May 12, 2007 -- Taking the Magic to the Mediterranean -- 14 day Repo Cruise! Part 2

Just checking in and it looks like a lot has been going on. I will have to catch up when I get home. It is 88 here in sunny Puerta Vallarta!

The roster is updated.

We are at 58 staterooms! Which is 6.6% of all staterooms... and we know the ship is not sold out, so the percentage of the ship that are DIS'rs can be much bigger

113 adults 37 kids!!

It will be exciting when people are assigned their stateroom numbers. And the message board people are going to be invaluable with all the changes!

Luckily I have an excel spreadsheet of all the cruisers no other way to keep track!

Hope everyone had a good weekend. I spent part of the day taking pictures with my new camera. Boy I have alot to learn.

You don't need to help....Ken and Shari did all the work....and a long while back a bunch of us who have been on the boards from pretty close to the start all chipped in to help cover the cost......it's Ken's treat to everyone (with a little help from us).....so all you have to do is be on the roster, make sure your name is right on Ken's list....and then show up and have an awesome time....that's all the thanks and help Ken seems to need!!

......oh and while we're all singing his praises...I'll join the "RAH RAH GO KEN" Squad, too! (I'm in a bit of a cheerleader mood at the moment because a few hours ago my cheerleading squad called me from Orlando where they finished their big competition late this evening....and informed me that I am the tumbling coach of the now official NATIONAL CHAMPIONS!! )

Erik - congrats on the national championship! That's great. I know how it feels - my son won a national championship in youth volleyball a few years back. It's a great feeling to have the hard work, time and effort validated.

Lanyard Team - it all started with the May 2005 repo cruise. Actually, I guess it started on the 2004 Xmas cruise. Some of our disboard friends made buttons for everyone with their disboard names on them. And I saw another persons name tag from a previous cruise that she had in a plastic badge holder. So, as the May repo got closer and people started talking about sailaway gifts - I though it would be cool to make custom lanyards and name badges as our sailaway gift. But as I started looking into the cost - it became clear that it was going to cost more then we could do on our own. So I was talking to another repo cruiser about my idea and they said they would help with the cost. We asked around on the thread and we got about 10 people to help with the cost. We made about 350 name tags and lanyards for that cruise.

Then we did it again for the 11 day Wonder cruise. Many of the same people were on that cruise, so we had some of the May repo lanyard team and a few new folks.

This will be our third time doing the name badges and lanyards. It has been a challenge this time doing it for 2 cruises at the same time.

The lanyards and name badges make a great souvenir of the cuise and they really do make a great place to carry your key to the world card. We use ours when we go to Disneyland to carry our passes and fast passes.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

I've been trying to keep up with the posts, but everyone is getting so chatty that it is difficult. I don't blame you - I would be the same way IF I was still going on this cruise. We have gone ahead and written it off at this point. I'm so jealous - I plan to follow the posts from the ship though so keep us informed.

Pal Mickey - I have the original also. I liked it but Curt hated the corny jokes. The last time I was in the World, I took it with me but only carried it in the parks one day.

Kelly - Are you still planning on a pre-cruise get-together at Downtown Disney on April 12th? I had not heard any more mention of this since your first post.

Hey, Susie, I'm sorry to hear you have made it official. BUT, am so very glad we got to meet at DL and will see you many times in our future. Apparently, we'll be standing next to each other at a show - I'll look up next time!!!!

What part of Germany are you from? My husband travels to Germany frequently to work and also has family in the small town of Biblis. We have just started learning to speak German becuase it looks like we may be lucky enough to get to live there for two or three years while my husband is working there.

Thanks everyone for the congrats....it is very exciting. I can't take full credit since I'm primarily just their tumbling instructor...their main coach does most of their stunting and dancing training...but it's nice to be a part of it, nonetheless. And they're very excited about this accomplishment because the team they beat and forced into second place was trying to make this their NINTH straight national title in a row...so not only did they win the big one, but they unseated a formidable and talented squad in doing so!

My brother and sister-in-law are moving with their 9year old daughter to Germany the first week of April....and we're making a trip there sometime in the next 3 years to visit them and to detour as a clan to Disney Paris!
