on the other hand I am more of the princess: and so are our girls.

I found a rental with tax for $26 for the night. :thumbsup2 My DH concearn is that we get in late that we have to get the girls settled, get them dinner and then find a way to get to a store to buy the stuff.

Then I brought up the whole alcohol thing. I said there is no way that we can bring it from CA. We would have to buy it in FL. He is now considering the idea. :rotfl: My husband is the most easy going guy out there but I do want to get all of the facts first. Ido not want to plan on renting a car and not packing things if we will not make it in time for the stores to even be open.

THANKS!

I will be happy to pick you up and take you to the Walmart or anywhere you need to go. I live near the Airport, and it would be so easy for me. If the kids are tired, and need to rest after dinner, your husband could stay and let them rest up, and I could take you..

Really, it would be no problem for me at all. Connie

We really need a new camera. Has anyone worked with a Nikon D50? :confused3 I dont know much about it except the photo quality is suppose to be amazing. Is it user friendly? Does anyone have a digital camera they would suggest we look at?

thanks!;)

This response is a bit late but the D50 is a rather old design more than 2 years old...

If you are settled on Nikon the D40X is maybe a better bet. My favorite Digital Camera review site is

So cool. Weird question but I'm curious could you have brought them or did they just randomly have them in the store?

No, they weren't available for purchase. She brought them out of the back office to show us, but not for sale.

Hi All!

I'd like to lead a little, family oriented Bible Study. Let me know if you are interested.

I was thinking: "Bringing God on Vacation." It would be just a little devotional time on the first sea day, at 11am. I'm not sure where. In all honesty I was thinking by the pool. Suggestions for location would be appreciated. popcorn::

Lori :yay:

No propeller clock?!?:sad2: I always liked that clock. Man they have sure changed A LOT of things in the past 8 months. Gee whiz.

There is or was a surplus warehouse in Orlando that specialized in Disneyania. The one time I went there they had boxes and boxes of the propeller clocks... $4.99. I was thinking at the time that Disney must have changed the rooms.

Check out Mousesurplus.com. They usually have some DCL stuff there.
