May 12, 2007 -- Taking the Magic to the Mediterranean -- 14 day Repo Cruise! Part 2

Just spoke to my TA, she confirmed that we would lose our Cat. 9 and would go back to a GTY.12 if I take the $200 price reduction.
I decided not to take it. I love my room, Cat. 9 aft for the price of
a Cat. 12. Perfect location for us.

Am I nuts for not taking the money and hoping they would put me back in a 9 or better?

What is everyone else doing?

My TA never mentioned that. All she said is that it took awhile because they were making sure we didn't look excursions and Palos, like the snafu the first time the dropped prices. I have a call into my TA and I can't check my ressie online because they are 'servicing' it. So once I can and confirm that my Cat 9 hasn't disappeared I will post it and let you know!!

I'm keeping my upgrade for now. I figure less than $15 a day for bigger room, split bath and window. I will keep watching to see what happens.

both of you are NOT carzy! you really lucked out and got the best cabins i think we will get being GTY 12...i would like to dream about DCL giving me a balcony but i do not think that will happen....i think DCL knows there are many of us willing to pay a little more at port for those rooms....

i came to peace over my cat 10, which was better than my cat 11 in size but not location...i'll just toss my hat back into the ring and see what happens...i really do not care where i end up but i can find somewhere to spend all the extra $$$$!

SSNYDER.... i was playing around on kayak.com today for airfare for my MIL who may go on this trip and LA area to MCO was $133 one way and barcelona to LA area was $620....just to let you know but it may be cheaper where you live....

we would love to have you back!!!!

when i looked at her fare today it was $1398 for cat 12 GTY, one person, no transfers, no insurance.....yest it was 15?? so the price did drop!

OK my bad! Forgot to remove the insurance and transfers!

Pretty soon they will be paying us to take the cruise! He said he has never seen this happen on a Disney cruise before. He also said that the $10 at Palo goes only to tipping, but anything extra is always very appreciated.

I think if they drop us anymore they may want us to pre-pay gratuities (ala TA/Cast Member rates) which I have no problem with. I usually tip much more than the recommended amount and I still will! Right now we are down to where the discounts in price have us only paying $203 each out of pocket for ALL excursions, tips & Palos. And that is factoring in paying higher than expected tips, and having two brunches, teas and dinners at Palo!!!

You mean we don't get to have a sleep out down Beat Street with 500 of our closest friends?

I am disappointed that we don't get to have a sleep over. It sounded like lots of fun. We were lucky enough on the May PC cruise to get pins sets and didn't have to sleep over. But, we were one of the last few people to get the pins.

I called DCL, asked about the $200 reduction, was put on hold a long time and when the CM came back she said that it would be credited to my card and I would be in the same room.

Still 2nd floor, still close to breakfast. My mantra--"It's okay not to have a porthole. It's okay not to ..."

We're at $2100 for the 4 of us. UNHEARD OF!!!

That's only $150 per day!!!!!!

We have personally asked the manager and servers in Palo's. They DO NOT get the $10 for tipping. From the $10 about $8 of it goes to added food costs and the remaining $2 goes to tipping. We always add about $10 per person for an additional tip for the good service for brunch or dinner and adjust accordingly up from there.

I'll take the $200. We only got upgraded from a CAT 12 to the sideways CAT 11, so I'll take my chances and maybe we will get a better upgrade! We seem to have gotten the raw end of the deal when it came to upgrades!

Yes, we were cat 12 - cat 9 - don't know why we got it! It was purely random I'm sure.

many of us rebooked onboard and already are getting our tips paid in full...when we get the price drop we will have a cabin for $2135 inc tips paid and $250 OBC for a family of 4...i put some of my money from that last refund as shipboard credit and we are splurging this time and doing some excursions that we never would have done without the money....

Can someone please check there online ressies and see what it says. I just checked mine and it has me in a cat 12 gyt no room # and no ressies for anything! They also have me down for late dinner. I am hoping that DCL is messing with the ressies but I just do not know. Thanks!

Just got off phone with DCL and I managed to score $175 refund! WOHOW!

My ressie looks OK but didn't have anything planned or room assigned yet on it. All rest is fine
