we were planning on going to playa jardin on the other side of the island and wanted to see the martinez pools....will all this be closed in sunday???

also...is the temp going to be really cold? some of y'all mentioned weather keeping you from the beaches....

roserae - We are planning on doing the fountains after dinner or the next night since we are staying extra. We do not speak Spanish but if it is like the other countries in Europe, then they will speak English or at least some and be able to understand the main words. So if you tell them where you want to go they will take you and lots of times for a price will pick you up at a certain time or even stay with you. Some of our best memories are taxi rides in different countries!

In the past there has also been a meet at Coco the day before, so that could work for those folks, The WDW thingie works for those foks at WDW that may have evening plans etc. that is what has happened in the past.

Rick it sounds like a great place, and hey we are from WY and "Dick" was kinda a neighbor, when we were in Jackson, so the trap shooting sounds fun.


I forget our excursions other that the Walking tour in Gibralter.

Finally a day without a whole lot of wind here in Cheyenne, gotta get the dogs for a nice long walk and plan where to build the barn.

Have fun today, This one (vacation) is sneaking up on me. It si getting closer.

Did I read in past posts that you had taken the DVC Safari trip? My DH and I are looking at doing that in 2008. We would love to visit with you about your trip!

Yes we have done it twice and want to go again in 2009. We will talk your ear off with ease.

My family would LOVE to do this, but we would be so much more comfortable going with a group. We don't speak Spanish, have a 5 year old, and are a bit intimidated roaming around an unknown foreign city after dark! Is someone already organizing a trip to this location? Any suggestions on how to do this?

We'd really like to see the fountains too.

Here are the average high/low temps (in F) for May at our Europpean ports:
Tenerife: 74/62
Cadiz: 71/60
Gibraltar: 71/60
Barcelona: 68/54

Happy Sunday to you all. Scott, I'm glad you have a break in the wind. How well do I remember those in Wyoming!

So here are our port plans. We tend to be ruggerd individualists (or cheapskates, or anti-social crowd haters--take your pick) and nearly always do our own things in port rather than excurions as will be the case this trip:

Castaway Cay: We have an appointment to sit around and do nothing!!!! My favourite days are just playing on this beach, sipping cokes and eating fruit. What a way to spend Mother's Day!!!!

Tenerife: We plan to take the local bus system (LOVE local busses--really feel like you see the culture that way) to Guimar to see the PYRAMIDS (will be cool to compare to those at Kohunlich we saw in September). Return to the Magic for Siesta, snacks, change of clothes and spend late afternoon sunning on the black sand of PLAYA JARDIN after catching another bus (or shopping in Santa Cruz if it is not beach weather).

Cadiz: We'll be walking the city!! The kids will be hauling their sketch books I am sure. Planning on visiting the CATEDRAL NUEVO, MUSEO de CADIZ and La TORRE TAVIRA.

Gibraltar: More walking! We plan on heading to the botanical gardens and cathcing the cable car up to the top of the ROCK. We'll explore ST MICAHAEL"S CAVE and the APE DEN. I must also find some good British FISH N CHIPS at a local pub.

Barcelona: We have extra days here so we are still working on what we want to do. PICASSO MUSEUM, SAGRADA FAMILIA (Friday evening) and the GAUDI PARK are must sees for us.

Hey, where is everybody? out shopping on a Saturday afternoon? I am stuck at home because the orthopedist said I cannot bear weight on my left knee for another 5 weeks!

I gotta get ready for dancing on the cruise! So I'll be good for now!

I spent all day Saturday trying to get VISTA to work on my new computer...Dell so kindly gave me a free "upgrade" (I think it is a downgrade as of now... )

I hope to get that machine up and running soon - in the meantime I am posting from work and the ole XP machine (that does work!)

Kelly (milestogo) has mentioned it.....and if she decides to organize something I think Jason and I would go for sure...because it does sound fun and based solely on the amount of time she's spent educating herself about the ports and what there is to do and where to go....I believe if she organized it she could get us there!!!

Wow....I hope THOSE numbers are right....I could deal with all those temps!! Because those are not the numbers on the DCL website for all hte ports.

If you go to each of the pages for the ports of call on the DCL site it lists the highs and lows for each month and it says for May for example that: Gibraltar will be between 45 and 59 degrees cold and that Cadiz might get down to 55!

I like Hadley's numbers MUCH better because as far as I'm concerned, weather under 65 doesn't even count as vacation!!!

I got those temps. from the Passporter. I am pretty sure they are right and Disney is confused. I lived in Spain for a while as a teen and those temps. are in line with what I recall as correct for the time of year. Today it is 71 in Cadiz and 68 on Tenerife!

We have our air though Disney (which we never have done before). My question is....is anyone flying back to Pittsburgh from Barcelona and got their air though Disney? I was wondering who the flight is though so it can give me some idea of our flight times...ect. My guess is US AIR. Thanks in advance!

I think which version of VISTA has a lot to do with ones' happiness!!

I have the home pro - most of my troubles are self inflicted actually...I mistakenly thought I could move my USB internal hub over - wrong socket set...and a hard drive...wrong cable type...so, the trouble isn't actually VISTA - it was operator stupidity!!

I built my ACER machine about 12 years ago - upgraded motherboard and many other things - but it is still outdated. When I bought the new machine it was actually to save myself having to low level format the existing hard drives (4 of 'em) and reloading all the stuff back onto it. I like XP Pro, but I am just having more and more slowdowns and system hanging up than is worth fixing - only to have to upgrade in a year anyway.

As long as my medical software works, I am not unhappy - just frustrated trying to move 60gig of documents and music and photos over to the new machine via the network

Hi all, we went to DL today and it was HOT and extremely crowded. The US National cheerleading competition was taking place with thousands of cheerleaders and their families It was so crowded at 9am that we it took us an hour to get through Star Tours (normally 5-10 min.) Today was the big day that Zoe was tall enought to get on ST, so we were committed to waiting. She loved it!!! I studied at the George Lucas wing of the USC film school and am in love with all things Star Wars. That ride is an example the way all movies should be experienced (from the filmmaker's perspective) From (DH) Jonathan's pov it only makes him have motion sickness. I was so glad that she loved it. Then we headed straight out of the park and went to CAdv. which was the most crowded I'd ever seen it in my life. Got into Monster's in 10 min. and Bear in the big blue house, but everything was so crowded that I had a frustrated 3 3/4 year old. We did, however, walk up at the right time to see the High School Musical Pep Rally twice. All I could think about were you HSM fans - I was laughing to myself. The final event of the day was Soaring over CA which she just loved! Big Day here. But really couldn't wait to get out of there.

Hey Gydell, do you remember the details from Sweetsue on the 11 night about the fountains? I'll do a little research this week.

I don't think anyone here can help you yet. We haven't received our flight info for DCL. I've heard 30 days out and 45 days out as the time that we actually receive the info. You may want to check back in a few weeks.
