May 12, 2007 -- Taking the Magic to the Mediterranean -- 14 day Repo Cruise! Part 2

POC3 will premier on Friday May 25th on the Magic - just told by DCL!

Now it is just a question of when!!! Midnight on the Dumbotron or in the Walt Disney Theater or the Buena Vista Theater or ALL OF THE ABOVE!!!

I was afraid of that. I was hoping they would decide to show it a day earlier, while we were at sea. Instead now we have to figure out how to see an almost 3 hour movie, tour Barcelona, pack and then maybe sleep somewhere in there.

That's what the flight home is for!!! :rotfl:

For those asking about DVC points and whether or not they have been reduced. I just looked at the chart and it appears that the points for the first 2 adults in the room are the same has they have always been. But the points for the third person in the room are only 22 for the May 12 repo. The points for the return repo in Aug are 180 for the third person in a room.

Oh my!! I was literally JUST going to post and ask if all this price cutting and rebooking was screwing up people's reservations....and maybe it is!!

I'm sure that there hasn't been any kind of dramatic price cut for us in a Category 4.....but I was curious nonetheless....but after the drama of the last fiasco we're not going to bother with any kind of room changes or anything unless it's a dramatic price drop.

Although I will say that the more I see about the cost of all your trips the more I think we're nuts!!! :rolleyes1 Based on what I'm seeing from some of your dollar figures we're spending three times as much or more for TWO people than some of you are spending for a family of four...AAAAHHHH!!! Thank heavens we planned ahead and actually have the money for this trip and we can afford it....but it's clear that the price differential between the category 4 rooms and the "lower" categories is pretty steep!! We better get a really nice room!!! hehehe:rolleyes: :rotfl:

(I'm just teasing, though, we have no qualms about the cost of this trip....and we recognize this is our big trip for this decade...we won't take another trip of this level for a long time to come!)

:tigger:

:hippie: Me too... cat 4 no one at dcl has offered me a credit... guess we'er paying for the food for this trip.:dance3:

Yeah that does kinda stink...because if it's not a late movie.....then that means no magic fountain in Barcelona that night because it will conflict time-wise.:sad2:

p.s. Jason and I aren't personally, but there is a relatively large LDS population in our area up here in Rochester, NY because we're not far (20 minutes) from Palmyra which is very important in the cultural history because it is where Joseph Smith's home and Hill Cumorah are located. The Hill Cumorah Pageant is actually a very big deal all over this part of the state and draws huge crowds from all over the country every summer.

Good Evening All.
Finally got our air reservations.....

just curious....does anyone else have a 10:00 am flight out of Barcelona?
Glad this is Disney's doing and they will make it work out. (fingers crossed)

:lmao: Yes tinker and I have the 10:00am to jfk from barcelona.

I had a room booked there when we were originally on this cruise. But then when we decided to rent a car to get to the wine and cheese party, we dropped the reservation. I want to find somewhere where they don't charge so much to park the car for the night.

At least I have still been following the thread (I was on from day one), so I feel like I know everyone.

:yay: If your staying on Disney property just go to tmp and catch the bus to okw.

Count me in on that diet.

Is anyone renting a car at the airport and droping it at the Port? Which car company does this?

E=eller;17893919]You could stay on site at Disney, use the Magical Express to get to the hotel, Disney trasportation to get to the wine and cheese, then rent a car to get to the port. We might even have room for you depending on what car we rent. We've been trying to find the best way/cheapest way home and I haven't booked Disney or the rental car yet.

Reseaching London hotels right now. Found at $50 ticket (each) to get us from Barcelona to London on the 26th and a flight from London to Vancouver BC (we live in Seattle) for something not horrible. Still waiting to book.

We will be staying at Disney.

:woohoo: we are flying into seattle in august for our alaskan cruise. anything we should do or see before the cruise.:sad2:

Does anyone have a count of how many kids are sailing with us and the rooms?

Plus, do any of the kids have allergies or diabetic?

I was going to stop at Target after Easter and load up on goodies for the kids. Maybe make treat bags for each child.

Does anyone have an offense if any candy or items are Easter or "spring" related. Basically bunnies and eggs, etc...
I will try and get non-Easter items, but the candy is going to be so cheap, I don't want to pass up a good bargin!

If anyone is putting together a list of "gifts for kids", let me know!
Thanks!

hi,

Great idea! I'd like to help with the gift bags! Have you got a headcount yet? Were you thinking of only those who are on the dishboards or all of the children on the ship? just let me know what i can do to help.... but please remember i am a tax advisor, so these next two weeks will be really, really busy for me. bettie  taxtracker@aol.com

Yes, but we get back to Orlando at 8:20 PM ish, so I have to be able to go to sleep immediately, because I want to spend Sunday riding E:E and seeing the Flower & Garden stuff. I have to make sure I, and DH and my Dad (someone has to sign us in  ) have enough energy left to do that.

I think we will end up crashing on the international flight (which is probably good, nine hour flight!), but once we hit the states, NO SLEEPING ALLOWED until we make it back to my parents house.

When did your mom do this. I have tried over and over with no luck. We have one dinner res at Palos. We would really like to do a brunch. I guess I'll keep trying.

I called DCL this morning to see about the newest discount. We saved another $400 and got to keep my cabin! I can now book another shore excursion.:thumbsup2 Thank you DCL!!

Thank you :flower3: to all of you for sharing all your pricing information. I didn't call yesterday, I really didn't want to loose my cat 9 rooms. But after reading everyone posts yesterday, I decided to try it.
