OK, now I'm trying to book excursions. I've got the wine tour in Tenerife and the Cadiz and Jerez tour in Cadiz. Both are relatively inexpensive and short. I'm going to try to change the Cadiz tour to the horses once I'm on the ship. I hope that they will at least have a waiting list for it.

Does anyone know what the cancellation policy is for excursions?

Also, I was looking at Gibralter and mainly I want to see the apes. How many are doing Gibralter on their own?

were doing gibraltar on our own, here's my research so far:

GIBRALTAR

The "Rock Tour" vans were right on the pier. We did not need to go into town. The tour was a fixed price regardless of which van you took. They accepted Euros, (30 euros)

The highlight of the tour is going up the rock to a place where there is an interesting cave and apes all over the place. Some are very friendly and come close enough to get great photos. We brought a banana from the ship and enjoyed watching an ape "steal" it.

P.S. bring a towel, monkeys smell like pooh. (not the bear):)

You can cancel your excursions 2 days prior to the vacation start date. So, in my book, that would be May 10, or you will be charged for them even if you decide to cancel once on board. (However, I guess it depends on who you deal with at the Shore Excursion Desk, because they have been known to credit the excursion you want to cancel, to another new booked excursion, but they don't have to.)

Jennifer, Tee Hee, just let me know when ya cruise with carnival.

Lynn said we got the DCL surprise today…

Peter haven’t checked yet on DVC points.

Ken, Thanks for checking those points, That is what I thought…

KEWL to near about POC 3……

We use Avis for car rental and pick up at MCO and drop at the Port, they have a shuttle.
A subcompact is too small for the luggage.

School night and a test coming up later kids, see ya all in the morning.

Received our "surprise" in the mail today too, in Las Vegas. I don't know why they're sending them at different times. Must be all the meetings with IC about everybody's price reductions--they start stuffing the envelopes, then say, "Hold up everyone, we have to slash prices again!"

As for the discussion about the reservations--for the people who were worried about booking Palo, yes please do listen to the postings you've already seen here from seaulater and AuntyBrat. They are absolutely right, you will have no problem getting more reservations if you follow their instructions.

And Hadley--you've never had the brunch at Palo? Oh my gosh, it's like nothing I've ever seen before. I LOVE it!! Make sure you get a reservation if you don't already have one, otherwise we'll squeeze your family into our booth! Of course, we won't all be able to fit by the end of the meal. :lmao:

Erik--excellent posting about the quality and the integrity of upholding the standards and image of DCL. I also have no worries whatsoever.

Everyone--As always, thanks for all your informative postings and amusing anecdotes. :cool2: Have a good Tuesday all!
Chris

I'm going to try to get a Palo reservation once on board. I usually prefer Pirate's night for Palo because I really don't care for their Pirate menu. Anyway since I'm solo, I beleive that someone else can join me. Anyone interested? Even though I prefer late seating, I will probably try for an early reservation so as not to interfere with the Pirate's party and also so I might possibly be hungry enough to sample the Pirate buffet later.

Chris--We plan on being at the port early and I will try for brunch ressies. I'm not overly worried about it aurely there will be some left--it is a long cruise. Then again, I keep feelign DCL has something against me :confused3 David has never been fond of brunches so we have always stuck to dinner and tea (love their scones) but I have decided I am dragging him along anyway. Maybe I'll just leave him behind and tag along with you;)

Scott-a subcompact works okay for us. We've done it before and are awfully good at making things fit (I drive a Ford Focus so we get tons of practice at this:rolleyes1 ). But, we may get an upgrade anyway on the rental car as David gets coupons for those often (he uses Avis for work stuff).

Scott Again--I am havign a very ditsy few days. I asked a few weeks ago for the lat. and long. of our midpoint to give to the planetarium. I wrote it down and promptly lost it! So, I can spend the next few hours sifting through the posts trying to find it, OR I can ask you for it again. I am lazy and going with option B. Thanks in advacne for the anwer:thumbsup2

Jen--I echo your Carnival sentiments exactly. Would not go for free! Ever.:scared:

Games--we love them and are usually to be found at any DCL scheduled ones. :yay: We are always happy to welcome extra teammates. And we've been practicing for EUCHRE EUCHRE EUCHRE (those of you who don't know--we just can't explain it in writing, but it is pronounced like "you--ker").

Fish Extenders--Can someone measure theirs and tell me how wide it is??? I am trying to guess at the size of the fish, but I never really paid that much attention. Thanks

Since I have gone 24 hours without a new person here are some stats :rotfl2:

142 Adults
49 children

74 staterooms

WOW!

I was going to respond to a few things but as I would keep reading it would be answered!!

Time is counting down!!!

Debbie

Okay, I just want you to know that I walked away to workout, shower, have breakfast and get the kids on the bus and I came back to 3 pages!!!

How in the world is everybody supposed to keep up!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Lori
Please don't tell anyone that I kinda miss a few pages now and then, AND DON'T GO BACK TO LOOK FOR THEM!!! :scared:

We did the air thru Disney. So since it is a Disney reservation, they will make it work.

We fly into JFK and then on to Indy.

Bob and Lee,

:thumbsup2 We are on the same flight. Sat. may 26th at 10 am. Barcelona to JFK.

It will be good to have some fellow cruisers to share our joys and sorrows (having to leave the ship) with.

Good news about this flight is that we will be able to have 2 bags @ 50lbs each. May take the tux and pirate outfit yet.:cool1:

Don't listen to them at DCL. Go to my post on page 319, post #4778 for what to do immediately when you get on board. DO NOT go to Guest Services. They CANNOT help you.

Let me know if you need anymore help

YEAH!!! Listen to Linda not DCL!!! We have done this many times!!! Once again, Disboarders 50 billion right, DCL about that amount wrong...:rolleyes1

Yes, go to the lounge. Not only can you do the Palo ressies, but if you have a specific dinner rotation that you prefer, they possibly can help there too.

Now, if Linda could just help getting our flight to MCO changed.....:lmao:

You couldn't DRAG me on another Carnival cruise. YUCK!:scared:
Is there a smilie of someone throwing up?

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

OMG - I almost wet my myself!

Lori

sorry...couldn't help myself

:hyper2: Yeah, I just can't keep up either...I've even started looking at posts on my lunch hour at work. I think I may need to do like KathyonA1A and just miss a few:rolleyes1 - what's it gonna be like the week before we leave? Some of you will already be at WDW posting, making some of us jealous that you're already on vacation.:rotfl2:

popcorn:: The POC3 date is OK, but it does kinda put a crimp in the plans for the Magic Fountain show...gives everyone a reason to go back to Barcelona though...

Winter is coming back here tonight...bad thunderstorms now and it will be 21 tomorrow night... SO - We're planning a last minute quick get away to West Palm, FL this weekend, Mike's Dad's Bday is Thursday and we're flying down to surprise him. He's been wanting to take us out on his boat and we can't get any more time before the trip since it's so long already so we're going this weekend so we can do that and spend some time with him, plus enjoy the sun a bit. :boat: :sunny: :sail:

We'll likely run in to a few of you in Beat Street since we could only get 1 Palo ressie too for dinner. Gotta do the brunch from all the gushing I've heard from you all. Never had the chance in the past. Wanna see what it's like.

Won't POC3 debut at 12:01am on the 25th? That interferes with early excursions not the magic fountain trip.

Speaking of the magic fountain; is anyone organizing or are we all just going on our own?

OMG in some ways I think the brunch is better than the dinner...just depends on my mood!!! Make sure you skip breakfast and midnight snacks so that you arrive ready to graze...it is a seafood lovers paradise and then the pizzas...they are so good....we have gotten them to go so we can eat them later in our room...well that and our stateroom hostess almost swooned when we brought her her favorite one...of course come to think about it, we didn't get to eat it later, the girls scarfed it up and wanted to know if we would get them more when we went again later in the week...of course we did for everyone!!!
