Couldn’t Pick Cabin I Wanted This Morning

I’m Pearl and tried to make reservations for 2 different cruises this morning right at 8am. I tried the stateroom search function at the top, but I got “this cabin is unavailable” for the 4-5 I tried on both cruises. There is no way all those cabins were scooped up at 8:01 this morning. Doesn’t that function work? How can I get the cabin I want without calling in? It would only allow me to pick from the highlighted ones.

October Dominican Republic and b2b 7 night San Juan and 4 night to PC in April 2027. Tried cabins 7554, 7556, 7558, 7560. I’ve tried multiple times since I booked. I’m on with the chat feature and she changed them for me- so they were available. Disney IT is frustrating!!

Agreed, they definitely do not load all the rooms at opening. Usually there are a set # of them you can see as available in addition to what you were seeing (unless something has changed recently). Sometimes the best way is still to call!

You could book online as soon as you can in same stateroom category (5B or 9A and so on) and then call when lines open and change stateroom.

It may have to do with the number of guests in the room. For instance, if you need a room for 2 or 3, they won't show you the rooms that sleep 4. Same with the family rooms. They won't show rooms that sleep 5, if you don't have 5. You have to call and change the room by phone.

I'm dreading trying to book tomorrow when Platinum opens up. Nothing is ever easy with DCL IT--early bookings are bad but check-in is the worst! I miss pre-COVID when you could just provide all of your documentation at the port.

I know many people prefer to do it themselves, or aren’t picky about their stateroom, but this is one of those times where a good TA is to me worth their weight in gold. Mine booked four cruises for us this morning, and got us the exact first choice cabin we requested for all of them. We always give her a list of cabins we’d like in order of preference, but I can only think of one time over the years that she had to go past our first choice.

This morning I was able to book my favorite 12512 on the Fantasy. The rooms are all equal, but some are more equal than others

I don’t think that is always the case. We are always booking for two, and we always book verandah rooms that sleep 4, usually category 5B, midship, located near the elevator lobby. That’s deck 6 on the Magic and Wonder or deck 8 on the Fantasy and Dream (we’ve only sailed the Wish class one time, and are unlikely to do so again, so cannot really comment on that class ship). Booking early on Pearl day, we usually have multiple rooms to choose from that would sleep four, even though we have indicated the number of passengers as teo. Today, we booked a January 2027 sailing on the Fantasy in one of those rooms and were shown 17 such rooms.

I've definitely booked rooms that sleep 5 with a party of 4 online. But they could have changed that in the past 2 years.

This is not true. We routinely are able to look for and book a cabin for larger than our party size. DS loves the pull-down bunks! Our upcoming Nov. Destiny cabin is no different. Sleeps 4 for 3 people. We've also booked a 5th sleeper Murphy when there was 4 of us. The site will definitely show them to you and let you book.

Another problem, at least I believe it to be, is a lot of people put holds on rooms that they end up not booking. So they end up being released in a couple of days. As Platinum, our booking opened up this morning, yet our first 4 stateroom choices were all unavailable already. Wouldn't be surprised if they magically become available in a few days

I gave my TA two large row of rooms on the Adventure and none was available. I can only think that they are playing around with inventory. Pearl cruisers haven’t booked up two hallways of insides on deck 9…
