I have been laughing about this all night that I was sooooooo wrong about it. Now I have to go see these guys when we're there. And I'm proud to announce that I've finally committed to buying our tickets to Florida. Got Delta for $119 pp. When I first priced them back in April they were $169, so I was excited about the difference. And I've finally decided to go to Paris (but not DLP) for a night or two after leaving the ship. I've been looking for returns from CDG - LAX but I'm looking for the cheap tickets - also, any recommendations for a hotel?

Yep, it's me - I'm all about food! :rotfl:

Debbie, Never in a million years would I have figured that out - off kilter stage! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
I had it in my head that you must be renting a pin trading station somewhere and had this really cool hobby going on. OK, not exactly the hobby I had pictured and yet it looks equally fun. That is so very, very funny - I couldn't have been more off (kilter!) Are you an official groupie? :cheer2: or a cheerleader? Or considering auditioning? :lmao: Are they different folks dancing each time or have you gotten to know some of the performers?
Now you have opened a can of Worms!!! ;)

but to sum it up the anwser is Yes :teeth: :lmao: :rotfl2:

Hey! I resemble that remark ;) :rotfl2: I consider myself a fan :) :cheer2: You will find me there before the cruise on Thursday May 10. This way I can get my fix :) They do not play on Friday or Saturdays, so I make sure I come in early so I can see them.

Come and join us!!

A Blizzard is happening here. Wind has been averaging about 30 MPH since yesterday morning. Worked closed at 3:00 yesterday and it was a real trip driving. Supposed to have about 10” plus of snow, glad I did not sell the snow blower. Transmission was acting up on it last night so I got that all fixed a ready for when it is time to dig out. Several of the highways are closed. Was ordered not to show up at the office until 10:00 AM and call before we leaving the house.

So I get to enjoy the morning here at home with Lynn and the pups. KEWL!!!! Might just have to have some real oatmeal. Irish steel cut oats, good stuff.

Lynn is still busy unpacking the house and doing a great job. We still can’t figure out how there is no room for stuff moving to a larger house. It’s a storage thing.

Hope you all are ready for the season, I still have some stuff to do and then there is Walmart for the day after stuff. New House needs new lights, just not sure how to decorate given the wind here.

Enjoy the day, your loved ones, your furry loved ones, and I for one am thankful for getting to meet all you great people.

Peter thanks for the link.

Hi Scott,

Check out this link to 2 pictures of my Christmas lights. We just won our neighborhood's 3rd annual competition for the 3rd time. We're going out as three-peat winners. I expect they'll retire our house number after we move to California in the spring. These pictures appeared in the Daily Press newspaper. We are currently photos #2 and #3 shot 20 December by photographer Kenneth Silver. Those numbers will change when more photos are added to the sight. I call it "Kathy's Opus of Light". It sounds like we all have a lot in common. Ted and I are huge parrot heads and I assume that you and Linda are too judging from the quote to one of my favorite Buffett songs in your signature. We look forward to meeting you all.

Kathy

As you may have read in my recent post, DCL has now reduced the price for children sailing on the repo in cats 4-12 to $99+ tax. We are currently paying $1700 more per child in the cat 3. I was going to downgrade to a cat 6 to save the money but my TA suggested that I remove the kids from our reservation and add them to someone else's reservation. In order to do this that other party would need to be in a room that could fit our two kids even though my kids would be physically located with us in our suite. For example if you have a stateroom that only holds 3 and there are already 2 of you in there you can't add 2 kids to your reservation. Also the other party would need to be scheduled for the same dining time (for us that is early dining with an APL rotation request) but we wouldn't have to sit together. Also we'd need to check in together at Port Canaveral. We will be concierge guests so the other party could check in with us and hopefully board early with us. There is absolutely no cost involved to the other party. We would pay in full for my two children immediately. I also checked this out with DCL directly and it is fine with them. My children's cruise documents will even be mailed directly to us. I don't know why DCL is making us jump through hoops like this instead of simply discounting the children on my current suite reservation and saving us all the additional effort to achieve the same end result. If you booked through DVC using points you can't help us out as DVC is not offering this special child pricing. Also 2 separate parties of 3 booked in staterooms that can hold 4 people could each add on one of my children to their reservation. This is truly a trip of a lifetime for our family and my husband does not want to give up the suite. However I can't justify paying an additional $3400 for the children. If any of you fit the bill of "the other party" and would you be willing to help us out please pm me. Thanks!

We're taking the kids to Great Wolf Lodge in Williamsburg tomorrow. We return on Saturday to a house full of company. Have a Merry Christmas everyone!

Kathy KEWL Pics, thanks for sharing.... I am waiting for teh day after Christmas to stock up fro the new house.

Hi Kathy, We would gladly do it, but we are booked through DVC and are not upgrading till we get to the port. If you don't get a taker and we can help you at the port we'd be happy to do it. But DH just added in that you would have had to pay in full 90 days prior to that, so I think we wouldn't be able to help at that point. Sorry, but if you come up with another plan we'd be happy to help you out.

Great pics of your house! Scott, I believe that the boxes of stuff swell in the moving truck because we've had the same problem when moving to a bigger house! We're watching your weather on every news broadcast out here. BBBUURRRR

Kathy - there are only 3 in our cabin and we have early seating so if you need to add one just let us know.

OK, I just got off the phone with DVC and they are NOT allowing the discount! Here's the stinker, we paid cash for DD and it is a $1200 difference (points for us.) DVC is a contracted company with DCL so the sale doesn't apply to them. So, we are trying to figure out the best way to do this too. So, after Kathy's kids are placed if anyone else is interested in the same scenario we could use some help too. Kathy, can we cancel our kids then add them on again at the lower rate? I think you may be able to do that, but we can't unless we go cash rate for the cruise??????? and use our points somewhere else. UGH! I wish the money didn't make a difference, but it does.

Great suggestion from your TA Kathy. I hope everyone gets the whole "kid shuffle" thing worked out. It really is quite a deal. For fun, I priced out myself and the 3 kids - still much cheaper than me, DH and DD3. :scratchin Now if we didn't have that pesky state testing/school thing - Drats!

Kathy the pictures of your house are wonderful. Love the palm trees!

Scott and others in the storm path. Take care and stay warm. :sunny:

CACruisin, Can you request any special testing dates? What do other kids do if they are sick that week? Man, I can't believe the rate is that different for you - it's worth the consideration to go.

Anybody know when we will get information on the plans on the ship, like pirates night? Or times for the excursions?

I am still deciding between some of the excursions and just noticed that some of the ones I was looking at are just offered for the westbound. What a bummer! Also in Cadiz they have changed all excursions to 8 years and above. I sure hope this is a mistake!

If a kid is sick, then they make up the tests. But make up tests are given in one big lump - two straight days of nonstop testing vs. a few tests every day for two weeks. It is really hard on the kids to stay focused for that long. DD11's test scores this year determine her honors placement for middle school next year too. Don't know how DD12's middle school testing works (haven't done that one yet!) I do know missing two weeks of school would be tough even for my straight A kid. DD12 insisted on going to school one day last month with 102 fever "because they told us we can't miss school no matter what!" :confused3 . And then everyone wonders why we end up with a school full of sick kids ...
