So question for the ladies of our group...has anyone ventured into the stores swimsuit shopping yet? I keep putting it off since my reflection only shows me my current 48 year old body instead of the 22 year old version I feel like/remember. I wish they would fix :wizard: the mirrors!:rotfl:QUOTE]

:rotfl: That is exactly how I feel.

Ok - How many of you are wearing your cruise t-shirt on the 12th? My dd will kill me if we are the only ones and she has the same shirt on that I do!

We are! All five of us. :thumbsup2

PRHAT?

That would be KEWL. :cool1:

:lmao:

Since I had pretty much decided to do Gibraltar on my own (or with others doing it on their own), I decided I better do some research. What looked best to me was taking the Cable Car up to the top of the rock and walking back down. On the way down I would want to visit St. Michael's Cave, the Barbary Apes and the Great Seige Tunnels.

Does anyone else have that itinerary in mind also?

Disney does have a shore excursion that would allow me to do this ("Explore the Rock on Your Own"). They charge about double what I think the cost would be though. My biggest concern would be getting to the cable car location which they describe as a 10 minute ride. That might be a bit far to walk, so if we do it on our own that might translate into a taxi ride.

We are planning on doing this on our own, but I can't remember what DH and I desided on. I tell you, it all leaks out! ;)

Hi y'all! My girls and I will be on the Magic when it sails 5/12 and we are so excited!!! We would love to bus it to the pyramids with a group in Tenerife and possibly cable car it to the top of the Rock and walk back to town. We are Mom49, DD15, DD17, DD19 and we are traveling with DSL??, DN18, DN20, DNiece14

Welcome! :cool1:

OK, what is the situation with internet access onboard? Is it worth taking a laptop for internet work? Or not?

Thanks,

I'm thinking I bruised my esophagus and inflamed my tonsils???? I know we have several medical folks on this thread, so I thought I'd ask. It's my left tonsil and about 4 inches down the center/left side of my chest. Hope I'm not grossing anyone out, but between all of our moms (who serve all kinds of problems) and our med folks I thought someone may have some insight. Thanks.

You poor baby! that sounds quite unusual. DO NOT TaLK FOR 3 WEEKS! NO SCREAMING,NO YELLING, DRINK LOTS OF LIQUIDS.

On the banner...did you ever get an answer for the paint? I know they sell the paint we need at a party supply near my house. It's a dry paint and we add water to it, making it the color we need. It's what banners at schools and such are made out of. :thumbsup2 However, I don't know how water proof it is...and since it will be ON the ship...any ideas? Or did that get answered somewhere and I missed it?!?!? :confused3 I get so lost sometimes!! :rolleyes1

I met Richard at JoAnn's Fabrics today. The choice of fabric is down to some white very stron stuff he has already had for some house repairs which acrylic paint goes on just fine, or some bright almost neon yellow plastic table cover which is $4 a yard but we have a 40% off coupon to buy it with. We are thinking of the acrylic paint they sell at JoAnn's and Michaels that is weatherproof....a BRIGHT BLUE! It would look good on either the white material or the yellow.......

Oh, Yeah! Bring your foam brushes!

This is EXACTLY what I planned to do in Gibraltar! We can go together! Just so I get to see the APES! :bounce:

That's what we were hoping to do too.

Hi everyone! I've been enjoying reading the thread.

We just booked this cruise for ourselves and DS (8). I'm a little nervous and keep switching rooms after looking on the deck plans. Does anyone know if there's much noise from doors slamming across the hall and/or noise transfer between rooms next door? I'm wondering if we should go with an elevator lobby room instead. Any advice from previous cruisers?

WOW!! Got chatty there all of a sudden. I've been able to keep up until today, took a while ... phew!:scared:

Looks like a good time will be had by all at the picnic and the banner seems to be taking shape nicely. Great job!! :thumbsup2

Still no magnets - need to get with the TA on that.

The news on the door decorations took the wind out of my sails so to speak...but as I did find some magnetic paper at walmart this weekend, I think I'll give it a try anyway and see what happens. :confused3

I did find the back-up gift bag for the fish extender if my elaborate idea doesn't work... seems what I've done so far needs a bite more glue...so it's good to have the back-up on hand just in case.;)

We're still working on pirate outfits...not sure yet - maybe this weekend we'll get that worked out.pirate:

I have started setting items aside for packing and did get some items I know we'll need before we go.

I need a hair cut, but if I get it cut now I'll need one onboard - so I'm trying to tough it out for another week or two...which means more hair product to keep it under control for now...it'll be nice and short for the cruise though. :scared1:

So here's my question for all you Cynthia's.....Do you go by Cindy or Cyndi?
My sister is a Cynthia - she goes by Cyndi..."because that's how it's spelled"...which I can't argue with because when I shorten my name I spell it Nich. Since there's no 'k' in Nicholas....guess that runs in the family. Anyway most other Cynthia's that I know go by Cindy...how about you?

We'll be wearing ours.

Banner--Sounds like it will be great. Thanks Florida DISsers for making it.

T-SHirts--Not T-shirt people; didn't buy any. Please don't DISown us. Dave will have a grass skirt at sail away--hoping that is good enough.

New Ones--Welcome to all.

Ginat Fish Extender Thingie (Erik)--We bought a package of magentic hooks on clearance a few weeks ago simply because we figured there may be a reason to want a hook on the door and they were cheap. If your extender will not fit on your fish, come get a magnetic hook from us. Do not put ANY adhesive (even if it promises not to remove paint) on the door. PUH-LEES do not incur the wrath of the DCL door gods.

Deal......If our fish extender won't fit we'll hunt you down at dinner for a magnetic hook! :)

Welcome Aboard!

I can't really advise you on a room, but I can advise you to go back and read the first post on page 143 of this thread for some general info about how to get on the cruise list and lanyard list.

Don't worry about the whole T-shirt thing. No one is going to "DISown" you.

Ken

Are you going to go for it Debbie or is Hadley lurking around waiting to snag it?
