HAPPY PRESIDENTS DAY
test2.gif

Hope that everyone had an enjoyable weekend.

Weather here was great today. Upper 40's and sun!:cool1:
Was a good day for the pup's first trip to the park.

She learned what a harness and a leash was.

With the weather getting nicer, spring can't be far away.
Then soon after it will be time for the 14 day eastbound repo.
Getting excited.

Welcome back Lynn and Scott.:yay:
Looking forward to Tanzania stories.
No, no Spike. Belle was love at first sight and experience has been that females are easier to housebreak. (so far, so good)

Welcome Back Scott and Lynn, We've been thinking about you guys, dying to hear about your adventure. Thanks for the update on DLP, although I'm not sure about all the abbreviations - is it just me?:confused3

OK Eric, You can borrow one of your dad's Hawaiian shirts. Or you can go with the Southern California business look (I'm only half kidding) which is an upscale Hawaiian /Caribbean print. They are very understated, so much so that you can wear them to many jobs in CA. They are usually found in stores like Tommy Bahama, Islands, Gary's island shops etc. Even Disneyland put out a line of upscale tiki shirts that were so understated that you couldn't even tell that Mickey is standing next a tiki statue. Jonathan wears them to many lectures. I must have 12 Hawaiian style camp shirts in all kinds of designs. On the other hand most people wear the very loud colorful shirts for this evening event. It's lots of fun with steel drum music and of course, the characters are dressed for every special event. Zoe and I have several Hawaiian dresses that we wear with shells type jewelry (also very popular here!)

Good banner HowTo, Linda. Erik, are you going to take over the banner duty or have Linda do it again?

thanks for the menu list, Cayla. I'll bet we get some fun customized menus on this trip.

re: the games: we are also bringing some games, Disney Bingo and Disney Scene It. Thought maybe we could play scene it to get ready for the How to be a mousketeer game that I intend to win this trip!!!!!!!!::MickeyMo :earboy2: :mickeyjum Maybe while we're waiting at the port?

Here's our updated list of B2Bers:

This is scheduled for early 2008
but the new cars and nemo coaster should open in june

They can be strict about this and send you away if you are late

I did forget about Cars and Nemo, Thanks. Just got a peak over the fence as we rode the Aladin Carpets.

Did not see any opening date for TOT, just looked like some good progress was being made. On the outside that is.

On our last full day in Paris we took the RER into the Arc de Triumph, (please do excuse my spelling). From there walked to the Eiffel Tower and then along the Seine to the Louvre and Notre Dame, then took the RER back to DLP. The scam of the day was for a person to appear to find a gold ring near you on the ground, i.e. while you would be taking a picture. They would ask if it were your and try to insist you keep it. Saw this several times; just be aware of these types of con artists and scams along the Seine.

Anyway at Notre Dame, whilst I was taking photos, standing right next to me was a young American Couple. I over heard them say, “Maybe we can find someone here who speaks English to take our picture”. I could not resist, and said nothing. They did find someone to take their picture.

here is a link to an rer and metro plan map

the A and the B lines are the RER and the rest is the metro.

Please share what was in your med packet? We are doing the 14 day bak to Fla and am trying to figure out what I need.

Welcome!!

We are spending a day or so at DLP immediately following the cruise. Looking to take EasyJet also. The husband of a friend of mine fiies in Europe often and recommeded them. It is the Southwest of Europe.

Debbie

Thanks for the reassurance. Ill probably be booking with them to get to Paris. Was only 109 dollars for both of us.

JW2736: Welcome! I have done a ton of research on going from Barcelona to Paris as we are doing the same thing. There are several Air France flights around 12:30-1:00, book the round trip (its a false return) It is the best deal at around $150-170. In Europe kids get a child rate, so be careful booking yourself online. The train was too long and had transfers, with the luggage we though air was a better choice. There are flights through Madrid that are one way, but they are a 4 hour trip verses the r/t that is 2 hours! Have you decided where you are staying?

We plan on staying in Paris for 3 or 4 days after the cruise, then I have 3nights reserved at the DL hotel at DLP. We will most likely travel back to Paris after DLP, then get a flight home from there. I found Easyjet that would be cheap for getting to Paris from Barcelona, then Condor airlines to get back home in Orlando. We havent found a hotel in Paris Yet.

Quiet day today - everyone must be celebrating Mardi Gras with Bob!

Have a great day everyone!

Ken

I'm certainly willing to work on a banner if nobody else wants the task this year. I can look in an art store here to check out paper.....although fabric might, as I said, be just as cheap and easier for me to pack and bring (I could fold it up and put it into one of the vaccum seal luggage bags so it takes up no space).

If I make it, though, then I'd want to get some general consensus from the group on what it should say and if we want any kind of logo or images on it or anything.

(seaulater----out of curiosity do you remember how long the banner was last year....it looks HUGE......???)

Oh, only about

40 FEET LONG

You are right....it was HUGE!

Alright....well so much for that whole "$5 worth of fabric" idea! :lmao:

So this year we should go for 41 feet? Make it bigger and bigger every repo cruise so that eventually our banners overtake the ship!

So how do it stay up? Did DCL let you attach it to the bannister? Or were you all holding it up during the party? And do I remember reading correctly that after the sail-away party you hung it on the outer bannister of deck 10 facing OUT? How did you hang it there so that it survived the weather? And again...DCL allowed that?

There was a whole line of DISr's holding onto the banner on the banister. Same thing when it was on the outside. That was a bit more of a challenge. Not sure how long they held it on the outside because we were very late in leaving port.

does anybody want to get together to play BUNKO on our days at sea? I can bring the dice! Let me know! :disrocks:

Well, I have finally caught up on the board since our trip to the far side of the world, don't think Scott has had much of a chance, he worked 14 hours yesterday. Milestogo/Kelly, our favorite Disney characters are:Scott-Mickey, me-Eeyore. We did manage to get the shore excursions we wanted the other day, it was our first order of business when we got back. In Tenerife we are doing the 8:30am Mercedes Forest and Taganana tour, in Cadiz the Cadiz City Walking Tour at 9:15am, in Gibraltar the 2:00pm Gibraltar Walking Tour (I guess the morning tour was filled, it was not offered as an option), and at Barcelona the Gaudi and Barcelona tour at 8:45am. I am still working thru all the pictures of our trip. It was a great trip, in spite of being stranded for 2 days because of rain. I am sure Scott will post a couple of pictures when I get done sorting them out.
