one part about the power of family, and one part about recognizing the innocence and beauty of children......so I definitely like all those themes.....and roll it all into a pretty female-empowered story where a special little girl is the key to save all humanity and I'm sold for sure!!! ;) The only thing that would have made it better was singing and dancing!!!

:tigger:
Erik

We have alot in common!!! :)

Oh and congrats to everyone on the room assignments and upgrades!! I had no idea they would do it this early. I have a client that is a family of 4 in a GTY 12 stateroom on a cruise at the end of April and it does not have his assignment yet. It must be the emptiness of this ship~~~COOL!

1. Which restaurant is your favorite? Why? We love Palo of course, but if I had to choose out of the regular dining rooms, it would be Animator's Palate....I love that place.

2. Which dessert is your favorite? The Boston Cream Pie!!! Even though I LOVE all the desserts on board, and usually have quite a few favorites. This is my ultimate though.

3. What's your favorite onboard activity? Getting the soft serve ice cream at Scoops, and/or reading a book on deck 4

4. What's your favorite port? (not Castaway Cay! ) I have only been on 2 easterns too, so I would have to say St. Thomas...such beautiful turqoise waters....

5. What's been your favorite excursion? We really enjoyed Capt. Nautica's in St. Thomas.

6. What is the BEST thing about Castaway Cay? Everything, except the ice cream, I hated the ice cream. And I hated people shoving and cutting while waiting to disembarkand while disembarking. Never had a problem with people at all until Castaway Cay day.:(

7. What category room did you stay in? Would you stay in this category again? We have stayed in a cat 5 and cat 11 directly across the hall, and 2 cat 4's connecting. We LOVED them all, but prefer to have one of our rooms a verandah room.

8. Have you ever been upgraded? Not by DCL for free, but we upgraded ourselves at port from 2 connecting 10's to 2 connecting 4's----LOVED it!!!

9. What's your favorite live show onboard? I know this sounds strange, but I really loved the Welcome Aboard Show, and the Farewell show...I always tear up when they play the "Remember the Magic" song and show the slideshow of all the memories. Besides that, I loved Golden Mickeys the best. (oops and I personally loved Taylor Mason the best. I laughed so hard, I couldn't breathe.)

10. What's the absolute BEST thing about a DISNEY cruise? Something that makes DISNEY stand out from the rest, even if you have nothing to compare it to! I do have nothing to compare it to. But the reason why my family, and the families I know that are giving Disney a try, love that they do not have a casino onboard... and the service is awesome!!!

Now I am getting all excited again....This last month that has gone by since I have booked our trip has seemed the longest in my life. I don't know how everyone else did it that planned for longer than that. :confused3

Yep, that's exactly what I was talking about in my answer too! I LOVE that part of the farewell show. Quite honestly, sometimes at work I think of that song starting and what is happening during the show and I start to get misty eyed. :goodvibes

Okay, we have our room number too! 2626. Cat 9. I think this is a noisy room from what I am reading. We do get a porthole, though, so I can't complain there!

After assigning rooms like this do they often change them again when you have a gty 12? Do they ever downgrade you after upgrading you? If I were to call DCL and ask for a different room in Cat 9 now that they have assigned me one, will they do that or will they then want me to pay for an upgrade? Sorry, lots of questions...we are first time cruisers.

Really, I'm a good sleeper and don't think noise will bother me much, nor my dh or dd. So, I'm just wondering how this all works. I feel fortunate to have a cat 9, but if there is a way to get one with less potential for noise, then I am all for that too.

I call DCL today to ask if we could possibly get connecting rooms. I was told how I was a cat 12 gty and was already upgraded cat 9 rooms, "at no extra fee". DCL then told me that for an $2,000 a room (X2) I could get connecting rooms in a cat 10 on deck one. We decided to keep our cat 9 rooms. We will just have to get into the other room the old fashion way... walking out and around! LOL

Besided I need the extra money for my drink of the day (X14), Palo, and all our shore excursions.;)

We will check at the port one last time. If we don't end up with connecting rooms it's okay.

Oh, and in the beginning of the thread, several were talking about inventory control and knowing if they could go by April 4. What is inventory control and what did that mean? Also what is a standby cruise ticket? I know what it means with the airlines, but since everything is SO planned SO far in advance here, I don't understand.

I feel really dumb for asking all these annoying questions, but I appreciate anyone who is willing to take the time to answer!

i might have confused you when i said i was flying standby from barcelona to okc.....

When I said (a few day ago) that I was sending wind across the US I didn't mean what happened in OK. Are all our OK families alright???

we are okay after the storms but alot of flooding! i was worried coming to work tonight because some of the roads in places the water was almost a foot deep! a small tornado touched down about 3 blocks from my house and did damage to a friends home but the sirens did not go off until 5 min after the tornado touched down! :scared1:

Hi All, I am wondering if anyone else has had this problem:

We called last week and got the price drop adjustment for our Cat 12 GTY room. Difference, $800 ($400 each). However, the credit that I got back on my credit card was only $336.90!?!?!?:confused3

For the rest of you who also got an adjustment, have you gotten the correct amount or a different amount? I have sent the details to my TA and she is looking into it, but I am confused on how they could have messed this up. For my friends account, she got 3 different credits that added up to this amount.

Any assistance you can provide will be greatly appreciated!!

Laura

our money came in three different amounts (WHY??? :confused3 ) and 2 went back on one card and one went back on another...the two that went back on my bank card i have seen already but the small amount that was refunded back to my disney card has not shown up yet....

We are fine...txaggie94gigem are you all right? Honestly, I don't even know what happened here in Oklahoma, but I'm assuming it is a tornado of some sort. We have lots of them this time of year and storms were brewing big time yesterday. I'll have to watch the news to see.

tons of rain! how about you? our middle schooler was in your area in Bristow for a track meet on thursday...he said it was a long drive!!! we had lots of small tornadoes touch town all over the city but we were not affected....

I'm short $200 on my refund. I think I will wait until my TA comes back and let her deal with it.

We got upgraded from a 12 to a 10 but the room has a bad report on it due to noise from the nightclub above it. DCL says they will switch it but my TA has to call and as I have been saying she is out of town. Boy did she pick a bad time to be gone!

Got our stateroom. Got a Cat. 11, #5013, which is the sideways room deck 5, forward.

Looks like we are just a hop, skip and a jump from epcotkilterfan, Debbie and her mom Jeanette and close to Beth E and Harry in Michigan! By the way, hope Beth E's arm has healed from the 11 night last September. Haven't seen her post in awhile!

i am so envious!!! you got the cabin we gave up!!!

We're across the hall in 5020!

you are so lucky! how did that happen??? we got upgraded to a cat 10 (room 2545) but i have to admit part of me was hoping for a cat 9 :confused3 but i cannot be upset since i gave up our room for $1600! maybe we will be upgraded at the port....
Seems like just about everybody got into a cat. 10 or higher but us. We have two cat. 11s. Hank and Jan are in 6004 and We are in 6002. We have sailed in cat. 11s as often as not, and I thought it wouldn't bother me at all, but I am finding I feel cheated when it looks like everyone else is better off. Why doesn't Disney like me? I figured we deserved some pixie dust as we have missed Castaway Cay on half our cruises due to weather.Oh well, we WILL enjoy the crusie and perhaps an upgrade will come along, and we can always try at the port as well.

Don't feel bad. You are not alone. We got a cat. 11 also. If I don't get upgraded some more, I may check into an upgrade at the port.

i wish we were in a cat 11...at least we would be higher up!!!!

This is just for fun! Please answer the questions based on any or all of the Disney cruises you've sailed.

1. Which restaurant is your favorite? Why? Palo...the brunch is incredible as well as the service....and no worrying about kids while you eat!

2. Which dessert is your favorite? palo chocolate souffle!!!

3. What's your favorite onboard activity? people watching on deck 9

4. What's your favorite port? (not Castaway Cay!;) ) St. Maartin...we loved the little beach right next to the ship....

5. What's been your favorite excursion? never been on one

6. What is the BEST thing about Castaway Cay? people bring you drinks on the beach!!!

7. What category room did you stay in? Would you stay in this category again? cat 4, 8, 11...we did not use our balcony that much, cat 8 the window was nice, but ultimately we like cat 11...i would rather spend my money on me than the room!

8. Have you ever been upgraded? never except for now!

9. What's your favorite live show onboard? the crew skit the last night in diversions....if i was not upon the sea.....

10. What's the absolute BEST thing about a DISNEY cruise? Something that makes DISNEY stand out from the rest, even if you have nothing to compare it to! being treated like royalty no matter what cabin you have....

Cannot wait to see some answers!!! :yay:

I just finished baking 10 dozen chocolate chip cookies for the bake sale at our Hunter's Creek women's Association Spring fund raiser! The first 2 didn't turn out well, needed more flour, so my family gets to eat them!

gads - you are WAY too energetic for this hour of the day...I am just winding down at the end of my shift!!

From the sounds of it, Scott you don't sleep at all!!! I agree with Padalyn, you have way too much energy for this early in the morning and I have been up for a good hour just trying to catch up on the posts that happened since last night.

Cheers!!

Pat

Shift work is a pain, actually on call 24/7 is worse. But the OT and comp time is good. Checked yesterday and have 80 hours of comp on the books for this trip and will have vacation time to spare by the end of the year, will be in a use or loose situation, that is good....

Oh - I don't do shift work...I am scheduled 7p-7a for my full time job. My perdiem job I choose to stay on the same shift. I make more money and actually I am a night person through and through!!

My hunnie will agree that when I am off, unless I work at getting up in the morning I will quickly revert to sleeping from about 5am to noon every day. That is when I like to sleep - so the 7am off time is not bad at all. I usually sleep until around 5pm. I eat my main meal at 1am - so the dining rotation never fits me - I just deal with it:confused3

Since I am hourly I don't get comp - but I do get 8 weeks of vacation a year. I usually have extra that take or loose thing - but this year am using every single hour as well as my backlog of 40 carried from last year!

Not only am I taking the month for the 2 cruises, we are going to WDW for a long weekend in Sept, then an ABD trip at the end of Sept, the member cruise for DVC and a week of food & wine...no time left this year :rotfl:

Your fall plans sound great, we are at WDW last of Oct for F&W, MNSSHP, and the Dive Equipment Manufactures Show at the convention center.

Really enjoy F&W.

DVC cruise is fun just too darn short to our liking.

All we have planned for next year is the 5 day Wonder Cruise. I better get busy, planning. thinking of a dive trip on the 65 foot ketch. WDW for sure adn maybe some CA DL time. Maybe Alaska Crusie who knows.

Queery-Does Scott ever sleep??? Answer-Apparently not! Geez, how do you do it? And Pat, you are up far to early on the weekend.

Spent the past 45 minutes catching up on the goings on since hitting the hay last night. Still a chatty group I see. And, Parrot Cay is still winning I think. How funny is that? I always hear people talking about hating it (never understood why--and hating things and DCL don't really go together in my book, ya know?).

Heading out soon our Girl Scout council's annual convention. I'm a delegate which sounds important but really isn't. I get to carpool down with a bunch of other folks in the area whom I really like but don't get to see enough of, so that should be good. I expect to need at least an hour to catch up on survey anwers when I get back!
