Do any of you wonder if the entertainment and possibly even food will be downgraded since they are nearly giving these rooms away just to fill the boat?

No, I don't think so. Even though they won't tell us who or what the entertainment is yet, they have had those contracts in place for quite some time. They plan alot of this stuff a year out, and remember they are making tons of money on the 10 night and 11 night cruises while they are in the Med., they just needed to get the boat there.

With the food, no worries there. The menus and the new menus are all done and at the point they are probably testing them, so the food should be awesome, as usual!

(They better not cut back on those Krispy Kremes!)
:rotfl: :rotfl:

Kewl deal on Prices dropping, has anyone checked to see if DVC points have dropped?? I kinda doubt it.

Yes people your presence is gift enough… for sure.

Alaska, I got to do Denali on foot … lol no cruise that time

I just booked it as a solo. I bought some extra miles from Continental to get me home. I needed 100,000 for the one-way from Barcelona to San Diego (they charge you double for the one-way) and I had 87,000. So here is what I'm paying for the 14 night cruise plus airfare:

$1398.86 <-cruise
$ 159.80 <-one-way ticket on United from San Diego to Orlando (May 11)
$ 447.07 <-purchased miles for airfare from Barcelona to San Diego (May 26)
--------
$2005.73 TOTAL (plus tips and excursions)

I can't believe it. Now I have to figure out how to catch up with all the planning.

I still need to get a hotel room in Orlando. I'll probably rent a car to drop off at the port so that I can attend the wine and cheese party.

BTW, I leave Barcelona at 10:55 am and arrive in San Diego at 8:41pm with a 3 1/2 hour layover in Newark.

Someone please tell me what I should be doing now because I'm so excited that I can't think. :yay:

Susie, I'll call you tonight. Someone else from SD maybe joining us again too!!!

Welcome back! Have they given you a room yet?
No I haven't got the final confirmation. I had my TA just place a hold on it until I made sure I could work out the airline reservations. I just now told him to go ahead and book it.

Oh and I forgot to mention. If Curt decides at the last minute that he can go, it will just be the difference between ($1867 and $1398) to add him back on. My TA did warn me that there is a possibility that the ship will reach what they call their "Adult Capacity" and if that is the case, we couldn't do that. That would also assume he could arrange airfare also. Probably wouldn't be on the same flights though.

KEWL WELCOME BACK ON BOARD....

Hey Bob, there is a guy from Purdue in the class I am in...

i DO NOT think anything will be downgraded...i truly think DCL is doing everything they can to help their employees...they live off their tips and if the ship is only half full some will go without tips for 2 weeks! i truly think DCL is just trying to get more people on the ship for their employees to get tipped, which is their livelihood....

i think DCL is making plenty of money off those with the balconies to feed us in the "lower" cabins....:lmao: :rotfl2: (just kidding!!!)

Don't worry, when my dad and MIL booked, there was no break - they booked on Saturday and each paid $6,400 for a balcony - that is a lot of good entertainment and games!

Good Evening All.
Finally got our air reservations.....

just curious....does anyone else have a 10:00 am flight out of Barcelona?
Glad this is Disney's doing and they will make it work out. (fingers crossed)

Hi Bob and Lee - we don't have a 10:00 - but we have a 10:20 into Newark. Are you a little nervous - I am!

Hi Susie - welcome! We usually stay at the Hyatt the night before the cruise. It is easy and very convenient and you don't have to rent a car. They included breakfast in the morning and we paid $229.00. We are all excited and there is a lot to catch up with, but don't stress.:yay:

I had a room booked there when we were originally on this cruise. But then when we decided to rent a car to get to the wine and cheese party, we dropped the reservation. I want to find somewhere where they don't charge so much to park the car for the night.

At least I have still been following the thread (I was on from day one), so I feel like I know everyone.

You can stay at the Nick Hotel where we are! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: I bet you have never been slimed before!

You could stay on site at Disney, use the Magical Express to get to the hotel, Disney trasportation to get to the wine and cheese, then rent a car to get to the port. We might even have room for you depending on what car we rent. We've been trying to find the best way/cheapest way home and I haven't booked Disney or the rental car yet.

Reseaching London hotels right now. Found at $50 ticket (each) to get us from Barcelona to London on the 26th and a flight from London to Vancouver BC (we live in Seattle) for something not horrible. Still waiting to book.

We will be staying at Disney.

We did the air thru Disney. So since it is a Disney reservation, they will make it work.

We fly into JFK and then on to Indy.

My Budget rental to drop off at the port was only $35. I'm going to check into that first. If I can still get that rate or something close, that will be my initial plan. Thanks for the suggestions though.

gydell - how much is the Nick hotel? I really need to think low budget for this trip.

May I ask what Cat that is???

Hi All

Congrats to everyone who got to keep their upgrades! My TA who was supposed to be back this afternoon is not back yet. I am waiting impatiently to know the refunds will be taken care of.

WELCOME to the many knew (and returning) people.

Susie--we are staying at the Buena Vista Suites as recomended by Mary at www.mousesavers.com. If you use the mousesavers code it is $99 a night (that is with tax included) and includes a hot breakfast.

Hadley
