RE OKW, We used to request the Old Turtle Pond area. Then we started to just go for pot luck in location. Have yet to be disappointed. DVC Members since 1991 so have been all over OKW. We really enjoy our DVC for sure.

Thanks, Scott. I've heard the Old Turtle Pond area is nice, but your right about just taking what you get and I'm sure we will learn and love it. We're thinking that with a 3 year old we want to be smart and plan ahead, but there probably isn't a bad place in the whole place.

Scott, I see you are going on the Sept. cruise. We were very curious about that time of year... have you cruised then? We wondered about the storm season?

Does anyone know about the weddings on the ship?

Does anyone know what a Dole Whip is? Is the items they serve at the Tiki Room - the Dole Whip Float? I heard they were great on another thread, but I'm not sure what it is and is it available at DL?
Yes it is available at DL and it is served just outside the Tiki Room. I get one at least every visit. The line can get a bit long, especially on the outside. I ususally go into the Tiki Room queue area and order from that side.

I just asked several of my friends (locals) and none of them have had one either. Apparently, it is one of those things that everyone in the free world knows about and the locals don't buy because we bring our own drinks and usually food inside DL. I will go have one one Wednesday this week! We are trying to cram in as many trips as possible before the kids get out of school and everyone comes from all over the world. We try to go for a few hours in the morning and then back to work - love email, nobody knows I'm not slaving away at my desk, but sneaking away to DL for a few hours. Although we've had so much nasty weather lately... today it is raining - in May!!!! :furious: Mad Sun! We've had many years when we don't see a drop of rain from Feb. till Dec. This had been the weirdest weather year for us!

Speaking of weather, according to Weather.com today's weather in Cadiz, Spain is:

70 degrees under fair skies with winds out of the WNW at 17 mph. Humidity 49% and visibility 6.2 miles. Tonight's low will be 57 degrees under partly cloudy skies.

Sounds lovely and oddly enough we have almost exactly the same forecast for Minneapolis today.

Just think... next May 22nd we'll all be in Cadiz! :Pinkbounc

Thanks, Peter. I'm very curious as a new DVC member about the various locations. We are waiting for our new number to start booking for next year. I've been wondering about the weather in the beginning of May, I understand it is less humid and rainy. What is the weather like at CC when we will be there next year?

Let me say, last May when we headed to the PC and our first stop was CC, it was the most beautiful day I had ever seen at CC. It wasn't windy at all, the water temp was just perfect. A great way to start a 2 week cruise. I can't wait to be there in May again.

P.S. We own at OKW also. Love it. When Jamie (DD) was younger, the only request we ever made was to be on the ground floor so when we hauled her in late at night we didn't have to carry her up the flights of stairs since she was always asleep before getting back!

After watching the very sweet film of Rosie's family cruise, it made me wonder about weddings on the Magic/Wonder. Anybody know anything about them? Do they do them?

Hey all,

I"m catching up again after a few days away from the dis-boards....so if someone else already chimed in on this....sorry....but ironically one of the delightful couples on our most recent trip aboard the Wonder was a young engaged couple who were riding the boat because they were intending to have a DCL wedding later this fall (I think in September actually if I recall correctly). According to them the captain of the ship was going to marry them right at Castaway Cay....so it must be possible to do :)

Have sailed in October, still during "The Season". was not a prob, did return to Ft Lauderdale, and DCL provided busses to WDW and MCO. It was the DVC member cruise. Actually the Sept Cruise is going pretty far south so we should, (last great words) be out of the zone. Yet one never knows.

Hello all. Just catching up after being away for a few days to Yosemite to see the waterfalls.

Linda & Debbie, welcome back. What wonderful trips you both had!

Peter, thanks for the link on the crossing. I read another review from a crossing last month that sounded very decent weather wise.

Scott, let's pass on the waves over the bow thing, kay? I'm looking for smooth sailing .... actually DH would probably like a rougher sailing, but I get queasy even thinking about it! I don'teven want to see the new Posiedon movie.

Milestogo, LOL about the Dole Whip. We would always get a Dole Whip at DL before we moved to SoCal. Now that we are down here, we almost never do!

This time a year from now we will be on the other side of the pond! :cool1:

wow, that sounds great. I'm moving to MN.

Uh huh, let's see if you say that come January! Right now it's just those perfect couple of weeks between Winter and Mosquito Season. :sad2:

According to Weather.com today's weather in Gibraltar is:

79 degrees under fair skies with winds out of the W at 15 mph. Humidity 21% and visibility 6.2 miles. Tonight's low will be 63 degrees under clear skies.

Hi George

I haven't been able to get the original graphic from TDC Nala - it's stored on a broken computer. I'd like to try to duplicate the design, but I need a picture of the Magic like the one on the T-shirt design.

I'm still hoping that TDC Nala will be able to get the original from the hard drive.

CACruisin', Was your trip wonderful and beautiful? Have you heard of the fire fall up there? Something that happened in the old days.

I think DH would love to see the waves on the bow, but he gets a little queasy too. DD and I are good with the rough water thank goodness!

I too have been avoiding the Posiedon type movies. I'm not sure why they made it again anyway? remakes all over the place.... :rotfl:

Has anyone seen the new movie Over the Hedge?

PrincessTToo: I'm beginning to remember a trip I made to MN during the winter while I was touring with Jesus Christ Superstar we flew into the twin cities during a snow storm, it was so cold.... really good mall though!

Bonzie1: I was wondering where you were, glad to hear your mom is doing better... good luck next week.

Dole Whip day tomorrow morning!

We've been on CC when there have been weddings performed, so I know it's possible. That would be a blast!

I want an invite!

Our weekend in Yosemite was spectacular except for the 8 hour drive on each end. :sad2: The falls and the rivers were roaring. :woohoo: The kids were impressed and we got in some really neat hikes on Saturday. It started to rain midmorning on Sunday, so we did some of the indoor museum stuff before heading out to Bridalveil Falls and out of the park.

Haven't seen Over the Hedge yet. DD12 saw RV and thought it was funny. Hoot was good too, but both are probably too old for your DD2.

Isn't it great the sun finally came out? :sunny: Have a great time at DL tomorrow and enjoy your Dole Whip!

I've finally got some of our Hong Kong pictures posted. If you would like to see them, PM me with your email address and I will send you an invite to go take a look.

Have a great day everyone!

Linda

According to Weather.com today's weather in Barcelona is:

66 degrees under mostly cloudy skies with winds out of the S at 7 mph. Humidity 64% and visibility 6.2 miles. Tonight's low will be 60 degrees under clear skies.

If anyone calls me the "Weather Girl" then I'll start singing "It's Raining Men"! And that won't be pleasant, believe me. :rolleyes1
