Thanks for the info on the kids clubs, that helps!!

As for the books, if you are going to read the Da Vinci Code I strongly recommend that you read Angels and Demons first I personally liked it better then the Da Vinci Code.

I need to bring some books to read also, just need to figure out which ones I want to bring. I figure 2 might be good since there is a nice long plane ride back home afterwards.

Cheers!!

Pat

Books... Like Pat said Angels and Demons first, these books were quick reads for me.

I really liked 1776, and if you are doing a Panama Canal transit do read (it is a must) Path Between the Seas, both by David McCullough. I might have to get Mornings on Horse Back, about Teddy Roosevelt.

Hadley, Fish and Chips sounds great. Good Idea.

Nice day here so we are off with the pups to check out some of the local parks and geo-cache, whilst there.

Might have to see if there are any Geo-caches in our ports of call. There are a couple at DLP.

Have a great day, WOW this trip is coming up pretty soon, I better get to Packing. LOL

OK Hadley...you MUST get into that dress now that you've taunted us all with the visuals! I am picturing from your description Marilyn Monroe or Madonna's "Material Girl" video with the strapless hot pink fitted gown with the bow and train in the back....long hot pink opera gloves...lots of diamonds....and a crew of handsome men in tuxedoes hoisting you over their heads and carrying you around....what a spectacular way to enter for dinner one night! That is exactly what I had in my head!:)

Kelly, good info, sounds like sweatshirt sales will be in order.

If you are partial, like I am to this style of shirts, check out www.rum-reggae.com, these shirts travel very well.
This site looks like us!

Welcome Kurt and family! Nice to see some more kids.

Roserae, DON’T WORRY, ITS CASUAL AND A VACATION!

Pal runs aroung 80.00 I feel it is worth it, he tells us when parades are starting, about short attraction lines. he tells the corniest jokes and plays simple games (great for kids to keep them occupied - be they big or little ) Don't be suprised when it feels like he is having a seizure - that is how you find out he wants to say something !!

Pal Mickey is $65.00 at WDW. Outfits are $12. ( But I have been at home after my knee surgery since Feb. 20)

Thanks, UGH more money, but it sounds great! It last forever right? batteries??

Euchre, I have no idea what this is and I can't pronounce it:eek:

Wasn't there someone who said she would make Fish Extenders? I should take a look at mine to see if I could work up a new one. Connie

I was going to make one, but I was given one as a lovely gift:cloud9:

was wondering what plans everyone had for the Gibraltar day....Anyone doing anything that is not a DCL excursion, but more on your own?
We're doing both Cadiz and Gibraltar on our own. BUT we are doing the walking tour of Cadiz in the am and then going back out on our own. Flamenco that night.

Hadley, Fish and Chips sounds great. Good Idea
Jonathan will love this idea!

BobandLee - I lived in West Lafayette for 2 years while I completed my BSIE degree. We did our senior engineering project at Caterpillar out by I-65.

NHdisneylover - I grew up near Muncie, but lived at school 9 months of the year.

kayleeshae - I think you said you lived in Terre Haute - I spent three years in Greencastle. I know IN Hwy 421 between W. Lafayette and Greencastle intimately.

tig82714 - sometimes you just have to trump your partner's ace. More than likely, though, you should have just "gone alone" to make the point. In high school, there were 5 or 6 of us that would play 3-4 games of euchre during lunch. We would deal and play - boom, boom, boom, boom, boom - point or set.

Scott H - my high school in Indiana was one of two in the county that did not have football, so basketball started for us in September. Talk about Hysteria - just like out of the movie "Hoosiers" everyone had basketball goals on the barns and on poles in their gravel driveways.

cquick - bring your cards and I'm sure we can arrange two or three games either poolside, barside, topsider-side, or which ever side there's an extra hour.

Back to my sleep-deprived daylight savings time morning.

Today's Trivia Question is:

One Man voiced Two different princes?

Now, I did find a possible answer to your question, but I did have to IMDB. I had a guess about where I would find the answer, but it would be on my DISAVOWED list. But I suppose there could be multiple answers. So since I didn't get the answer the right way, I will leave it for someone else.

Go for it Hope! Nobody else got this one.

So it wasn't Peter Ustinov in Robin Hood, or was that something different since it was a prince and a king? I am a little confused....:)

Thanks to the ones that posted what they were doing in Gibraltar....the only reason I was asking, was that its really tempting to take a ferry over to Tangier (about 14 km, or 80 minutes by fast ferry), and hire a private guide for a highlight tour, but did not know if that was something that was a good idea or not.
I guess I figured that if people can spend alot of time transfering over to St. John from St. Thomas, maybe this could be done too. But I don't want to do anything that would be risky or jeopardizing our safety....I am just looking into it, so nothing is decided yet....

Might have to see if there are any Geo-caches in our ports of call. There are a couple at DLP.

Scott, This crossed my mind also. Might have to spend some time looking into that one. That is a great way to see the sights!!

Cheers!!

Pat

Hi all. Finally home late last night from my last business trip for awhile (hopefully). Now I can concentrate on my next two trips for pleasure!

Here's the answers to questions I read:

Great!!!!

We now have a message board at Room 8558 and Room 7562! I will probably do one on 5024. We may have to wait for the GTY's to see if we can get one on a lower deck :)

Linda can you make sure this gets in the Navigator? :thumbsup2

Thanks!
Debbie

Done!

Ok , refresh my little brain, did I mention a ½way point event or something like that????

Debbie and Lynn will keep me in line on this.

Lynn says I did and something about Burbon was involved.

Linda put it the mini Navigator and it will happen.

Done, just let me know what the halfway point is. If I remember right Scott, you were going to have a halfway party!

Oh....I have another question.....did we make a final determination on who was going to make the banner for the cruise? Jason and I were shopping in WallyWorld yesterday and we did see some inexpensive fabric.....I know that seulater volunteered to do it (but she's also, if I recall, doing the navigators...so I don't want her to have to do everything) and that milestogo was willing, too.....there may have been some others in the Orlando area who had volunteered to do it, too because then nobody would have to fly with it or anything.........but if people want Jason and I to work on that we're willing but we need to get hopping on it....because for us we now have just 54 DAYS before we fly out for the beginning of our trip :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: !!!

:tigger:
Erik

If someone else is willing to do the banner, that's great. Just let me know so I can make plans or no plans accordingly!

Okay, now to clean the house and head over to the $100 store which is really the $300 store!

Scott, did a fast look up. Looks like Cadiz has a couple of caches, but Tenerife has a few on teh outskirts of the city that you might be able to do depending on the excursion that you do. Now Gilbraltor has a ton that we can do. Have to put that on the list to pull out so we can do them while we are there. Looks like Barcelona also has a ton to do. Guess I will be packing the GPS with me for the trip.

Michelle2: Yes the answer to the Trivia Question:
One voice as a prince and a king was Peter Ustinov - you got it!
The question that nobody has answered: One man's voice played two princes? You can officially cheat (using the internet) since nobody knew it.

I forgot to answer Eric's question: No, we won't have time or ability to get the banner made. I asked about it originally because I wasn't sure who actually did it the first time and thought it would be really cool. I figured someone would be willing to do it.

misseulalie: DH recommends: Ken Follet's The Pillars of the Earth (I think?) I'm reading Psychological Testing (not so light) and Shopaholic and Baby (completely mindless) and Social Intelligence, so I'm not much help. I am currently finishing Frances Mayes: A year in the world. It is all about her travels through the Spain, France, Portugal, Morocco, Italy and some of the islands. It's been wonderfully descriptive, but its a slow listen on audio.

Hi everyone,

I've been trying to keep up with the posts, but everyone is getting so chatty that it is difficult. I don't blame you - I would be the same way IF I was still going on this cruise. We have gone ahead and written it off at this point. I'm so jealous - I plan to follow the posts from the ship though so keep us informed.

Euchre - that brings back memories of playing with my grandfather when I was growing up in Iowa. I love games.

Pal Mickey - I have the original also. I liked it but Curt hated the corny jokes. The last time I was in the World, I took it with me but only carried it in the parks one day.

Someone mentioned that the passporter said that jeans were not allowed in the dining rooms. That was the original guideline, but Disney relaxed this a couple of years ago.

Kelly - Are you still planning on a pre-cruise get-together at Downtown Disney on April 12th? I had not heard any more mention of this since your first post.

milestogo, since you like trivia too, while I was looking for the 2 prince question, I found that the fairygodmother in Cinderella, Flora on Sleeping Beauty and the Queen of Hearts were by the same person. The first 2 are pretty obvious, but I never would have guessed that the QOH and FG were the same person....

Did someone say Bourbon?

You mean you haven't packed yet? :rotfl:

....Euchre - that brings back memories of playing with my grandfather when I was growing up in Iowa. I love games.
.....
My grandmother taught me. Lot of patience. She was probably the best at Euchre that I knew.
For those who don't know what the heck we are talking about....<EUCHRE>

KEWL!!! there are a couple on CC. No snorkel gear on this trip so will just check the island out.

Kurt

Will be great to cruise with people who know something about my hometown.

Kurt, I think the highway between Lafayette and Greencastle is US231. A snake wandering road. Greencastle is where we got our last beagle from.

Scott, what he says about basketball is true. Hoops everywhere.
However, and I found this hard to believe, not all High Schools have basketball teams.
Of the 400 HS in the state, only 393 have basketball teams and only 320 have football teams. In our area, there is only one school that does not play football and they all play basketball!

Now that I have caught up with reading the thread...

I hope that everyone had a great weekend. The weather here was sunny and the temps above normal.

Starting to get pumped about the cruise. We normally don't pack until the week of the cruise. This one will require a bit more thought than normal considering the baggage restrictions on the way back.
Also, since we are flying in the day of and going straight to the ship, I need a way to get my Kahlua and bourbon down to Florida? UPS or FedX?
Will have to think about songs to get in the cruise mode. Several Buffett songs come to mind, but will have to come up with more.

Everyone enjoy what is left of the weekend and have a good week.:wave2:
Time for the NCAA tourney pairings.
