Well I guess that will teach me for booking the cruise so late, Palo is all gone accept the the shore excursion nights. Need to figure out out excursions before we can book Palo now. Maybe next cruise......

I'm going to try for a Palo reservation when I board. I had no problem booking a brunch after boarding on our Jan Eastern.

Michelle2, we have booked the Marriott Renaissance in Barcelona, right near the airport, for Saturday night after the cruise. I saw another post on here where somebody else is staying there as well. The rate was about $150 for one night. It looks new, nice, it's a brand name and it seemed convenient being near the airport for an early departure the next morning. They also provide airport transportation.
Chris

We have a 9:50AM flight out on Sunday. I booked a room at the Hotel Ciutat Del Prat. It is close to the airport with free shuttle service. There are some good reviews of the hotel on Trip Advisor. The rate for 2 adults is 80 Euro (around $105).

Hi All,

Another arctic blast in New England this week. :cold: :cold: Is it time to cruise yet??

Does anyone have a discount code for Cafepress, think we need to buy some of the new stuff!

Thanks, Bob

Hi Bob,
I hadn't noticed your location before. I was begining to think we were the only New Englanders on here. For those of you who do not live here, it is currently 15 BELOW (not to mention wind chill), but the DJ on the radio just said this is it--we are going to start to thaw out!
Bob, do you come up to the Lakes Region, New Hampshire much (seems like most of Mass heads up nearly every summer weekend:) ).

Tazzmacd,
Welcome! I see you are also up here in the COLD. Let's all think cruise shall we?

What games are you taking for those long days at sea?

Some we like are.

Pictionary
Trivial Pursuit
Balderdash
Chess
Backgammon

Anyone interested in a penny ante poker night or two ?

I am taking my cribbage board (only 2 players at a time unfortunately) and I will have a canasta deck set with me.

We will probably bring Uno, Skip Bo and Scategorries. All things which can fit into a small space in the suitcase. We also might be up for Penny ante poker. I really don't think we will be board on the sea days--I have faith in the crusie staff!

Hi my name is Shannon I live in Indiana. I am going with my two children kaylee 8 and Colton 6. My best friend Lori is also going because neither of our husbands could get off of work for that long. I am trying to read all of the pages and get caught up but I'm only on about page 38. I'm so excited, it dosen't seem real that we a really going!!

Welcome Shannon!

Today's Trivia Question is:

One Man voiced Two different princes?

Remember to try to answer by looking in your own home, office, talking to others - avoid the easy internet!

You can play 4 players in Crib, we could get a crib tourney going on, I could bring a board. What about dominos? I have a nice set that I could pack. Penny poker sounds like fun........

I am a little further north then you guys and yes, what is with this cold snap.....It is supposed to be getting warmer not colder this time of year!! It is only 64 more sleeps until we leave, I think I am more excited then the rest of the family is.

We booked a couple of things last night, doing the Mount Teide Jeep Safari, and the Equestrian school. I think we will do Gibraltar on our own right now. Still nto sure about Barcelona. Thinking about doing a tour on Friday then just do some things like the Aquarium and the fountains on Saturday. All depends on how the 6 year old is holding out after 14 days on board a ship.

Cheers!!

Pat

We will probably stay at the Residence Inn or Country Inn and suites at the port the night before. We also will be staying an extra night in Barcelona after the cruise....anyone have any suggestions for a hotel there? Pat??

I understand the Radisson has a very nice package -- and offers free shuttle to the port - the Best Western as well.

I am traveling with my (5) year old VERY active grandson -- his first cruise and trip to Europe. I'll book my own air - but the long flights/layovers have me a bit concerned. Neither my husband nor children care for travel -- so I really have high hopes for the grandkids --- certainly not wanting the last memory of our first big trip to be a series of long, tedious flights. Aer Lingus is offering some good fares out of Dublin and spending a few days in Dublin is a good way to break up the monotony of the flights. Does anyone else have any other suggestions? The flights out of Paris and London are significantly more expensive than Dublin. My first impulse was to bring both the grandkids, especially with the $99 cruise fare, but with the airline situation, I am not sure the other passengers deserve to listen to a 3 and 5 year old bicker for hours on end, nor me! And the 5 year old, wouldn't get to do the shore excursions he wants to do (age restrictions).
thanks,
Bettie

I will teach you how to play 4 handed cribbage!!! Do you have a board that will take 4 players? I can also show you how to do 3 handed. I come from a long line of cribbage players. And some of them are horrible cheats. Got REALLY good at math with my one Aunt!!! You had to be able to keep track of her adding or you would get skunked!!!! :rotfl:

FYI - I just added a "toddler" shirt to all the stores. These are smaller then the kids sizes.

I actually have 4 cribbage boards...not sure if any are up for 4 handed - please describe one so I can check them all. I have one my hunny gave me that is Mickey shaped (large - maybe too large for packing) I have an antique Ivory one (will NEVER travel - tho it is very tiny - 4 " long), and 2 travel ones. Both the travel boards are the standard setup (different shapes of course) lemme find 'em -I could post post pics, if that would help.

Ok, some boards allow for 3/4 players to peg around a board. Or if your boards only allow for 2 players to peg, you can play as partners.

Mine are all set up for 2 players. I could bring 2 boards - or we could use 4 colors of pegs on a two track board - woudl that work?
