OK, I do have a funny today. On the 24th a local radio station had Santa on the air during a regular talk show. Kids could call in and talk to Santa. It was really cute. One little boy called in and Santa asked him what he wanted for Christmas and the little boy said, um Santa, and started to cry just a little, I have been bad, I'm sorry. Of course Santa reasured him that all would be well, but the poor kid could not even talk through the hiccuppy thing kids get. It was just precious.

Kim
That poor little boy! :sad2: I hope Santa was good to him!

Lisa, how is Frank today? Does he know that he's getting better? How are you? Have you gotten any time for you yet?

FOUR BOTTLES of wine....just opening up one bottle would be enough for me! That may have contributed to the situation....oh definitely!!
Oh, I'm sure they didn't go through all 4 bottles (probably just one), but just knowing so much wine was there makes me think that was definitely a factor in their choice of fun things to do that night! :lmao:

Kaylee....on behalf of the Lifeboat Crew....deliveries of DODs and towel animals will gladly be accepted and will just make us want to stay in that lifeboat.....it's getting good now!!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

By the way Deb....who is designing the t-shirts for the Lifeboat Crew? Who should your mascot be?

I spent several hours this evening with him. His legs and hands are so swollen. I think he is suffereing some congestive heart failure.

He wanted some ice cream, so I went and got him some ice cream.
He is aware how sick he has been and how sick he is now. He would never say he is getting better. He is just miserable. The doctor says that is good...it means he is coming around and can feel all the pain :confused3 :confused3

He came out of isolation while I was there tonight. The doctors got 2 negitive C-Diff tests. So that is really good.

I went to his house and got any bills that have come in the mail over the last 3 weeks. I went to the hospital and went over the bills with him, wrote the checks and all he had to do was sign them. That exhausted him.

He has come a long way...but has a really long way to go.

Thanks for asking.

PJ are you listening....how about:

iDIS
Lifeboat Crew

with a pic of our mascot!!!

The only choices for mascots would be tink and jimeny cricket because they're the only ones who will fit with all three of us. Tink is already taken for the Champagne Girls so I guess it's jimeny cricket!!

Fellow lifeboat crew.....how do you feel about that one?

It's going to be a long, slow road to recovery. We'll keep you and him in our prayers.

for those who frequent DL...are Chip and Dale's Treehouse and Goofy's playhouse worth seeing or are they skipable? Also, is Tarzan's Treehouse the same as the Robinson?

V. Skip. They only take a few minutes to see if you want to though. It does provide some great photo ops!

I am so tired....I could fall asleep right here at my desk.

Tonight I am doing nothing!! Luckily I have leftovers so dinner is taken care of. Hopefully John can bathe the girls and get them to bed.

Has anyone seen The Messengers? It looks pretty scary, but I want to see it.

We saw it in the theater and didn't like it - actually thought it was kind of boring.

in reality, how much cash do you think will be enough to bring?

I think the saying is - Take 1/2 the clothes and twice the cash you think you will need! :rotfl2:

Tarzan's Treehouse used to be Swiss Family Robinson's - they have converted it to the Tarzan theme - still a lot of the old elements there.

Goofy's is a bouncehouse - my 6 year old niece liked it on the last trip. Chip and Dale's not so much - more of a walk-through. The whole toontown area is cute though so I recommend going to see everything - doesn't take long.

Should we wear name tags at the terminal or do we think we all know what we look like by now from our pics?

We'll have ours on at the terminal.

I hope Marilyn doesn't mind because I need the TV on to go to sleep also. But I think all the lifeboats are on deck 4 and there's no rooms there. We may have to bring a portable radio.

Maybe those of us with rooms could rotate you guys on our sofas so you could get an occasional tv fix :happytv: (heck I'll add my shower to the rotation - after all I'm sitting with you at dinner!!) :rotfl2:

Me and John have nametags too. I think we'll wear ours at the terminal too.

We'll take you up on that offer....Oh yes we must shower for dinner.....don't want to offend anybody.....especially since we'll be having dinner with you!

Poor Savannah! Hopefully she'll be all cleared up soon. :thumbsup2

Staph infections have become quite common in schools around here, but primarily with athletes....they pick it up from sharing equipment (or so our news reports have said).

She has been skating a lot, but they never share stuff because the sizes are so different. They do share a locker room with the hockey players, but not towels or anything. She never showers at the rink, it scares me. I am wondering if it could have come from school or somewhere like that.

I can definetely see why teenagers would just let this go. She is little so I see everything and I am a freakish parent about stuff like that, but if she were a teenager, I don't know if I would have seen anything at all and just thought she had a bug.

I also felt bad, because the Dr. was really concerned about how good our prescription drug plan was. We actually have a really good one because I get to choose, but I thought how sad, a child has a staph infection and cannot get the best possible medication because of the drug plan. This seems wrong. (sorry high horse)

I have to say that when I was there I totally missed even seeing those places (other than the tree house) and now I know why - Toontown. That place was really small, and seemed shoe-horned in to DL - I felt claustrophobic as I walked around there!

More people like us need to keep riding that horse. It is just plain WRONG.

I went to a local urgent care facility a few weeks ago because I could see I had an infection in my finger. It was all swollen and red. The doctor saw me, lanced it, had me soak it, and that was it. I was there about an hour - even counting the wait. I got the bill the other day . . . FIVE-HUNDRED AND FOUR DOLLARS! Is that crazy? The bill said something like "surgery" - for God's sake he poked my finger! Since it has been a mostly healthy year for me, and I had nowhere met my $250 deductible, I owe over $300.

No wonder we have a health care crisis.

Well, buying a new iMac is ALWAYS a good idea . . . but . . .

Your friend has some incorrect info . . .

Leopard's requirements are for 867 mhz +, BUT, that is only for G4 Macs. Since you have a G5, you are good to go no matter what the Mhz of the machine.

http://www.apple.com/macosx/techspecs/

I would upgrade to Leopard on your current system. Make a quick trip to the Apple store today!

Let me know how you like the touch - I am waiting until after MacWorld to see what new things come out - I would love to have one, but would 3 ipods be too many?

We don't have an Apple store "near" us, so with your words of advice Shawn walked over to the Macmedia store by his work. That is where he saw "it"! "IT" is the 24' iMac! He is such a smoooooth talker - perhaps why we are married today - he came home and somehow convinced me that our home would not be complete without "it"! Next thing I know we are logged into the Apple online store and one click here and another click there and apparently we will have "it" delivered tomorrow! Things like "with your eyesight, things will be so much clearer on this screen - it's huge", or "look, you hate that wireless mouse, if we bought the new keyboard separately along with Leopard, that's $400. That's a fifth of the cost of new computer. I'll agree not to get the wireless on this computer". Or, "dude our current computer is 5 years old"! So convincing. How exactly did I fall for this? I guess he does have really nice eyes!

Actually, I think he slipped something in my beverage at dinner!

Thanks for your help John!

Why does this kind of logic never work with Amy???

She always says to me "You bought WHAT??!!"

Scott will have to give me some lessons in smooth talk on the cruise, but I don't know about the eyes part.

Congrats on the 24" iMac - those things are HUGE!

Who's Scott?!?!?!?!?!:)

Who's Scott?!?!?!?!?!:)

Ok . . . well, they both start with "S" somewhere between the brains and the fingers, Shawn became Scott. I am terrible with names until I meet people, and even then I am sometimes terrible with names.

It drives me crazy! I will sometimes avoid someone who I know that I know because I cannot remember their name!

(of course, I could have just looked at the post I was quoting, couldn't I?)

Ah yes, it's coming back to me, thanks for the reminder. Goofy's house was a fun bounce house. Molly and Wil loved it when they were little.

I'm happy to offer a bit of verdana time for you lifers, I mean lifeboaters :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I can so picture you the big guy walking around in Toontown feeling like Gulliver :cool1: :lmao: :cool1: :lmao:

ya ya, but of that $500, what are the costs for the malpractice coverage???? It's all those darn lawyers out there. (tongue in cheek ya know) :rotfl2:

It was also that Toontown is so much more spread out at WDW - at DL it is like an enclosed space.

Ha! Not this lawyer!

I vote we wear name tags for John's benefit. (okay for mine too, but I'm blaming John tonight) :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Let's get this party started.....
