May 11th 2008 ~ Any Double Dippers Out There?

Now I know its a few days past when you were able to start booking reservations at Palo.... I got on yesterday to book one, and they are gone....

Anyone have more than one dinner booked??? I am willing to pay/bribe someone to give one up... :)

Thanks... Think about it....

No one is able to book more than one dinner so I doubt anyone can help you BUT I was told they keep 40% of bookings back for when people board. So I guess if you get there early and board quickly, you should get a table... :thumbsup2

Heard from Make a Wish today and we are BOOKED!! WOOHOO!!! Have two cat 9 rooms and are BEYOND excited!!!

I got online to see about Palo reservations and they are all gone, of course. :( I was also unable to book the babysitting for our little guy, but I'm still hoping we'll be able to move him into the youth program. Please say a quick prayer for the potty training. LOL

Make a Wish ROCKS!!!!!

Great news!!! :goodvibes Like I said above, all is not lost for ressies. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you guys...

Trying my new signature... :D

:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

WOOHOO!!!!!!! I got a late Palo dinner reservation for the first night!! We have the main dinner seating, so this will work out GREAT! We'll just sit with the children while they eat dinner, then head on to ours later while they participate in their own programs!!!

It pays to be obsessive about checking for reservation openings!!! :dance3:

It will be AWESOME!!! I'm still hoping for brunch reservations as well, but I'm THRILLED that we got a dinner reservation, particularly on Mother's Day!!

Hello Everyone!! We just booked this week. I've never been on the Wonder before so I am looking forward to it. We've been on the Magic 6 times, one of those being a 4 day. Aside from that first cruise, this is our first 4 day since '00. I really wanted to do a 7 day but they were all booked w/ this short of notice. We will be spending 4 days in the parks beforehand though. Can't wait. The cast of characters will be:

Tara
Rob
Ava - 3 yrs
Jonah - 9 months

I didn't even realize that it will be Mother's Day! The 11th is also my parent's wedding anniversary. Boy will I be feeling guilty cruising that day. Mother's Day AND their anniv. I wish they could come along. Looking forward to getting to know everyone. I haven't had a chance to go through the thread yet.

Wow, I can't believe how fast our cruise family is growing! Welcome! And congrats to everyone getting what they wanted for the cruise :thumbsup2

I'm so excited at how fast my little counter seems to be ticking down! Can't come too soon, things have been just...well, crazy craptacular lately (funny how these things always happen at once...ah well, best to get it over with, right?), and I'm foaming at the mouth for R&R! And ONE HUGE FREAKIN' FROZEN DRINK!! BRING IT ON!!!! :rotfl: :drinking1

Can you believe we may have snow flurries tonight? This is central Texas, it's MARCH!! Bluebonnets should be starting their thing, my bradford pear has started sprouting for pete's sake! Am I in the twilight zone here?! Though I'll take this as a sign that winter is holding on so well that maybe we'll luck into balmy low 80's May weather during our vacation and not upper 90's :thumbsup2 A girl can dream, right?

P.S. Karen -- this one is for you. Apparently nobody around here knows what in the heck a Kir Royale is. On our Valentines dinner out I ordered one and the waiter looked like he was about to pass a kidney stone. I had to pronounce it for him 3 times, he came back and asked me again for the name, at which point I spelled it for him. Then the manager came out and asked me what this weird drink was? When I explained the ingredients, she said, "oh, well we don't carry creme de cassis. Can we substitute creme de cacao?" Picture me with my jaw hitting the floor as I yelped, "no!!" Ewwwwww, can you even imagine what that would have tasted like? So I've asked at every place I've visited since and they're all clueless. In short, if I want one I either make it at home (now what fun is that?!) or wait until we visit WDW and DCL :thumbsup2 I know you understand my pain.

I most certainly do!!! ::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes::
OMG!!! That's making me weep!!!! A Valentine's dinner without a Kir Royale!!! :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: From now on, every time I'm out and about ordering Kir Royales like there's no tomorrow, I'll raise a glass to you, Brandi... ;) Incidentally, have you tried Rosa Regale Brachetto d'Acqui??? It's a sparkling red wine available by the glass from Italy in the World Showcase and the Grand Floridian Cafe. I heartily recommend it - it's kinda like a KR all on its own... :cloud9: :cloud9: :cloud9:

Two Palo reservations are open right now, 3:09PM PST. I'm still hoping for a slightly later reservation, so I keep checking. I hope one of you can get a reservation! :D

OK, have to admit I haven't read this thread from start to finish, so forgive me if the question has been covered already.

Any chance we will all try to meet up? I've been thinking I have an advantage since we will already be on-board from the 3 night trip doing our back to backs before you folks ever get on board. Maybe I can find a great spot while you all get your things sorted out and have your first (of many) meals. Never been to a DIS meet before, but since we will already be on board might be nice for a quick chat.

Let me know what you think, feel, etc.:surfweb:

Also, we have always asked for a table just for the two of us. 2 guys, no kids, it just always seems like it's the smarter road to take. Sometimes we have got a table alone, onetime a table with a single mom with a child. We are big kids at heart and tried to make the best of it, by telling the little girl about pirate night, the party, fun stuff. The mom was nice, but a bit cold. Never saw them again after the first night. Oh, well we tried to make lemonade out of it, but it didn't work I guess.

So anyway, who has late seating? Anyone interested in in chatting to see who might make great table mates? (With any others on here, not just us)
Maybe we all can find people we might want to try to spend some time with? Just a thought. We are cool eating alone, but might be fun to sit with 21st century message board pen pals.

So who has early seating, late seating, etc.?:hippie: :surfweb: :confused3

We-ell, I had suggested that anyone who wants to is more than welcome to join us in the Promenade Lounge for a cocktail (or two... or three... ) at around 3pm on the first afternoon - post-lunch and pre-drill. What d'you think??? We are as ever open to suggestions... :goodvibes

We are late seating. Last time we cruised, DH and I linked our ressies with others I'd met on the cruise thread and we had such a blast at dinner - it totally added to the cruise experience... :thumbsup2

I hope you find some better table mates this time!

We are a family of 6, so I doubt we'll have table mates, nor would anybody want to eat with us! ROFL I'm really hoping we can join the meet, though! I'd love to meet all of you from here!

Sounds like a plan. Lets keep an eye on this idea and see how everyone feels as we get closer to the date. I'm game.

This could be fun as well. Anyone who may be into doing something like this, please feel free to add on your thoughts. Maybe if we all chat a bit about our likes, interest, hobbies, etc, we may find some people to meet up with and share stories about the days events and have some laughs. :confused3

Hey, if any of you happen to see that the dolphin encounter on Nassau has reservations available, will you please let me know? My daughter has been through such a rough year and was really looking forward to doing this particular excursion. Unfortunately there are no reservations open for it at this time. I'll keep checking, but maybe if I have other eyes checking also, I can actually make that part of her wish come true for her. :D There was another excursion we couldn't get either, but it wasn't nearly as important to her as this one.

We don't know how much to plan at the ports, so we're taking it light with the excursions. We don't want to be so busy that we don't get to enjoy our vacation. I'm really looking forward to the excursions we've picked out, though. :lovestruc

Great idea! Shall I kick things off...?

My name's Karen and I'm a Disneyaholic! I live just outside London, England and I've been a SAHM for longer than I care to admit. I have 3 children - Sophie (25), Matty (22) and Samuel (14) but only Sophie's coming on this trip. I also have 2 laydee dogs - Suzy the Old English Sheepdog and Dinah the deaf Dalmatian... :goodvibes

This will be my 3rd cruise - 2nd on the Wonder and it's turning into one of my fave types of vacation! We're staying at VWL for a few days prior to the cruise as we love the shopping and Disney experience that only Orlando can provide...

For more Kaz info, feel free to read my recent trip reports... ;)
